As the saying goes, "People fear fame, and pigs fear being fat; good deeds don't leave the house, but bad deeds spread a thousand miles." Kairuot found himself in a bit of trouble after behaving inappropriately in public, leading to an unfavorable reputation spreading throughout the school overnight. In this era of rapid quantum light communication on Mars, if you are in the public eye, it is best to be cautious with your words and actions, as a video of you can be quickly disseminated without warning.
Despite the legal regulations in place, it is difficult to stop Martians from filming and uploading videos. As long as the videos are not fabricated, the law does not pursue them. A video of Kairuot embracing Fairleia somehow made its way onto the Light Network and quickly spread across Mars, turning Kairuot into an internet celebrity.
When Kairuot first saw that video, he thought the image of him holding Fairleia looked quite nice; if it were converted into a photo, it would surely make for a good artistic shot.
"Marrying her in the future would make for a nice wedding photo," Kairuot mused as he indulged in his daydreams while watching the video.
However, the negative consequences of the video's circulation soon became apparent to Kairuot.
A series of discussions emerged around the video, such as whether underage youth should be allowed to engage in heterosexual relationships; whether the legal marriage age for Martians should be revised to match that of Earthlings; and whether Kairuot's embrace of Fairleia was aesthetically pleasing from the best angles.
Some even boldly suggested abolishing age classifications based primarily on Cognitive Ability. They argued that once Martians reach 20 years old (considered childhood), as long as they are physically mature and have mutual feelings, their romantic affairs should not be interfered with. They could even be sent to Earth to marry and have children. If this theory were actually implemented, wouldn't it lead to chaos? It posed a challenge to Mars' scientific eugenics theory.
What Kairuot found most unbearable was that the girls at Mars Alliance School treated him like a plague, keeping their distance and avoiding any conversation with him. As for Fairleia, she expressed her deep hatred towards him; whenever they crossed paths, she looked at him like an enemy, wishing she could devour him whole.
This once proud young man, Kairuot, finally understood what it meant to fear public opinion… At this rate, he would eventually drown in everyone's spittle. If it weren't for his father intervening in this matter, who knows when it would come to an end.
Kairuot's father, Kairuoka, was the head of the Kairo Family and had graduated with outstanding results from Mars Alliance School. He was considered the most exceptional student since the school's establishment.
Gifted and talented, he had repeatedly taken advanced exams starting from middle school. His Cognitive Ability was meticulously cultivated and trained; by age 35, it had reached 100. By age 38, he had completed all his studies and graduated early, becoming a highly admired figure.
Now his son is 35 years old, yet a disgraceful video has emerged. Kairuoka, during a video call with his son, for the first time in his life, harshly scolded this precious son. Kairuot, seeing his father angry for the first time, finally showed a look of shame and lowered his head.
Despite his father's various reprimands, Kairuot did not fully take them to heart. He was more indifferent to the possibility of being sent to Earth as punishment and instead found it somewhat amusing. What made him feel ashamed and uncomfortable was how many people on Light Network compared him to Fairleya as if he were cow dung next to flowers, or a toad next to a swan.
"You can call me brain-dead and say I only deserve to live on Earth, but you cannot say I am unworthy of Fairleya!" Kairuot believed. "As the son of the Kairo Tribe leader, carrying the pride of the Kairou clan, if I am not worthy of a common beauty like Fairleya, wouldn't that be a disgrace to my family? You idle people who only gossip will see how I pursue the swan!" It seemed that Kairuot had already made up his mind to chase after Fairleya. He would secretly treasure videos related to Fairleya and quietly keep up with news about her. Being still young, he did not realize that this was what they called first love; he simply resolved to marry Fairleya.
After seeing the jokes about Kairuot's poor cognitive ability on Light Network, he scoffed: "So what if my cognitive ability is poor? There is nothing that cannot be changed. I want all Martians to know: the son of a celebrity is still a celebrity; the legendary and respected Kairuoka Chief's son will not disappoint!"
For the honor of his family and for Fairleya, Kairuot was determined to work hard!
