The Dazzling New Star of the Heroes of the Martial World
Within the Dreaming Medical Pavilion, in order to find the hiding place of the Half-Orc, Mengzi pressed Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances. The two sides quickly fell into conflict, blades drawn against each other. Mengzi took the initiative, launching a fierce attack against Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances, aiming to seize the upper hand. Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances drew his sword and executed a horizontal slash, showcasing a scholar's formidable technique.
Mengzi, driven by a desire for revenge and eager to learn the whereabouts of the Half-Orc, unleashed powerful strikes that swept across, each blow aimed to intimidate Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances. Having fought countless battles, Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances viewed this confrontation as just another ordinary duel. He spun his sword, creating a protective barrier of blade energy to prevent Mengzi from gaining an advantage. The battle momentarily reached a stalemate. However, after significantly increasing his power, Mengzi was now far stronger than before. After several dozen exchanges, Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances began to feel exhausted and found the fight increasingly difficult.
Consumed by hatred, Mengzi declared, “Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances, if you reveal the hiding place of the Half-Orc, I can overlook your collusion with him and spare your life. But if you continue to be stubborn, don’t blame me for being merciless.”
Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances retorted, saying, “Mengzi, have you lost your mind from your injuries? When did I ever collude with the Half-Orc? You really know how to fabricate baseless accusations.” With that, he refused to let Mengzi slander him and drew both swords, determined to teach him a lesson.
Seeing this, Mengzi said, “I gave you a chance, but you failed to appreciate it. Now I must act on behalf of justice. Take this!” With that, he channeled his energy and executed the Confucian technique Ritual of Killing, unleashing a torrent of force towards Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances.
In response to this attack, Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances stated, “Mengzi, you’ve found a good excuse for your misdeeds. Allow me to return this favor.” With that, he raised his sword intent and unleashed his signature move, Intentional Blade Release. The clash of these astonishing techniques sent shockwaves through the area, causing destruction all around; the scene was chaotic and terrifying for onlookers like Zhang Chongqing. Both combatants were propelled back several dozen feet by the force of their attacks.
At this moment, not wanting those from the Dreaming Medical Pavilion to be affected any further, Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances declared, “Mengzi, you want to know where the Half-Orc is hiding? I will tell you: he is in a cave beneath the Beast Den. As for how to enter, that’s for you to discover.”
Mengzi replied, “Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances, you’ve made a wise choice. This time I will spare you. Farewell.” With that, Mengzi left the Dreaming Medical Pavilion.
Heroic Blade Eighteen Vengeances remarked, “Since this old man wishes to die, I can only fulfill his wish.”
In the extremely cold region of the martial world known as the Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge, an unexpected visitor arrived: it was Medicine King Sun Simiao. The atmosphere on the bridge was eerie as several Skeletons appeared and slowly approached Sun Simiao, intending to block his path. Sun Simiao quickly struck out with a palm towards an approaching Skeleton, testing its capabilities. Upon impact with the palm energy, he witnessed a phenomenon similar to when the previous visitor had shattered a Skeleton: it quickly reassembled itself and continued advancing towards him. Seeing this situation unfold caused fear to rise within Sun Simiao. However, in order to save Yamada Koji, he pressed on regardless. Charging alone into the ranks of the Skeleton Army, he engaged in battle; many Skeletons fell before his palm energy and were reduced to fragments as he reached the middle of the bridge.
At that moment, an intense cold emanated from beneath the bridge, freezing Sun Simiao in place until he became an ice statue standing on the bridge surface. He immediately tried to raise his internal temperature but found it futile; he felt increasingly colder. Moments later, as the cold intensified further, he was completely frozen and fell into a state of hibernation with no awareness. At this time, the Skeletons discarded him over the edge of the bridge.
On the collapsed Insect Peak, numerous Half-Insect Men gathered together desperately trying to rescue their buried companion, the Half Locust Man. The arrival of a Half Lion Man, who understood the situation after assessing it, joined in their rescue efforts. The scene was chaotic with debris scattered everywhere. Suddenly, amidst the rubble at the center of the collapsed main peak, stones began to shift slowly. Then with a loud explosion, the Half Locust Man leaped out from among the debris and floated in mid-air. All of the gathered Half-Insect Men, relieved at seeing their companion escape safely, let go of their worries. One of them asked anxiously, “Is Insect Head alright?”
Half Locust Man flapped his wings, shaking off the dust from his body, and said, "My internal injuries have not healed, and I have been buried under falling rocks. I have multiple external wounds. I don't know how Mengzi has become so formidable; even I, who am uninjured, was harmed by him."
Half-Fly Man replied, "I have heard of a medicine called Seven-Day Ascension Pill. Those who take this pill will have their power increased several times, but they will only have seven days to live; they will surely die before the sun rises on the eighth day. It seems that Mengzi must have taken the Seven-Day Ascension Pill. We cannot engage with Mengzi any longer; otherwise, with Mengzi's current strength, we are no match for him."
Half Locust Man said, "If that is the case, then the next one to suffer should be Half-Dragon. However, Half-Dragon's Beast Den is heavily fortified; even if Mengzi goes after Half-Dragon, it is still uncertain who will prevail."
Mengzi arrived at the Beast Den once again. After searching through the ruins, he still could not find the entrance beneath the cave. Growing impatient, Mengzi unleashed a powerful strike downward with both hands, causing a cloud of yellow sand and dust to rise. A massive hole appeared before him, revealing the hiding place of Half-Orc. Mengzi jumped into the hole and was instantly engulfed in darkness, unable to see anything. He activated his inner energy and relied on his senses to cautiously move forward.
When Mengzi reached a fork in the cave, a mechanism was triggered within, and countless sharp arrows shot toward him, aiming to pierce any intruder with a rain of arrows. Sensing an unusual airflow, Mengzi immediately channeled his energy to form a protective barrier around himself. As the arrows approached him, they were all blocked by this barrier and fell harmlessly to the ground. Having successfully passed this trap, Mengzi declared, "You Half-Orcs, who only know how to attack from the shadows, today I will take your lives." He then chose one of the paths to enter.
After entering the path, Mengzi faced another crisis: flames surged toward him from the front while an icy chill rushed in from behind. Caught between fire and ice, Mengzi gathered his energy and executed a renowned technique from Confucianism; raising his left hand, he unleashed "Killing Benevolence," while his right hand flipped over to release "Killing Wisdom." The two techniques struck forward and backward respectively with two loud bangs, repelling both fire and cold air. However, from within the flames came a blade of energy shooting out rapidly, while from within the cold air emerged a sword energy flying toward him simultaneously.
Caught off guard, Mengzi was struck on both shoulders by the blade and sword energies, causing blood to spray three feet away in pain. Following this was an even more brutal trap: two wooden boards covered in sharp iron nails flew toward him from both directions as if intending to pin him between them. Faced with imminent danger, Mengzi released his palm energy to strike at the boards; with two loud crashes, they shattered upon impact. Yet countless iron nails seemed possessed as they all rushed toward him.
Mengzi attempted to block them with his energy but found that the nails penetrated everywhere. Despite his careful planning, he had left an opening; dozens of nails pierced into his legs. Instantly feeling excruciating pain in his legs and realizing that these nails were poisoned, he noticed that the wounds had turned black. He quickly sealed his acupoints to prevent the poison from reaching his heart. At this moment, with multiple injuries and being poisoned, after weighing his options, Mengzi decided it was best to retreat first before making further plans. He quickly escaped from the cave of Beast Den, heading toward Confucius Academy.
After Mengzi left, a voice echoed within the cave belonging to Half-Dragon: "That old fool who does not know when to leave; if you linger here any longer, I will ensure you die without a burial place and teach you that Half-Orcs are not so easily bullied."
After leaving Confucius Academy, Yi Zhangzhi returned to the Martial Bamboo Divine Domain, where Reverse Head informed him about the giant python incident. At this time, Yi Junsheng also woke up. He asked, "You meddlesome A Piece of Paper, you didn't bring back this man-eating snake yourself, did you?"
Yi Zhangzhi replied, "Yes. Sun Simiao asked me to rescue Yamada Koji, and I told him to seek out the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun, while I brought back the Spirit Python. I didn't expect you all would return at this time; now that the Spirit Python has turned to stone again, it seems I must wait for Sun Simiao's return before dealing with it."
Reverse Head asked, "What is the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun?"
After explaining what it was to Reverse Head, Yi Zhangzhi continued, "It has been some time since Sun Simiao left; I suspect something may have happened. Why don't you two go out and search for him?"
Yi Junsheng said, "The martial world is so vast, where are we going to find him?"
Yi Zhangzhi replied, "Of course, we should go to the Extreme Cold Land, the coldest place."
Reverse Head said, "Extreme Cold Land? That would be the Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge. I've been there before; let's go check if we can find Sun Simiao there."
Yi Junsheng responded, "Alright, let's set off now. I also want to see if this Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge is as cold as you say." With that, Yi Junsheng and Reverse Head left the Martial Bamboo Divine Domain heading towards the Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge.
Mengzi was dragged back to the Confucius Academy, where Liang Shanbo and others immediately helped him into a room. Upon seeing Mengzi's injuries, Ouyang Xiu said, "Mengzi has been injured by sword energy, and his feet have been struck by dozens of iron nails. The nails are also highly toxic; his condition is critical. We must hurry him to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion for treatment by the Divine Doctor."
Liang Shanbo said, "There's no time to lose; let's quickly take Mengzi to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion." Thus, Liang Shanbo and the others hastened to bring Mengzi to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion.
After they brought Mengzi to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion, he was examined by the Divine Doctor. Zhang Chongqing said, "I can handle external injuries, but I am powerless against this poison."
Liang Shanbo asked, "But you are the Divine Doctor. Can't you detoxify it?"
Zhang Chongqing replied, "This poison is unlike anything I've seen before. If I attempt to detoxify it recklessly, Mengzi could die immediately. All I can do now is prolong his life for three days. Within these three days, you must find an antidote; otherwise, there will be no saving Mengzi." Then, Zhang Chongqing took out a pill for Mengzi to take. After a moment, Mengzi woke up and upon understanding his situation said, "Liang Shanbo, please go to the Broadcast Tower and post a challenge. In three days, I will challenge Half-Dragon at the Ten-Mile Pavilion."
