The Dazzling New Star of the Heroes of the Martial World
Within the Martial Bamboo Divine Domain, the Nightmare Demon rejected Shu Heng's request to become a disciple. Upon hearing this, Shu Heng wept bitterly, tears streaming down her face accompanied by soft sobs. Yi Junsheng, witnessing this, felt her pain deeply in his own heart. Filled with compassion, Yi Junsheng said, "Nightmare Demon, your words are truly cold and heartless. Look at this beautiful woman crying so sorrowfully; how can you bear to see her like this? You should quickly agree to Shu Heng's request, or how long do you intend for her to cry?"
The Nightmare Demon replied, "You are mistaken. If I agree to her request, it would be like pushing her into the Dark Abyss. As long as she can still cry, there is hope for her. If she becomes my disciple, even this last remaining right will be taken away from her. She was once a beautiful woman; how did she end up ensnared by hatred?"
Shu Heng responded, "The hatred is not in your heart, nor the pain in your body; you can freely express your grand theories here. As the leader of my clan, my people have suffered inexplicable slaughter; they died with their eyes wide open. I not only owe them an explanation but also owe one to myself. The hatred of my clan's destruction and the enmity of losing kin is something that no one can simply let go of. I would like to ask you in return, Nightmare Demon: Yi Junsheng is your brother; if he were killed, would you seek revenge for him?"
Yi Junsheng was furious upon hearing this and exclaimed, "Shu Heng, is this how you repay kindness with enmity? Why do you wish for my death?"
Shu Heng replied, "I mean no offense; I am merely providing an example."
The Nightmare Demon stated, "Your good intentions aside, if Yi Junsheng were killed, I would certainly seek revenge for him. However, I have the confidence and strength to avenge my enemies, while you do not. It is understandable that you wish to become a disciple, but you have chosen the wrong person; I am not someone you should seek as a mentor. Moreover, as a woman, your potential in martial arts is inherently limited. Even if you were to succeed in becoming a disciple and trained diligently, you would never surpass Duanmu Chong. Ultimately, when facing Duanmu Chong, you would still be killed by him. Rather than that fate, it would be better for you to forget your hatred and retreat into the mountains."
Shu Heng declared, "You underestimate my determination for revenge. For the sake of my clan's vengeance, I would willingly give up my life. Please take me as your disciple out of our acquaintance; I will not rest until Duanmu Chong is dead."
The Nightmare Demon replied, "I cannot agree to that. Learning my martial arts will not only fail to bring you revenge but may also endanger your life; are you asking me to kill you myself?"
Yi Junsheng added, "Indeed, Shu Heng; not everyone can learn the Nightmare Demon's skills. A moment's carelessness could lead to madness and death. You wouldn't want to die from practicing before avenging your great enmity, would you?"
Shu Heng said, "Then please recommend another master for me; I must learn unparalleled martial arts to take down my enemies."
The Nightmare Demon responded, "There is no one I can recommend; it would be best for you to retreat into the mountains. This cruel martial world is not suited for you."
Shu Heng felt disappointment once again upon hearing this, her cries growing louder, tears splattering like a dam that had burst, causing those who heard her to feel sorrow and those who saw her to feel pity. The voice of despair seemed to narrate the cruelty of the martial world, the ruthlessness of the rivers and lakes, and the treachery of human hearts. The flying tears expressed helplessness in the face of powerlessness, the persistence for revenge, and the hope for Demon. However, no matter how mournful her cries were or how much she shed tears, Nightmare Demon remained indifferent, with a heart of stone and eyes that revealed not a trace of sympathy or compassion. Shu Heng could only desperately hope that Demon would change their mind, but this was an endless hope, a hope without any chance, because Demon had always been unwavering. At this moment, Nightmare Demon silently left Martial Bamboo Divine Domain. Shu Heng, watching the departing figure, felt as if she had fallen into the abyss of despair and could no longer support her body burdened with deep-seated blood feuds, collapsing onto the ground.
Yi Junsheng rushed over to help Shu Heng up upon seeing her fall, saying: “Shu Heng, my beauty, you need not worry. When A Piece of Paper returns, I will have him teach you martial arts. Do you know that A Piece of Paper’s skills are even above those of Nightmare Demon?”
Upon hearing this, Shu Heng felt as if she had seen a light in the darkness and immediately perked up, saying: “Is that really true?”
Yi Junsheng replied: “When have I ever lied to you? Just wait here.”
Shu Heng said: “Alright.”
Yi Zhangzhi, leading the members of Martial Arts Tribunal, surrounded those from Martial Arts Sect. Because Yi Zhangzhi and his group arrived suddenly, they caught those from Martial Arts Sect off guard. A tired and disorganized group was heavily defeated by the people from Judicial Court. Those still able to resist faced the unfathomable strength of Yi Zhangzhi. No matter what techniques Ben Aoxiang used against someone as imposing as Yi Zhangzhi, he could not shake him even slightly. After several rounds of attack, Yi Zhangzhi struck Ben Aoxiang, injuring him before he was captured by the members of Martial Arts Tribunal. Supporters of Martial Arts Sect, such as Du Fu and Ouyang Xiu, were also captured by those from Judicial Court. The remaining members of Martial Arts Sect either died in battle or fled in panic. Many captured individuals were taken to Judicial Court for trial. Inside Martial Arts Sect, Yi Zhangzhi discovered that Three Hands and Plum Blossom Melody, who had been seriously injured in the conflict with Taoist Sect, were present. He requested that the people from Judicial Court take these two back with them. In one night, the power of Martial Arts Sect was dismantled by Yi Zhangzhi.
Yi Zhangzhi commanded: “Everyone return to Judicial Court.”
At the cottage of Medicine King Sun Simiao, after several days of treatment, the body of Living Dead Yamata Koji had recovered to the state it was in just after being successfully modified. Sun Simiao remarked: “This technique of Nightmare Demon, striking from afar, is truly impressive. It seems I must avoid this person in the future. Now that Yamada Koji has recovered, it is time for me, Medicine King Sun Simiao, to shine! Hahaha!” After saying this, he took Living Dead Yamata Koji out of the cottage and walked through the grounds of the Martial Arts Alliance.
Not long after leaving, he encountered a swordsman dressed in strange attire approaching him; this person was none other than Hate Blade Swordsman. After losing twice to Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances, he had been drowning his sorrows in alcohol every day and now stumbled through the grounds of the Martial Arts Alliance, holding a wine jar and drinking continuously every few steps as if determined to get drunk. Seeing this, Sun Simiao said: “Young man, if you want to get drunk, I have a way.” Before he could finish his sentence, however, Hate Blade Swordsman drew his sword and attacked.
Reacting swiftly, Sun Simiao immediately commanded Yamada Koji. Upon receiving the order, Yamada Koji drew his blade to face off against Hate Blade Swordsman.
A duel between blade and sword unfolded before Sun Simiao. Treating Yamada Koji as if he were facing off against Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances, every strike aimed directly at vital points with relentless pressure on his life force; all his hatred was vented through his sword techniques. Although in terms of martial arts skills he was inferior to Hate Blade Swordsman, numerous vital points on his body were struck by his opponent's sword techniques. However, due to his tough physique like bronze and iron skin, no matter how many times he was hit at critical points by the attacks from Hate Blade Swordsman, he remained unharmed.
As intoxication set in deeper for Hate Blade Swordsman, he grew increasingly anxious during battle; even though all his strikes were directed at Yamada Koji, there were no wounds or blood marks on him. At this moment, rather than feeling confused, he believed that the figure before him was merely putting on an act; unable to tolerate such arrogance any longer from what he thought was still standing before him as a mere shadow of his rival—he unleashed his signature move: One Sword Snow Hate—aiming to decisively kill what he perceived as an illusion of his enemy. Meanwhile, without concern for himself, Yamada Koji casually wielded his battle knife and allowed himself to be struck by the sword energy from Hate Blade Swordsman. After being hit by this energy and falling into dust momentarily, he stood up again to continue launching fierce attacks against him.
Having failed to defeat Yamada Koji, who now showed signs of fatigue while facing relentless assaults from him—one side exhausted while another remained full of energy—the balance shifted dramatically; multiple wounds appeared on the body of Hate Blade Swordsman, clearly marked by cuts from Yamada Koji's knife.
Watching from aside during this duel, Sun Simiao praised it endlessly and was very satisfied with Yamada Koji's performance. After some consideration, Sun Simiao ordered Yamada Koji to cease fighting; facing Hate Blade Swordsman—bloodied and battered—he wore a look of disdain and said: “Young man, you are still far from being able to deal with my latest creation; you might as well continue drinking your wine! Hahaha!” With that said, Sun Simiao departed with Yamada Koji. Only Hate Blade Swordsman—defeated once more—was left behind with wounds all over his body. At this moment, all that could be heard was Hate Blade Swordsman's loud cry: “Hatred!”
