New District, also known as Eastern District, is located east of Dalong Lake and north of National Route 104.
According to the map, this area has four Meteor Fragments that have fallen, in addition to Dalong Lake, though it's uncertain if they are still there.
Shen Yuan is heading to the first location: Dragon Family!
New District has only truly emerged in the last twenty years. Due to its overall modernization planning, the roads are wide, and the population density is not as high as in the city center. The spacing between buildings is considerable, so although most of the structures have collapsed, the roads are generally fine. The Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle crushes its way through at high speed.
Being a residential area, no matter how low the population density is, there are still hordes of Zombies. The entire New District has at least three hundred thousand residents, with over ten thousand in just Dragon Family. After the apocalypse began, aside from a few who evacuated with the military, most have turned into Zombies.
These Zombies hear the sounds of the Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle and Military Truck, and they swarm over to chase and block it. However, their speed cannot compare to that of a vehicle.
The Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle charges forward; no amount of Zombies can withstand its power!
“Boss! This vehicle is incredible! I think even if everyone in the world turned into Zombies, we wouldn't be afraid with this car! Even if we were surrounded like in World War Z, we could still break out!” Chen Letian laughs heartily, looking proud as he speeds ahead.
Shen Yuan furrows his brow slightly.
World War Z?
The scene is indeed shocking, but Pengcheng may not be lacking in Zombies! Moreover, the Zombies in Pengcheng have already evolved; their individual strength far surpasses that of the Zombies in World War Z! If they really were to surround them, it wouldn't matter if there were tens or hundreds of thousands of Zombies. Even if there were hundreds or thousands of Mutated Zombies attacking and blocking them, this Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle wouldn't be able to withstand it!
In fact, there are currently at least several hundred Zombies following behind, and several hundred more are closing in from the front, including many first-tier Mutated Zombies, as well as several second-tier Mutated Zombies! According to netizens living in Dragon Family, the location where the Meteor Fragments landed has been confirmed to be the rooftop of one of the buildings.
At that time, many netizens witnessed a huge fireball falling from the sky, crashing onto the rooftop of that building. The top floor collapsed immediately, taking down the second floor as well, resulting in at least a dozen deaths.
Based on netizens' descriptions, it is speculated that the fallen Meteor Fragments must have been at least the size of a fist. If consumed whole by some creature, it could potentially create a terrifyingly powerful Tier 3 King-Class Mutant Beast!
"That's the building!"
Shen Yuan glanced over, and the entire Dragon Family had turned into a wasteland, completely covered in rubble and debris. The Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle couldn't even get through.
"You all wait here; I'll go in and look for it!"
Stone Lion powered forward, and after a few seconds, Shen Yuan arrived at the ruins of that building.
Looking at the collapsed ruins, Shen Yuan felt helpless.
The ruins were too vast; after searching for several minutes, he saw hundreds of Zombies surrounding him, with even more Zombies rushing in from all directions. Most importantly, he spotted several terrifying Tier 2 Mutated Zombies, far stronger than the Tyrant! With one misstep, he was injured and had no choice but to retreat.
"The Meteor Fragments should be gone."
Shen Yuan noticed that there were bloodstains everywhere on the ruins of the building, along with Zombie slime and rotting flesh. Even the fragments of the walls showed signs of being pried open. It was evident that there had been a fierce battle here involving numerous Zombies and several Mutant Beasts.
One can imagine that after the Great Earthquake occurred and the entire building collapsed, the Meteor Fragments likely shattered into many small pieces, which were then obtained by different Zombies and Mutant Beasts, resulting in this area being filled with powerful and numerous Tier 2 Mutated Zombies!
"No, we must deal with them; otherwise, I won't be able to escape!"
There were two Level 2 Mutated Zombies, agile and extremely fast, with quick reflexes and tough bodies. Shen Yuan could only hit them once in two or three attempts, and despite his strength, speed, and the sharpness of the Activated Great Cleaver, he couldn't kill them with a single blow!
"Fuhuluo Han!"
Shen Yuan shouted as Fuhuluo Han rushed over to attack the group of Zombies at the door. After a few minutes of teamwork, they managed to take down three Level 2 Mutated Zombies before leaving the Dragon Family.
"Let's go! To the next location!"
Shen Yuan and Fuhuluo Han cleared the way as the Ultimate Doomsday Vehicle and Military Truck charged through, quickly arriving at the second location.
This was a fish pond covering more than two acres, where someone had witnessed a meteor falling into it. Shen Yuan held onto hope that perhaps after the Great Earthquake, a fissure would appear, allowing the water in the fish pond to drain. However, from a distance, he saw that the fish pond was still there, and inside it swam a catfish at least five meters long, clearly having obtained the Meteor Fragments.
As for the Mutant Beast in the water, Shen Yuan didn't even want to think about it; he had no way to deal with it. Moreover, the Zombies were closing in on him again, leaving him no time to confront the Mutated Catfish. He could only choose to leave.
Twenty minutes later, Shen Yuan's expression darkened.
The third location turned out to be a construction site, but now the soil was loose. When Shen Yuan stepped on it, he sank half a meter deep!
That Meteor Fragment had actually been claimed by a group of Earthworms. Dozens of fat Earthworms as thick as wrists were wriggling through the soil, leaving the entire underground of the construction site hollow!
These Earthworms were basically Level 1 Mutant Beasts, with a few being Level 2 Mutant Beasts. They hid in the soil and wouldn't die even if their bodies were cut off, making them difficult to deal with.
"There's one more place; I hope it doesn't disappoint me!"
Ten minutes later, Shen Yuan arrived at Golden Dragon Lake Park.
As soon as he entered the park, Shen Yuan saw several Mutant Beasts!
There wasn't a single Zombie here; all the Zombies had been eliminated. This was the realm of the Mutant Beasts!
He picked up his binoculars and looked around.
This place was actually a world dominated by Toads!
Those Toads were enormous, some measuring a full meter in length. Deep in the park, Shen Yuan even spotted an ultra-large Toad that was two meters long, radiating a faint golden glow, looking as if it had been dusted with gold powder. Its fist-sized eyes resembled green jade.
It was actually...
"The Azure Eye Golden Toad!"
Shen Yuan took a deep breath.
He felt a subtle pressure emanating from it.
That Azure Eye Golden Toad was a Level 3 King-Class Mutant Beast!
