Lan Shuoshuo kindly advised her.
Nuannuan was her friend, and she had witnessed all of Nuannuan's experiences. She sympathized but felt helpless, able only to watch.
She had been happy for Nuannuan when she learned she was dating. But later, after discovering that Xiao Ruoyu was a scumbag, she didn't know how to break the news to Nuannuan.
She also wondered when Nuannuan's destined one would appear to rescue her.
An Nuan was casually chatting with Lan Shuoshuo in the café. The company's demand for compensation seemed to have no effect on her mood.
At six o'clock, Shuoshuo had to leave. An Nuan sat alone in the café, her phone ringing several times before she finally snapped out of her daze.
Picking up the phone, she saw an unfamiliar number and frowned as she answered.
"Hello?" A touch of curiosity laced her voice, wondering who would call her at this hour. Perhaps it was some kind of pyramid scheme or a scammer who knew she was lonely and wanted to keep her company.
But just as that thought crossed her mind, a low, pleasant voice sounded from the other end of the line. "Nuannuan?"
It was incredibly familiar. Who else could it be but the man she was now responsible for since that very morning?
"Y-yes, it's me." Her voice was inexplicably a little stuttery.
Facing this newly appointed husband, she couldn't help but feel a little ill at ease.
"Where are you?" Ye Yunfeng asked lazily, his voice imbued with a subtle, alluring charm. He hadn't done anything, yet his words alone made her blush.
An Nuan silently chastised herself for her lack of composure as she carefully responded.
"I'm in the cafe outside the Film City. Do you need something?"
"Wait for me there." Ye Yunfeng said just four words before hanging up, leaving her no chance to ask anything more. An Nuan stared at her phone, lost in thought.
What on earth did this man mean?
Or had he suddenly regretted it, wanting to discuss whether they should get a divorce?
If so, she would, of course, agree wholeheartedly; she wanted a divorce too. After all, she now owed a huge amount in compensation, and she had to tell him about it. Perhaps once he heard the sum, he would immediately agree to divorce without hesitation.
Yes, she definitely had to tell him.
An Nuan muttered softly. About ten minutes later, she saw the man, dressed in a well-tailored suit, appear in the cafe. He was elegant and distinguished, every gesture carrying a sense of aloofness. He glanced around briefly, spotted her immediately, and then walked over with a determined gaze.
Under his gaze, she inexplicably felt a little self-conscious.
"Y-you're here?" An Nuan stammered as he reached her side.
He hadn't done anything, yet she felt like a primary school student caught making a mistake, unsure of what to do with her hands and feet.
Or perhaps it was her hidden desire to annul the marriage that made her feel guilty upon seeing him.
As she noticed him nodding, as if about to speak, An Nuan quickly interjected, "Please sit. I have something to tell you."
"Hmm?" A hint of a smile flickered in Ye Yunfeng's eyes as he slowly took a seat, watching her with keen interest, waiting for her to continue.
An Nuan took a deep breath, summoning her courage, and said, "Ye Yunfeng, you know I was blacklisted by the company. But now it's not just about being blacklisted; it also involves a breach of contract, which requires me to pay 50 million in compensation. So, I thought that in order not to implicate you, we should… di… vorce…"
"Oh." Ye Yunfeng nodded, his long, attractive fingers rhythmically tapping the table.
