The Dazzling New Star of the Heroes of the Martial World
Outside the Martial Arts Tribunal, the half-human, half-skeleton Jia Baoyu led the Skeleton Army. Bao Qing and others from the Judicial Court emerged with weapons drawn, and what met their eyes was a terrifying array of Skeletons. Bao Qing addressed the leader, Jia Baoyu, "Who are you, and why have you surrounded the Judicial Court?"
At Jia Baoyu's command, numerous Skeletons charged forward. Bao Qing and the others could only draw their swords to fight back. In an instant, all the Skeletons were shattered by their blades. However, before they could celebrate their victory over the Skeleton Army, the broken Skeletons quickly reassembled and attacked once more. Bao Qing fought Jia Baoyu alone; Jia Baoyu's inner strength was not what it used to be. After several exchanges, Bao Qing knocked Jia Baoyu to the ground. Yet, Jia Baoyu seemed unaffected by pain and immediately got back up to spar with Bao Qing again. This cycle repeated multiple times; although the Skeleton Army was weak in martial arts, they were immortal and possessed endless stamina. After several hours of battle, those from the Judicial Court began to feel exhausted, making the fight increasingly difficult.
Bao Qing also sensed that the situation was turning unfavorable and unleashed a series of palm strikes that shattered many Skeletons, saying, "Everyone, quickly retreat from here."
With Bao Qing's order to withdraw, everyone lost their will to fight and hurriedly fled the Judicial Court. At that moment, Huangfu Mingmo rushed out from within the Judicial Court, unleashing a powerful sword aura that swept through the Skeleton Army. The Skeletons struck by the sword aura were instantly obliterated; however, even so, Huangfu Mingmo's sword aura could not eliminate the Skeleton Army entirely. As the Skeletons reassembled once again, they launched another wave of attacks. Bao Qing said, "Until we find a way to destroy this group of Skeletons, we should temporarily leave this place."
Though reluctant, Huangfu Mingmo had no choice but to comply and could only leave. The Skeleton Army successfully occupied the Martial Arts Tribunal as Jia Baoyu gestured for many Skeletons to guard each entrance.
Yi Zhangzhi arrived at Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge intending to uncover its secrets when he encountered a group of Skeletons blocking his path on the bridge. Yi Zhangzhi raised his right hand and unleashed a Magic Technique: Shatter Bones, Leave No Corpse, which surged towards the numerous Skeletons like a raging tide. With a loud explosion, those Skeletons struck by his palm energy instantly crumbled into dust and could not reassemble. As Yi Zhangzhi reached the center of the bridge, a chilling aura suddenly surged from beneath it, attempting to freeze him in place. Yi Zhangzhi pushed off with his feet and leaped into the air, using his keen eyesight to observe what lay beneath the bridge. He saw that beneath it was a sheet of ice, within which one block held a person frozen inside—recognizing him as Sun Simiao by his attire. Just as Yi Zhangzhi was about to jump down to rescue Sun Simiao, a beam of light shot out from below and struck towards him. A voice then echoed from beneath the bridge: "Ming Lang Qian Kun, meddling in others' affairs will lead to your demise."
Yi Zhangzhi ignored this warning and swept his Dust Whisk towards the bottom of the bridge with powerful energy. After landing on solid ground, he sent forth a blast that shattered the ice encasing Sun Simiao off the bridge surface. Yi Zhangzhi then executed another move to break apart the remaining ice block, causing Sun Simiao to awaken from his frozen state. Sun Simiao said, "It's you, Yi Zhangzhi! I remember now; when I reached the center of the bridge that day, I was frozen by that cold aura and lost consciousness afterward. I believe this Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun is located beneath this bridge."
At that moment, another voice emerged from below: "Indeed, I do have Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun here; however, if you want it, you must agree to one condition; otherwise no one can take it away."
Sun Simiao asked, "What condition?"
The Bridge Dweller replied again: "Exchange it for Iron-Faced Impartial - Bao Qing's head."
Yi Zhangzhi responded firmly: "Impossible."
Bridge Dweller said, "Then you will never obtain the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun."
Yi Zhangzhi replied, "Really?" With that, he leaped down to the bottom of the bridge. Upon reaching the bottom, Yi Zhangzhi saw that the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun was completely connected to the bridge above, and he could not summon enough energy to lift the entire block of ice. At this moment, Bridge Dweller asked again, "How is it? I was right, wasn't I? Without my help, you cannot take away the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun."
Yi Zhangzhi jumped back up to the top of the bridge to inform Sun Simiao. Sun Simiao had no choice but to leave the Snow Sea Human Bone Bridge and seek the Eternal Ice of the Blazing Sun elsewhere. Yi Zhangzhi asked Bridge Dweller, "Why do you want to kill Bao Qing?"
Bridge Dweller answered, "It's just a personal grudge."
Yi Zhangzhi said, "Oh, then your plan will not succeed." With that, he left.
Three had arrived at Ten-Mile Pavilion, which was originally a place for martial artists to bid farewell but had now become a battlefield. One of Mengzi and Half-Dragon would eventually fall here. Many from the Martial Arts Community had already gathered to witness this clash of justice and evil. Such a grand occasion naturally attracted onlookers like Yi Junsheng and Reverse Head, who came from Martial Bamboo Divine Domain and Drunken Red Mansion, respectively. At this moment, a gentle and soft voice was heard: "Such a wonderful show; how could it be without Dreamy Consort?" Immediately, a stunningly beautiful figure appeared before everyone—none other than Dreamy Beauty, the owner of Smoke and Rain, Absolute Flower, Eighteen Floors.
Upon seeing her arrive, Yi Junsheng said, "Enchantress, it's been a long time since we last met. After all this time, you still have such an enchanting figure; your beauty has only grown."
Dreamy Beauty laughed heartily and replied, "White Face, you are still as sweet-tongued as ever; it's truly delightful!"
At this moment, severely injured and poisoned, Mengzi, accompanied by his disciples from Confucius Academy, including Liang Shanbo, arrived at Ten-Mile Pavilion. Everyone noticed that Mengzi looked unwell and exhausted, causing them great concern. Liang Shanbo urged Mengzi to give up this duel, but instead, Mengzi scolded him fiercely. Dreamy Beauty approached Mengzi: "You must not die here! Our common goal of a unified world has yet to be achieved! Moreover, the Confucius Academy still needs your leadership."
Mengzi firmly declared, "Today I will slay the evil dragon; I have no other concerns." Just then, the still-injured Half-Dragon, along with his Half-Beast Army, also arrived at Ten-Mile Pavilion. The lustful beast known as Half Lion Man, upon seeing the beautiful Dreamy Beauty, lost all rational thought due to his primal instincts and lunged toward her with the intent to enjoy her beauty in public. Seeing this, Mengzi, who was beside Dreamy Beauty, exclaimed: "Damn monster! I'll send you on your way." With that, he unleashed a renowned technique from Confucianism—Killing Justice, striking forcefully toward the lustful Half Lion Man. As he lunged forward, the beast attempted to counter with his own attack aimed at the dream of the Confucian Academy; however, their power levels were vastly different. The powerful energy sent him flying several dozen feet away, injuring him and causing him to bleed.
Seeing this unfold, Dreamy Beauty laughed: "Haha! Lustful lion! It seems you still cannot have the affection of Dreamy Consort. If you're feeling disappointed, I advise you to commit suicide immediately; perhaps in your next life you'll be born into a better situation where maybe Dreamy Consort will notice you."
Enraged by his subordinate's injury at the hands of Mengzi, Half-Dragon declared: "Old Man Meng, today I shall send you off here; come at me!"
Mengzi gestured for everyone to step back, then bent his knees and leaped forward, arriving beside Half-Dragon in the blink of an eye, striking with lethal intent as the battle commenced. Half-Dragon said, "You old man clinging to life, I want to see what you can do." With that, Half-Dragon swung his dragon tail, sending a rush of air directly at Mengzi. In retaliation for the grievances of his disciples, Mengzi attacked mercilessly, delivering a massive blow that dissipated Half-Dragon's incoming force.
Half-Dragon was not willing to back down and unleashed a fierce attack with the Divine Essence Secret Arts: Flying Dragon, accompanied by a thunderous momentum aimed at Mengzi. Faced with such a formidable move, Mengzi disregarded his injuries and channeled all his internal energy, coldly executing the technique known as Killing Intent. At that moment, Mengzi's internal energy faltered, causing him to spit out fresh blood; nevertheless, he still unleashed his technique to counter Half-Dragon's ultimate skill. The two techniques collided in mid-air, bursting forth with colorful clouds and dazzling brilliance; sparks flew everywhere, blindingly bright. The onlookers marveled at the strength of both combatants, with Yi Junsheng commenting, "This sickly cat Mengzi is on the verge of death, yet he can still fight so impressively."
Liang Shanbo was immediately enraged by Yi Junsheng's words and retorted, "I won't allow you to belittle the Confucian Academy." With that, he struck at Yi Junsheng with the intent to teach this disrespectful fellow a lesson. Yi Junsheng quickly dodged Liang Shanbo's attack and moved next to Dreamy Beauty. Seeing this, Liang Shanbo continued his assault on Yi Junsheng. Dreamy Beauty intervened, saying, "Young man, do you dare to touch Dreamy Consort's former lover? Are you tired of living?" Realizing he was no match for Dreamy Beauty, Liang Shanbo withdrew.
Returning to the battle between Mengzi and Half-Dragon, both had sustained injuries from their initial clash of techniques. Mengzi appeared to be more severely wounded; however, this did not shake his resolve to slay the dragon. Gathering his strength once more, Mengzi channeled vast amounts of true energy into his palm and aimed directly at Half-Dragon's heart. Observing this situation, Half-Dragon remarked, "What fear is there in a dying struggle?" After speaking, Half-Dragon endured his injuries and gathered clouds around himself, channeling that power into his palm as he fearlessly met Mengzi's strike head-on. The resulting collision was earth-shattering; it shook the heavens and intimidated the earth itself. Everyone watching from Ten-Mile Pavilion was left in awe of this breathtaking exchange.
Although Mengzi had consumed the Seven-Day Ascension Pill which had multiplied his power several times over, due to prior injuries and poison affecting him, his current strength resembled that before taking the pill and did not give him an advantage over Half-Dragon. After their palms met again, both fighters bore new wounds; Mengzi even coughed up black blood—an indication that the poison was taking its toll on him. Half-Dragon also spat blood from his injuries and was similarly battered. At this moment, Half-Dragon taunted him further: "Old Man Meng, have you run out of tricks? Come at me again!"
Knowing he could not escape death, Mengzi steeled himself and declared, "Evil dragon, let us go to the underworld together." With that statement, Mengzi prepared to perform Burning Both Jade and Stone. A mist emanated from Mengzi's body as his disheveled hair blew in the wind; he sealed off his own heart meridians in preparation for a fatal strike. Exhausting all his true energy and channeling dark power into both palms simultaneously using Righteous Kill and Ritual of Killing—though their might was diminished compared to before—the immense aura they generated was enough to shock everyone present. As both techniques struck towards Half-Dragon simultaneously, Mengzi's body erupted violently; his martial veins shattered under the strain from poison and blood loss as he slowly collapsed into the dust.
