Yan Yulong rushed forward, pressing both hands on Yan Junhong's hand holding the knife. Yan Junhong coldly smiled and suddenly kicked him hard in the lower abdomen. Yan Yulong's eyes bulged as he fell to the ground. 0

"Yan Yulong!" Xia Xihe exclaimed in shock. 0

Yan Yulong clutched his stomach and got up. Yan Junhong showed no mercy even to his own son. He took Xia Xihe hostage, turned sharply, and extended his long leg, kicking down the still unsteady Yan Yulong. 0

Yan Junhong looked down at him with disdain, a cold smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "You foolish boy, you’re still ten years too early to challenge me." 0

"You damned Old bastard..." Yan Yulong cursed as he struggled to get back up. 0

"Xiao Long, today is your father's birthday. Can't you say something nice?" Yan Junhong seemed completely unfazed by being addressed this way by his son, still wearing an inscrutable smile. 0

"May you die of AIDS soon!" Yan Yulong shouted with all his strength. 0

"Hahaha..." Yan Junhong laughed instead of getting angry. 0

This father-son duo was truly abnormal... Xia Xihe listened in shock to their bizarre conversation. 0

While he was still thinking, the knife against his neck suddenly pressed harder into his flesh, causing Xia Xihe to tense up in fear. 0

"Xiao Long, you know your father's rules. Those who break the rules must be punished..." 0

The fatherly expression on Yan Junhong's face was completely at odds with his cruel actions. He glanced down at the pale-faced Xia Xihe and then smiled at Yan Yulong, saying, "This child is quite beautiful. How about this: Dad will compensate you with another one later." 0

"Shut up!" Yan Yulong angrily lunged at him. This time he was much fiercer, and Yan Junhong couldn't kick him away in time. The two of them began to wrestle. 0

Xia Xihe felt the arm around his neck loosen slightly, and he quickly took action to save himself, grabbing the other person's hand and kicking back forcefully! Yan Junhong let out a muffled grunt as he was kicked away. 0

Yan Yulong immediately pulled Xia Xihe back behind him for protection. Yan Junhong stumbled back but quickly regained his balance. 0

He looked at his youngest son, who seemed ready to fight him fiercely, and teased with a smile, "Xiao Long, are you really serious this time?" 0

"If you dare to touch him, I'll kill you!" Yan Yulong said through gritted teeth, his tone so serious that Xia Xihe, hiding behind him, was filled with terror. 0

"Oh? It's quite difficult for you to say something so ambitious. I'm truly gratified, my son..." Yan Junhong said, holding a knife and smiling as he approached them. Yan Yulong stepped back protectively with Xia Xihe. 0

When there were still two steps between them, Yan Junhong suddenly stopped, his sharp eyes glancing to the side. 0

Yan Yulong and Xia Xihe stared in shock as he abruptly changed direction and walked toward the nearby bushes. 0

A rustling sound of footsteps came, and before they could see who it was, Yan Junhong's imposing figure blocked their view. 0

"Did I disturb you?" Yan Junhong asked the person, his voice carrying an incredible gentleness. 0

Taking advantage of his distraction, Yan Yulong quietly pulled Xia Xihe back, just in time to hear Yan Junhong say to the person, "Be good and go back to sleep." 0

After saying that, he seemed to completely forget about Yan Yulong and the others' existence as he embraced the person and walked away. 0

Yan Yulong had long been accustomed to his father's unpredictable nature. He quickly tugged at the dazed Xia Xihe and moved in the opposite direction. 0

By the time Xia Xihe came to his senses, they had already exited through a glass door. Outside the greenhouse was a dense jungle. As Yan Yulong muttered under his breath, "That damn old bastard loves to play tricks," he led Xia Xihe away from the thicket. 0

Xia Xihe stared blankly back at the massive greenhouse. It seemed that its location was at the foot of the mountain; he and Yan Yulong had fallen into the underground tunnel of the Yan Family Mansion built inside the mountain. 0

"Stay close to me and don't look around," Yan Yulong ordered in a low voice ahead. 0

"Oh..." Xia Xihe obediently complied, pulling his gaze back. Both of them were lost in their thoughts as they walked in silence. Xia Xihe had many questions but dared not speak up. 0

They walked for nearly ten minutes before leaving the thicket and returning to the winding mountain road halfway up the hill. Yan Yulong took out his phone and dialed a number. 0

"Hello? Old Wu? It's me. I'm at section B of the winding mountain road; send someone to pick me up." 0

Xia Xihe looked at him after he finished the call, astonished, and said, "So you brought a phone..." 0

"Yeah, so what?" Yan Yulong raised an eyebrow. 0

"Nothing... I just thought... since you have a phone, why didn't you call someone in the tunnel earlier..." 0

"Are you an idiot? I told you that tunnel is off-limits; anyone who goes in there will be executed by my psycho dad!" Yan Yulong shouted in frustration. 0

Xia Xihe recalled Yan Junhong's cold demeanor earlier and realized that Yan Yulong was not just trying to scare him. He nervously asked, "Your dad... really intended to kill me just now, didn't he..." 0

"What do you think? Was he joking?" Yan Yulong weakly supported his forehead, while Xia Xihe lowered his head. 0

"I'm sorry..." 0

"Why are you suddenly apologizing?" 0

"I've caused you so much trouble..." Xia Xihe said with guilt. Yan Yulong let out a sigh and reached out to ruffle his hair. 0

"Forget it, I have my share of responsibility too. In the end, it's all that Old Man's fault..." Yan Yulong cursed. 0

Xia Xihe carefully observed his expression and gently asked, "Do you and your dad... not get along?" 0

"I don't know." Yan Yulong shrugged nonchalantly. "It's neither good nor bad; at least he's never refused my requests. But if I cross his forbidden lines, he won't go easy on me either." 0

"I always feel... your dad is really strange..." Xia Xihe mustered the courage to voice his thoughts. 0

"Strange? He's downright twisted!" Yan Yulong never held back when cursing his father. 0

"Um... about that person in the greenhouse, who are they? Why do they look exactly like your mother?" 0

Although he knew he shouldn't ask, curiosity got the better of Xia Xihe, and he voiced the question that had been troubling him. 0

As expected, Yan Yulong's expression immediately turned serious, and he stared silently into the distance. 0

Oh no... Did I make him angry? Xia Xihe anxiously twisted his hands, blaming himself for being too nosy. 0

After a long silence, just as Xia Xihe was about to give up on getting an answer, Yan Yulong finally spoke, "He is a butterfly that cannot fly." 0

"Huh?" That sounded so familiar... Xia Xihe was stunned for a moment before suddenly remembering that he had said something similar when he and Yan Yulong visited the botanical garden. 0

He had remarked, "A butterfly that cannot fly loses its original beauty," and later, Yan Yulong had even given him a pot of Phalaenopsis to cheer him up. 0

That person is a butterfly that cannot fly? Although this metaphor was originally his, the depth of Yan Yulong's words left Xia Xihe perplexed. 0

While he was still deep in thought, the sound of car headlights and an engine approached from afar. A black car came driving up the mountain road; it was the vehicle sent by Wu Xin to pick them up. 0

Before the car came to a stop, Yan Yulong said seriously to Xia Xihe, "What happened tonight must not be spoken of. Forget it as soon as possible." 0

Xia Xihe understood the gravity of the situation and nodded obediently. 0

It's easy to say forget it, but such a magical experience isn't something one can just erase from memory... he sighed inwardly. 0

The two got into the car, and the black vehicle drove into the vast night... 0
