The inferno lasted for more than ten minutes before finally extinguishing.
On the other side of the iron gate, everything was charred. The zombies had no idea to escape and were all burned to a crisp. Some still retained a humanoid shape, while most had lost all semblance of humanity.
The iron gate was blackened, and a burnt smell wafted through the air.
The zombies... were thus dealt with.
Of course, there were still plenty of zombies on the streets outside, as more and more zombies poured in from the city center and southern districts into the suburbs and rural areas. This industrial zone also saw an increase in zombies. Some wandered aimlessly on the roads, while others entered various companies and factories.

He knew what Guo Dalong intended to do.
He wanted to look for any hemostatic drugs or first aid kits; he needed to stop the bleeding as soon as possible, or it would be very dangerous.

Then he woke up.
A Hu was by his side.

He had a gun on him, and being able to sleep in such a dangerous environment was too risky. Anyone could take his gun or kill him directly, including Chen Letian, who called him "Boss," as well as those two pitiful survivor women.
It seemed to be caused by absorbing too much Source of Life. He vowed never to absorb that much Source of Life at once again unless he was absolutely sure it was safe.
Fortunately, A Hu is here.
Shen Yuan patted A Hu on the head and then stood up.
The sun was a bit glaring; it was already noon, and he had slept for almost two hours.

He looked over to another corner of the rooftop and found a pile of bonfires arranged there, with various pieces of wood crossed together. Beneath them were charcoal, and on top was a stick with a large piece of meat skewered on it, weighing at least ten pounds.
It was chicken meat—the meat from that Mutated Hen.
The one roasting the meat was Chen Letian.
He was sprinkling salt, cumin, pepper, and chili powder on it while holding a gigantic chicken leg in his left hand, gnawing on it.
Everyone else was also eating meat; everyone was present except for Guo Dalong, who had left.
"Boss, you're awake? Come over and eat some meat! This meat is incredibly delicious; I've never had such tasty roasted chicken legs in my life!" Chen Letian handed another chicken leg to Shen Yuan: "Boss, this one is specially saved for you; it's the best one!"
Shen Yuan hesitated for a moment before taking the chicken leg.
It was a large chicken leg, probably weighing around ten pounds.
"You guys aren't afraid that the Mutated Hen is poisonous?" Shen Yuan asked, somewhat puzzled.
Chen Letian chuckled, "Boss, you don't know. I couldn't find anything to eat in the cafeteria, just a bunch of seasonings and a lot of charcoal! I thought to myself, I'd rather die from poison than starve, so I brought those things over and got some wood to grill meat! At first, I hesitated a bit, but once it was cooked, it smelled too good to resist! I took a bite, and nothing happened! Then we started eating!"
Shen Yuan nodded.
It seemed there really was no problem.
The meat of the Mutated Hen was indeed incredibly fragrant, possessing an irresistible allure.
He took the Tactical Dagger from Chen Letian's hand, cut off a piece of meat, and put it in his mouth.
It was really delicious, extremely delicious.
Then he couldn't stop; he ate several pounds of meat in one go and drank quite a bit of water—Chen Letian and Xu Lixing had brought up a bucket of water from the cafeteria using a rope, enough for everyone to drink.
Shen Yuan felt a warm current flowing into his body once again, though not much, as most of the Source of Life had already been absorbed by him beforehand.
"Did you guys feel anything special while eating the meat?" Shen Yuan asked.
Chen Letian and Xu Lixing exchanged glances and then looked at the others, who were also glancing around.
Clearly, they all felt the same way.
"I feel a warm current..."
"I feel it too..."
"There's also me..."
Everyone felt it.
"Boss, what do you think that surge of heat is? I feel like after that heat flowed into my body, my energy has recovered quite a bit. Right now, I feel like I could take down a chicken!" Chen Letian asked.
Shen Yuan shook his head.
He knew it should be the effect of the Source of Life, but he still wasn't clear on what exactly the Source of Life was and what kind of effects it had.
He still didn't know.
All he knew was that everyone could absorb the Source of Life.
So perhaps everyone in the world could absorb the Source of Life; he wasn't a special case.
If the enhancement from the Source of Life was evolution, then this wasn't just Shen Yuan's evolution.
This was a collective evolution!
