Chapter 240: Jinshui River
In the skies above the Southern Region of Zhao, two figures flew swiftly forward. On the left was a Black-Haired Young Man, his entire body shimmering with Purple Radiance and exuding Thunder Might. On the right was a charming young girl dressed in green Leather Armor, her aura also remarkable, with blue strange light swirling around her alluring form. Any Cultivator witnessing this would be astonished to find that these two young individuals were already powerful enough to utilize Yukong to fly.
These two were none other than Sun Zhe and Ling Yue. After Sun Zhe presented his conditions, Ling Yue did not hesitate to throw the Divine Blade Fragment in her hand to Sun Zhe, seemingly unafraid of him going back on his word. Her straightforwardness caused Sun Zhe to furrow his brows.
However, since he had already agreed, Sun Zhe naturally would not refuse. If things went awry, he could always flee alongside Ling Yue; the one who should truly worry was Ling Yue, not him.
Integrating this Divine Blade Fragment did not take much time; it only delayed them for about an hour. Sun Zhe then flew towards the Southern Region with Ling Yue. He had not expected to become a lackey, but he did not mind doing this a few more times; perhaps he could gather several Divine Weapons that way.
Flying in the Void, Sun Zhe extended his right hand, and the Black Long Knife instantly appeared in his palm. After merging with this light orb, the Black Long Knife not only had its aura significantly enhanced but also slightly increased in length, almost reaching eight feet long. Additionally, two characters appeared on the blade: Xigeng.
“Eastern Lance,” “North Star,” “Xigeng.” Looking at the six ancient characters on the blade, Sun Zhe's gaze flickered slightly. This peculiar situation was something he had never encountered before. He knew that each Divine Weapon had its own name, just like the Bronze Giant Sword used in battle was called Giant Kun. However, although his Long Sword had not yet reached the true Divine Weapon realm, it surprisingly had three names, which was rather baffling.
Could it be that if he merged the last quarter of the fragment, a fourth name would appear on this Long Sword? Sun Zhe couldn't help but chuckle at his own question.
Since he couldn't make sense of it, Sun Zhe decided to put his doubts aside and turned his gaze toward the enchanting girl beside him. With a slight frown, he asked,
“Where exactly is that place? We have already flown for several hours and traveled hundreds of miles; is it really so close?”
Even though Sun Zhe was quite patient, he was becoming somewhat impatient with this girl. He initially thought that what Ling Yue referred to as "close" meant within several dozen miles. However, after flying two hundred miles without arriving and with the sky gradually darkening, he realized that despite their strength making night seem like day, fatigue from prolonged travel was unavoidable. Sun Zhe did not want to gamble with his life.
“Hmph! Why are you so anxious? Haven't we arrived? You talk too much!”
She shot an annoyed glare at Sun Zhe. In reality, Sun Zhe did not know that this big sister before him was quite directionally challenged. The distance was indeed only a few dozen miles originally, but she had led them on a large detour. Of course, with her pride, she would never admit such things to Sun Zhe.
In the blink of an eye, their figures quickly descended downwards until they landed on solid ground.
“This... is Jinshui?”
Looking at the massive river blocking their path, Sun Zhe's eyes widened slightly as if recalling something and involuntarily exclaimed.
Jinshui is one of the famous rivers within the Zhao Kingdom, and it is well-known even throughout the entire Nine Continents Mainland. The river flows north to south, crossing directly through Zhao and continuing into Qin State. At its widest point, it reaches several hundred zhang across, and the length of Jinshui is unknown but stretches for thousands of kilometers. What lies before us is clearly just one of its tributaries.
Although this is merely a tributary, it still surges with powerful waves, and the yellow river water obscures the riverbed. The turbulent waters roar in the center, and even standing by the riverbank, one can feel the immense force of the water. Ancient people once said that human strength cannot prevail, which also demonstrates the might of nature. Take Sun Zhe for example; even if he were given double his strength, he would not dare to think he could stop this terrifying current.
"That's right, that person is hiding at the bottom of Jinshui. However, he has only recently obtained the Water Spirit Pearl, so he definitely hasn't refined it yet. As long as we work together, we can surely capture him. Of course, you just need to hold off that beast for me; I want to take him down myself!"
At this point, a strong Killing Intent surged from Ling Yue's enchanting eyes. Although she was young, her mind matured early, and few could take advantage of her. However, she never expected to be tricked upon arriving at Nine Continents Mainland and have her coveted treasure snatched away from her. This was something she could not tolerate.
"Then go ahead!"
Gazing at the deep yellow river water, Sun Zhe's expression was cold as he spoke softly. However, he did not recklessly use his Divine Consciousness to probe the riverbed; after all, hidden beneath was a top-tier expert whose strength matched his own. Recklessly probing with Divine Consciousness would only lead to severe damage to his own consciousness.
Upon hearing Ling Yue's words, Sun Zhe understood that the opponent was a powerful figure recognized by the water element's Law from the Water Cloud Continent. Since that was the case, Sun Zhe naturally did not want to engage in combat underwater. He entrusted the task of forcing the opponent out of the water's surface to Ling Yue, who also cultivated water attribute powers, while he simply needed to wait for the opponent to appear and ensure they did not escape.
"Alright!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Ling Yue showed no hesitation. Her figure flashed and appeared directly above Jinshui, demonstrating her ghostly speed once again. Sun Zhe truly understood why Ling Yue was so confident in capturing their target; with such speed, it seemed unlikely anyone could escape.
Watching the flowing water below quietly, two chilling blue beams shot from her enchanting eyes. A symbol resembling a droplet of water slowly emerged on her forehead—this was indeed a mark recognized by the water element's Law. At the same time, blue halos appeared around Ling Yue, tightly enveloping her.
"Rise!" With a delicate shout, Ling Yue lightly waved her slender hand forward. The river water in Jinshui truly surged upwards as several thick columns of water shot up like geysers, forming a massive blue hand in mid-air.
Under Ling Yue's control, this enormous blue hand plunged back into the river and began stirring violently. The blue hand was dozens of zhang wide; as it churned madly, the entire Jinshui roiled violently. The roaring waves crashed toward the shore while the previously calm riverbed faced devastating upheaval.
"Who dares to seek death above?!"
An angry roar echoed from beneath the water's surface as blinding blue light erupted from the bottom of Jinshui. Countless towering waves surged upward wildly while that massive blue hand trembled violently amidst them. Yet, Ling Yue paid no mind; her hand gestures remained unchanged as she continued manipulating the giant hand to stir up more river water.
However, contrary to Sun Zhe's expectations, what first emerged above the water was not that enraged human from below but an enormous head.
This gigantic head was comparable in size to a hillside; its eyes radiated a chilling Killing Intent, seemingly from hell itself. Even from a distance, it instilled an involuntary sense of horror in onlookers. Yet that terrifying visage gave Sun Zhe an oddly familiar feeling.
“Thunder Dragon!” Sun Zhe suddenly recalled the Thunder Dragon totem he had seen in the Thunder Temple. The head of this giant beast bore some resemblance to the Thunder Dragon, but it was clearly less imposing. Sun Zhe immediately understood that the fearsome creature before him was likely the one with the Dragon Bloodline that Ling Yue had mentioned.
Just as Sun Zhe was pondering, the beast roared and surged out from beneath the water, its massive body fully revealed before him, stretching several hundred feet in length. Its black scales shimmered with a dazzling light in the dimness, and atop its head was a black horn radiating an incredibly violent aura.
Unlike the supreme might of a dragon, this creature exuded overwhelming demonic energy from its enormous body. Its ferocious and eerie eyes fixed intently on Ling Yue above Jinshui, while its four sharp claws surged with wild energy, seemingly capable of shattering the void in an instant. With a command from its master, it could easily tear apart Ling Yue's delicate body.
“Roar…”
With a thunderous roar, the violent demonic energy immediately spread outward from it, causing waves to surge in Jinshui. Beasts within dozens of miles bowed their heads in terror, all prostrating on the ground, unable to move under the overwhelming pressure.
“Azure Dragon…”
Looking at the colossal beast, Sun Zhe's eyes flickered with shock. He had not expected that the creature with the Dragon Bloodline that Ling Yue spoke of was actually an Azure Dragon. The Azure Dragon could be considered the closest beast to true dragons; their lineage contained the richest Dragon Bloodline. It was said that once an Azure Dragon reached maturity and underwent another transformation, it could even evolve into a true dragon.
The strength of an Azure Dragon was not something ordinary beasts could compare to; such creatures were truly invincible at their level. A fierce glint flashed in Sun Zhe's eyes as he gripped his black Long Sword, feeling a chill run through his soul. Then, with a flicker of his figure, he immediately dashed towards half-Void.
What of the Azure Dragon? He would strike down the Azure Dragon!
