She opened her mouth, but words failed her.
From her perspective, Lu An Nuan had completely lost her mind.
In an already precarious situation, she insisted on maintaining a façade of fearlessness. Was she truly unafraid of being blacklisted?
Jin Jing Fan remained silent, while Ye Mei Qi shot her a scornful glance.
"You can't even manage something this simple, Jin Jing Fan. Is this all you're capable of?"
With that, she strode toward An Nuan.
As for Ye Yun Feng,
He watched from a distance as his new wife slapped someone. Instead of displaying the anger one might expect from someone deceived by her seemingly gentle demeanor, his eyes sparkled with a hint of mischievous amusement.
This was a kitten—or rather, a little wildcat with exceptionally sharp claws.
"Mr. Ye, do you need a stool?"
Assistant Di Ming, who had appeared beside Ye Yun Feng at some point, looked at his boss with curiosity. "Doesn't he usually dislike this industry? Why is he suddenly interested in a small-time celebrity now?"
And a D-list celebrity at that.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look at those sharp claws! She even dared to strike someone somewhat famous like Jin Jing Fan. Impressive!
Di Ming watched in bewilderment as Ye Yun Feng turned his head, furrowed his brows, and shot him a serious look before saying, "This is my wife, your boss lady. Remember that?"
"What?" Boss lady?
Di Ming rubbed his ears in disbelief.
He hadn't misheard, had he?
Boss lady? The CEO's wife?
Rejecting Miss Ling Hua from the Chu family and choosing a D-list celebrity instead?
Isn't he afraid this one is only in it for the money?
Di Ming was utterly bewildered, wondering what methods this D-list celebrity had used to snag their boss. This was a man even the eldest daughter of the Chu family couldn't win over.
Little did he know, his boss had actually offered himself to her and asked her to take responsibility.
He stood there dumbfounded, speechless for a long while.
Ye Yun Feng impatiently tapped his head. "You'd better watch closely. If she gets upset, you'll be the first I go after."
"Me?"
Seeing Ye Yun Feng turn to leave, Di Ming became even more bewildered.
"What does that have to do with me? Boss, that's Ye Mei Qi, Star Splendor's little princess. How can I possibly provoke her?"
"One more word, and you're fired."
Ye Yun Feng delivered the harsh threat, too weary to engage any further. Di Ming, upon hearing this, felt a wave of relief wash over him. With the boss's words, the situation would be manageable. Yet, he knew that the newly appointed CEO's wife was not someone to be underestimated.
Just look at those sharp claws!
Di Ming thought to himself as he glanced at An Nuan. Meanwhile, Ye Mei Qi had already positioned herself in front of An Nuan, with Xiao Ruo Yu standing silently beside her, tightly gripping Ye Mei Qi's fair hand adorned with bright vermilion nail polish.
"Your face is all swollen, and you haven't even finished this scene. I heard you can't even perform a simple slap scene?"
Ye Mei Qi smirked sarcastically, leaning casually against Xiao Ruo Yu while casting a challenging gaze at Lu An Nuan. "Didn't you latch onto a sugar daddy? Why isn't he here to save you now? You've been sidelined by the company; your sugar daddy should be rushing to your rescue. So where is he?"
Her implication was clear: *You think you can fool me with money? Do you take me for a fool?*
"And so what if I can't act it out?"
An Nuan lifted her chin defiantly. Completely shedding her earlier unease, she now radiated rebellion.
When people reach their breaking point, they often become reckless.
She simply wanted to throw in the towel, stop caring about everything, and act as outrageously as she desired.
