Zhu Junjie realized that he had just spoken to Mong Si, and he felt a bit awkward. "Actually, I wasn't defending Mong Si just now; I was analyzing based on normal logic."
"I know."
Song Lan didn't say much more; her heart ached for the person sleeping in her arms, and she had no time to ponder Zhu Junjie's little thoughts. She tightened her hold on Tong Tong's arm and rubbed her face against the top of her head.
Her precious one had endured so much suffering and experienced such bloody scenes. Song Lan's eyes felt sore, as if tears could fall at any moment. She didn't want Zhu Junjie to see her cry, so she tried hard to conceal her emotions and said to him, "Should you talk to the psychologist about Tong Tong's kidnapping process, or should I?"
Someone needed to be with Tong Tong; they couldn't both leave at the same time.
"I'll go find him," Zhu Junjie hurriedly replied.
"Okay."
It was indeed more appropriate for Zhu Junjie to go; he had learned about the kidnapping process from Mong Si. From Zhu Junjie's expression, it was clear that some details had already been omitted by him. What she would tell the psychologist wouldn't be complete and wouldn't help with the analysis. After avoiding her, Zhu Junjie should provide a full description to the psychologist.
Zhu Junjie left the hospital room again. Just as he opened the door, a bodyguard rushed over. "Manager Zhu, something happened in the ward!"
The bodyguard speaking was stationed outside Mong Si's room, one of Zhu Junjie's men, and he recognized him. "Did the patient escape?"
With his legs injured like that, how could he still move around?
Thinking of Mong Si's sharp skills, Zhu Junjie’s face darkened. "Don't tell me you two couldn't stop him!"
"No... that's not it!" The bodyguard spoke urgently. "It's the police; they claim to be Interpol and want to take him away!"
"Interpol?"
"Yes, that's what they said, and they showed us their credentials."
They had never seen Interpol's credentials before but recognized their uniforms and their authoritative tone. They didn't dare to stop them but were also afraid they couldn't explain it to Zhu Junjie, so they hurried over to find him.
"Has he been taken away?"
"Not yet. When I came over, I told them to hold on until Manager Zhu arrives to handle it. There are quite a few of them on the other side; we probably won't be able to hold them off for long."
As Zhu Junjie listened to the bodyguard, he quickened his pace.
He arrived at the elevator, which was still in operation, and it would take several more floors to reach his level. Mong Si's hospital room was located below Tong Tong's room. Zhu Junjie did not wait; he quickly took the stairs down to Mong Si's room.
As he approached the hospital room, he noticed two uniformed individuals standing in front of it. They were clearly of European descent, tall and standing with confidence. This was Zhu Junjie's first encounter with Interpol, and he wasn't sure how to handle them.
There was no time for him to think it over; he continued walking towards the hospital room. He wanted to enter but was stopped by the two individuals at the door. "We are performing official duties; please maintain your distance," they said in English.
"You’re on a mission, yet you can’t even confirm the identity of the person inside?" Zhu Junjie pointed to his own face and said, "Don’t you see that I look very much like the person in there? Are you sure that the one inside is the person you’re looking for?"
These two Interpol agents must have poor eyesight! They traveled all the way to Hai City to apprehend someone; they should have received accurate information, seen Mong Si's photo, and memorized his appearance. He looked just like Mong Si; they should have been surprised to see him, yet they showed no reaction at all. This didn’t make sense!
Zhu Junjie’s words prompted the two agents to scrutinize him closely. They exchanged glances, and the taller one quickly entered the hospital room.
"Is it really necessary to make such a fuss?" Zhu Junjie communicated in English. "I could just go in and clarify everything at a glance."
As he attempted to enter the room, he was blocked by that agent. Zhu Junjie frowned, ready to assert himself.
At that moment, two people who were preparing to move Mong Si into a wheelchair came out of the hospital room. Upon seeing Zhu Junjie, their faces displayed clear surprise as they quickly turned to look at Mong Si, who had already been placed in the wheelchair.
How could there be two people so similar in this world! For a moment, they didn’t know who was the person they were looking for.
Seeing their bewildered expressions made Zhu Junjie want to laugh. He suddenly imagined what it would be like if Mong Si had grown up living with him; when they made mistakes, how they would blame each other.
"Take them both!" said the closest agent to Zhu Junjie.
Zhu Junjie: !!!
Damn it!
Are they really Interpol? Their methods are almost like those of bandits!
If they don't find a way to verify his identity with Mong Si, they plan to take both of them away. Who gave them the audacity!
Zhu Junjie clearly did not expect the other side to be so brutal.
The expression on his face stiffened slightly.
Before he could speak, Mong Si said, "Just stay calm!"
Zhu Junjie: ...
What did he just hear?
Mong Si actually told him to stay calm!
Wasn't Mong Si asking him to take the blame for him?
Shouldn't Mong Si be pointing at him and saying he was "Mong Si" now?
Zhu Junjie thought he was hearing things and asked in Chinese, "Do you really want them to take you away?"
Zhu Junjie knew very little about Interpol. If he left Mong Si in Hai-City, there might still be room for negotiation.
If Mong Si was taken away, neither he nor his parents would be able to help Mong Si. No one could predict what kind of punishment Mong Si would face.
"I don't want to, but is there any way?"
He had originally thought that returning to the island was his only option. Now that Interpol found him first, his only escape route was blocked. He couldn't escape his fate and could only accept it, unwillingly blaming the heavens and fate.
"You..."
How could he give up like this!
The thought startled Zhu Junjie!
He had been hoping that Interpol would find Mong Si quickly and take him away so that his life could return to a peaceful state.
Now that the scene he had imagined finally appeared, he actually didn't want it; he wished it wasn't real.
Caught in this extreme contradiction, while Zhu Junjie was still in turmoil, Mong Si slowly spoke again, "The person in front of you is Gaoqing CEO Zhu Junjie. I am the one you are looking for."
Mong Si's voice was calm, as if being taken away was not a big deal at all.
If at that moment, Mong Si pointed at Zhu Junjie and told the police that Zhu Junjie was Mong Si, urging them to arrest him, Zhu Junjie would watch without blinking as Mong Si was taken away.
