An Nuan stared at Ye Meiqi in disbelief, thinking that this person must be crazy.
She wanted to see her suitcase?
Why should she?
"Is that so? You hide your things so well; could it be that you brought something you shouldn't have? This place is now mine and Xiao Ruoyu's. I've paid for it, and this is our home. What right do you have to take anything from my house?"
Ye Meiqi said proudly, looking at An Nuan with a condescending gaze.
An Nuan couldn't help but sneer.
She believed Ye Meiqi's words were true.
The place she rented with Xiao Ruoyu wasn't cheap; it was considered a high-end community. The housing prices here were not low, but for her, Lu An Nuan, they were significant. To Ye Meiqi, however, what did it matter?
She was the little princess of Starshine Entertainment, and money was abundant for her.
Buying a house was as easy for her as buying a piece of clothing for an ordinary person.
"I'm only bringing my clothes, and I haven't taken anything related to Xiao Ruoyu. Don't worry; the person you hold dear means nothing to me, and there's nothing of his that I would miss. A scumbag like him is all yours. I should thank him for letting me know about your affair early on, so I could see the reality sooner. People like you are beyond my reach!"
It seemed that in her words, she was portraying herself as humble and unworthy of high aspirations. However, upon closer inspection, the implication was that both Xiao Ruoyu and Ye Meiqi were no good people; Lu An Nuan was cautious and well-behaved in her actions, and she truly did not want to associate with such individuals.
Upon hearing this, Ye Meiqi immediately displayed a smug expression.
But after a moment of reflection, her face abruptly shifted from arrogance to anger. With a cold gaze fixed on Lu An Nuan, Ye Meiqi said with a fierce tone, "Lu An Nuan, I want to open your luggage and see if you are really as high-minded as you claim. If I find something you shouldn't have taken, I'll chop off your hand!"
With that, Ye Meiqi forcefully pushed Lu An Nuan aside.
Caught off guard, An Nuan was shoved hard.
Ye Meiqi then aggressively yanked open An Nuan's suitcase, causing the haphazardly packed items to spill out.
Amidst the disarray of clothes, a red brocade box fell to the ground with a thud.
Ye Meiqi was quick to snatch it up before An Nuan could reach for it. Upon opening it and seeing the brilliantly colored gemstones inside, she let out a cold sneer.
"You still say you haven't taken anything? What is this? It certainly doesn't look like something an impoverished person like you could afford."
With narrowed eyes, Ye Meiqi questioned fiercely. Her gaze flickered with a venomous light, mixed with a hint of delight at finally uncovering the facade of someone who had always prided herself on being above others.
She had always suspected that Lu An Nuan's high-mindedness was just an act.
"Give it back to me."
An Nuan's face tightened as she looked at the red brocade box, her expression filled with anxiety.
Meanwhile, Xiao Ruoyu, who had been sitting on the sofa, stood up in surprise upon seeing the gem. She strode over to Ye Meiqi's side and, upon noticing the clear red gem that was obviously of great value, turned sharply to An Nuan and said, "An Nuan, how could you have something so precious?"
"This was a gift from my father for my coming-of-age ceremony. Do I really need to explain it to you?"
"Do you think it's unnecessary? We've been together for so long, and you still hide things from me. You have such deep schemes."
Xiao Ruoyu accused her with a righteous expression. An Nuan took a deep breath and replied, "Even spouses don't need to disclose everything clearly. Besides, you're just a scumbag; I'm glad I never told you about this!"
