It's a mouse!
Mutant Mouse!
A group of Mutant Mouse has arrived here, likely attracted by the sounds or lights, but more probably drawn by the various food supplies hoarded here, so they came to raid in the dead of night!
Shen Yuan saw pairs of dark red glowing eyes, at least twenty Mutant Mouse!
Mutant Mouse should be the smallest Mutant Beast that Shen Yuan has encountered so far, even weaker than Mutated Hen. However, these Mutant Mouse are noticeably larger than those seen before. It has been ten days since the apocalypse began, and they have not stopped evolving. Perhaps the heavy rain and Blizzard have contributed to this; who knows how much meat or plants containing Source of Life they have consumed? They are now even more terrifying!
They are still outside the police station.
The police station has a yard surrounded by a one-meter-high wall, topped with a two-meter-high iron fence. The building itself is of decent quality; these iron fences should be able to withstand the attacks from the Mutant Mouse, as the gaps between the bars are small enough that the Mutant Mouse cannot squeeze through.
However, after the earthquake, cracks appeared in the yard wall, and those nearly one-meter-long Mutant Mouse are gathering towards the cracks.
Shen Yuan looked around; Chen Letian and Xu Lixing were awake, and then he heard muffled movements from inside the vehicle—Chi Qinghua and the others were also awake.
“Chen Letian, block the crack with the loader!” Shen Yuan whispered.
“Got it! Boss, let me tell you, this loader is actually not hard to drive; it's pretty much like a regular car. I've figured it out completely; I can drive it smoother than Skinny Guy!” Chen Letian started up the loader and charged towards the crack.
The huge commotion immediately attracted the attention of those Mutant Mouse, which quickly organized themselves and sped towards the crack.
In the end, Chen Letian successfully used the loader's bucket to block the crack, but two Mutant Mouse had already rushed in. The bucket isn't very high, and those Mutant Mouse are still trying to jump and climb; they might get in at any moment.
“Xu Lixing, let's go!”
Shen Yuan got out of the car, holding two Activated Semi-Automatic Pistols, and rushed over with Xu Lixing.
Office Building.
The loud noise had already woken up the sleeping survivors, not to mention that some people hadn’t slept at all, tossing and turning all night.
They locked the door and leaned against the window to look outside.
“It’s Mutant Mice! There must be over twenty of them! Oh my God, they’re back!” someone whispered, their voice trembling; this group of beasts had terrified him!
“Since the Great Earthquake, these Mutant Mice come every night, always after the food we scavenge! And there are more and more each day! Guo Zuo and his group have killed several of them already, so why are there still so many?” someone questioned.
“Isn’t it obvious? I bet they all came from Pengcheng! Haven’t you heard? The Pengcheng City Center is the nest of the Mutant Mice!”
“Maybe it’s those outsiders who brought them here! Just yesterday there were only four or five, and now there are over twenty. Those people are really bad luck!”
“At least they’re better than Guo Zuo! They haven’t harmed us, and they’re living outside. The things we scavenge haven’t been taken away, and those women haven’t been violated.”
“Better? What’s so good about it? In the past, as long as we offered what we scavenged, we were safe! Zombies, Mutant Beasts, that group led by Guo Zuo could handle them! Those women being violated? In a room on the third floor, several women huddled together.
Zhou Wen nestled in Ling Jie's arms, her body trembling slightly. "Ling Jie, do you think they can drive away those Mutant Mice? I'm so scared!"
Ling Jie patted her back and whispered, "Don't be afraid! They are stronger than Guo Zuo's people; they will definitely succeed! Look at that guy named Xu Lixing; he can't be more than two years older than you, right? His speed and strength seem to be on par with Guo Zuo. And that guy named Chen Letian is also impressive; he can lift and throw Zhang Yue, who weighs three hundred pounds, several meters away! I just wonder about the leader; from what I've seen of him using a gun, I don't know how strong he really is."
Zhou Wen quickly defended, "Shen Ge is definitely stronger than Xu Lixing and Chen Letian!"

Ling Jie was taken aback.
Suddenly, Zhou Wen looked surprised and pointed outside the window. "Ling Jie, look!"
Following the direction of her finger, I saw a cat.
It was A Hu!
As the door of the compartment opened, A Hu leaped out like a nimble leopard, its eyes glowing with an eerie green light.
It was now nearly half a meter long, much smaller than those Mutant Mice.
But it was incredibly agile and fast, jumping directly from the cargo truck onto the shovel truck, then leaping again straight onto a Mutant Mouse. With a snap of its jaws, it bit down hard, and with a crunch, it severed the Mutant Mouse's neck, then tore off a chunk of flesh with skin!
Immediately after, it sprang forward, running a few steps on the ground before using its momentum to jump onto another Mutant Mouse!
Its speed was astonishing, even faster than Wei Luhe!
Shen Yuan fired rapidly with dual pistols; it took several bullets to take down one Mutant Mouse, while A Hu had already dispatched two. This performance and strength were far superior to before!
Shen Yuan pondered, his gaze sweeping over the two tails behind A Hu, wondering if this was the power of a Nekomata? Truly impressive!
However, the name Nekomata sounded too unpleasant.
A Hu was clever and spirited, able to communicate telepathically with Azure Mantis in an inexplicable way; let's call it Spirit Cat.
