"Which one?"
Knowing full well what An Nuan meant, Ye Yunfeng pretended not to understand.
An Nuan's cheeks flushed deeply.
This man was clearly doing it on purpose.
Was it really that amusing to tease her like this?
With annoyance in her eyes, An Nuan pouted, "You're doing this on purpose, you liar."
"I am doing it on purpose. What are you going to do about it?"
Ye Yunfeng leaned close to her ear, his warm breath sending shivers through her like a ripe tomato, making her cheeks burn even hotter. An Nuan cautiously tried to push him away, but he was too heavy for her to move.
In a moment of panic, she heard the elevator make a thud, and quickly said, "The elevator is here; let's leave first."
"Okay."
Seeing her shy demeanor, Ye Yunfeng's gaze deepened. He took a moment to look at her before stepping inside the elevator with her.
As the numbers in the elevator counted down, An Nuan's heart raced wildly.
She must be sick to feel so unsettled by this man’s teasing.
Even being in the same space with him made her feel flushed all over.
What on earth is going on? What does he mean? Could it be that this outstanding man has fallen for her at first sight? That’s impossible. She was drunk that day; no man would find her appealing in that state.
The elevator doors opened again, and An Nuan stood there, frozen.
Ye Yunfeng lightly tapped the top of her head with his long fingers.
“Let’s go.”
“……” She touched her head in silence. Although his touch wasn’t hard enough to hurt, she felt a bit embarrassed. She had actually spaced out.
“Ye Yunfeng, wait a moment. I have something to ask you.”
Seeing him stride out, she hurried to catch up. Grabbing the sleeve of his shirt, his large hand naturally enveloped her small one in his palm.
The cold temperature somehow made her feel warm. She wanted to pull away quickly but found his grip tightening around her hand.
“What do you want to ask? We can talk about it when we get home.”
"I won't go to your place. Just give me my things, and I have somewhere to stay."
Determined to pull her small hand away, she couldn't just blindly cohabitate with another man.
After being with Xiao Ruoyu for so long without truly understanding each other, she knew even less about this man. As the saying goes, once bitten by a snake, one is afraid of ropes for ten years. She didn't expect him to have feelings for her; at the very least, they should understand each other's intentions. It would be better than… what if feelings developed that shouldn't? It would be hard to clarify things between them.
"I remember you were just kicked out."
Ye Yunfeng had a knack for bringing up the past. He clearly had no intention of returning An Nuan's brocade box.
An Nuan frowned, wanting to argue, but he continued, "Your agent is unavailable, and your mother won't care about you either. Considering everything, I'm the closest person to you right now. If you don't go to my place, where else will you go?"
"We're only close in a legal sense." An Nuan was forcibly pulled into the car, pouting as she emphasized her point.
Ye Yunfeng's lips twitched slightly. "That's enough."
A legal relationship was the most secure, while vague emotions were the most unreliable. This silly girl had been deceived by her ex-boyfriend and still hadn't grasped this truth.
Of course, he couldn't be bothered to guide her.
At this point, even if he said it, she wouldn't believe him.
An Nuan truly didn't want to get tangled up in this issue. She had previously stated that she would take responsibility; now to draw a clear line felt somewhat unfair. However, they really weren't close enough for that.
"Night Cloud Wind, could you please give me the gem first?"
