The statement had clearly defined the division of labor in the household. An Nuan was still a bit dazed, trying to process it.
"I..." She only mentioned that she could cook tomorrow, not that she would do it indefinitely. Was her expression not clear enough?
Just as she opened her mouth, ready to speak, Ye Yunfeng moved first.
He set down his chopsticks and slowly stood up, his mood seemingly quite cheerful. He gently patted her on the head in an encouraging manner. "Just stay at home and cook; I'll handle the rest."
"I'm not good at cooking," An Nuan protested, desperately trying to escape the burden of this chore.
Cooking occasionally could be fun, but doing it every day was another story. Besides, serving such a precious young master like him made her nervous. What if she cooked poorly and upset his stomach?
"As long as it suits my taste, that's enough," Ye Yunfeng replied coldly, leaving behind a single sentence that hinted at his displeasure with her reluctance.
Watching him leave the dining room, Nuan felt a wave of helplessness wash over her. When he had been silent during dinner, she feared her cooking skills were inadequate; now that he had assigned her the task, she felt somewhat unwilling.
Sighing, she decided not to overthink it. Filling her stomach was the priority; everything else could wait for later.
After hastily finishing a bowl of rice, Nuan cleaned up the dishes and put them away in the cupboard. Then she sat on the sofa, hugging a cushion and staring blankly into space.
She had no interest in whatever was playing on the television; now that she was full, it was time to think about where she would live.
There were quite a few rooms here, and Ye Yunfeng wouldn't expect her to share a room with him, would he?
Although they had just registered their marriage today, making them newlyweds...
Her mind was filled with chaotic thoughts, and after a long, exhausting day, she unknowingly dozed off on the sofa.
She didn't even realize when Ye Yunfeng sat down beside her.
The phone on the coffee table buzzed, startling An Nuan awake. She saw a long, slender hand with distinct knuckles holding her phone out to her.
Nuan glanced at the number on the screen and quickly answered.
"Shuo Shuo."
"I'm not Shuo Shuo; I'm her friend. Are you Lu An Nuan? You need to come to ex Bar right away. Shuo Shuo has been attacked."
"Attacked?"
Nuan asked in surprise. Although Shuo Shuo had a fiery temper, she was always very careful in her work. She had been managing Nuan's affairs without any issues before; how could she suddenly be in trouble?
"Yes, please hurry. I can't explain everything over the phone."
"Okay, I'll be there right away."
An Nuan listened to the beeping sound of the call disconnecting and quickly stood up, ready to leave. Night Yunfeng also got up and asked, "Where are you going?"
"To the ex Bar. Shuo Shuo has been hurt."
"I'll take you."
Night Yunfeng strode to the door, changed his shoes, and grabbed a jacket.
An Nuan nodded eagerly.
If Night Yunfeng could drive her there, it would save a lot of time. This was not the moment to hesitate.
In the underground parking garage, as soon as they exited the elevator, a chilling wind rushed in mercilessly.
An Nuan shivered slightly, and Night Yunfeng draped his jacket over her shoulders. An Nuan instinctively turned her head to look at him, but he acted as if nothing had happened and pulled her into the car.
The car shot out like an arrow, and before long, they arrived at the ex Bar.
The bar was alive with a raucous atmosphere, the flashing lights igniting the energy to its peak. An Nuan had no time to appreciate the wild and fiery dances; she quickly maneuvered through the crowd. Her gaze swept across a corner where she spotted someone who looked disheveled yet resembled Shuo Shuo. An Nuan rushed over.
"Shuo Shuo!"
