An Nuan stared at Ye Meiqi in disbelief, thinking to herself, *Is this person crazy?*
*She still wants to look in my suitcase? What right does she have?*
“Oh really? Hidden so well, doesn’t that mean you’re taking something you shouldn’t? From now on, this place belongs to Ruoyu and me. I’ve already bought this place. This is Ruoyu and my home. What right do you have to take things from my home?” Ye Meiqi declared smugly, her gaze at An Nuan dripping with disdain.
An Nuan couldn’t help but sneer.
She believed Ye Meiqi’s words had some truth to them. The place she and Xiao Ruoyu rented wasn’t cheap; it was a high-end community. The property prices here were not low, especially for Lu An Nuan. But for Ye Meiqi, what did it matter?
She was the little princess of Starry Entertainment; money was no object for her. Buying an apartment was as easy as buying a piece of clothing for an ordinary person.
“I’m only taking my clothes. I haven’t taken a single thing related to Xiao Ruoyu. Don’t worry, the person you hold so dear now, I truly have no interest in him. There’s nothing of his worth my attachment. That scum is all yours. I should even thank him for letting me know about your sordid affair sooner, allowing me to face reality earlier. People like you, Lu An Nuan can’t afford to associate with!”
Her words seemed to imply that she was too humble to aspire to their level, but upon closer listening, it became clear that she believed Xiao Ruoyu and Ye Meiqi were birds of a feather—neither of them good people—and that Lu An Nuan, being conservative and well-behaved, truly couldn’t afford to associate with such individuals.
At first, Ye Meiqi’s face lit up with a triumphant expression. But after a moment’s thought, her proud demeanor shifted suddenly to anger. Staring coldly at Lu An Nuan before her, Ye Meiqi said furiously: “Lu An Nuan, I’m going to open your luggage and see if you’re really as pure and noble as you claim! If you’ve taken something you shouldn’t have, I’ll chop off your hand!”
With that, Ye Meiqi pushed An Nuan aside. Caught off guard, An Nuan stumbled backward.
Ye Meiqi then yanked open An Nuan's suitcase with force. The carelessly stuffed contents spilled out immediately.
Among the messy clothes, a red brocade box clattered to the floor.
Ye Meiqi quickly snatched it up before An Nuan could reach for it. After opening it and seeing the brightly colored gem inside, she immediately let out a cold snort.
“Still say you didn’t take anything? What’s this? This certainly doesn’t look like something a pauper like you could afford.”
Ye Meiqi squinted her eyes and harshly interrogated her. Her eyes gleamed with a malicious light, and a hint of glee at finally exposing the facade of someone who had always claimed to be noble.
She knew Lu An Nuan was only pretending to be noble.
“Give it back to me.” An Nuan's face tightened. She looked at the red brocade box, her face etched with nervousness.
Xiao Ruoyu, who had been sitting on the sofa, also stood up in surprise after seeing the gem. He strode over to Ye Meiqi's side, and seeing the clear, bright red gem that was clearly priceless, he suddenly turned to Lu An Nuan and asked, “Lu An Nuan, how do you have something so valuable?”
“This was my coming-of-age gift from my father before he passed away. Do I need to explain it to you?”
“You don’t think it’s necessary? We’ve been together for so long, and you were still hiding it from me? You’re so scheming.”
Xiao Ruoyu accused her with a righteous expression. An Nuan took a deep breath. “Even a married couple doesn't need to account for everything clearly, let alone a scumbag like you! I’m glad I never told you about the existence of this thing!”
