The Small Grove in the mountains has become less tranquil. Fair Connie often notices shadows moving on the surveillance, and these figures are short, resembling Capricornian, which raises her suspicions. She thinks: "What could be in Small Grove that attracts aliens? Waterfalls, streams, strange rocks, flowers and grass, bushes? Certainly not; the target of Capricornian should be the Mars Alliance Headquarters... It seems that the headquarters is in danger and needs to strengthen its defenses."
Having thought of this, Fei Er Connie decides to check on Small Grove. Just then, headquarters calls for her to come urgently for an important matter, so she arranges for Kairuot and Fairleya to go investigate instead.
Kairuot and Fairleya pass through Small Grove almost daily while training but rarely take the time to appreciate the scenery, thinking there is nothing suspicious and never encountering anyone. It is Kairuot who reminds her: "I heard there is a huge Gorge behind the dense thicket; very few people go there. We should check it out."
Without delay, they head off.
This morning, as they trained and passed through Small Grove, it was just dawn, shrouded in light mist, with the surroundings appearing hazy. They could only smell the rich fragrance of flowers, not paying much attention to their surroundings. Now in the afternoon, under a clear sky and sunlight, the scenery of Small Grove is fully revealed. After walking through a forest of Mountain Flowers, they navigate through caves and corridors formed by bizarre rocks and arrive at a gently flowing stream. Following the stream leads them to a massive waterfall.
Stopping beneath the waterfall, Fairleya looks up in awe: "We pass by here every day but have never truly experienced this scenery... It's so beautiful."
"Let's go; next time I'll bring you here to enjoy it properly," Kairuot jokes as he takes the girl's hand and continues deeper into Small Grove.
Soon, Kairuot leads Fairleya to an area overgrown with weeds and vines where Thorny Bushes grow thickly, making it difficult to traverse. He uses a laser to clear a path. Before long, they come upon a vast gorge.
Looking down into the gorge, Fairleya murmurs: "I can't believe there's such a huge Gorge here; if someone fell down there, they'd probably lose half their life... Huh? Kairuot, look! There seems to be someone down in that chasm."
Kairuot shakes his head: "Stop talking nonsense; how could there be anyone in this Gorge?"
"Really," Fairleya pointed and said, "there seems to be a stone platform over there, and that person is standing there."
Kairuot followed Fairleya's finger and indeed saw the person she mentioned.
"Hey, are you there?—" Fairleya cupped her hands to shout down. However, her shout startled the person below, causing them to disappear.
"Let's go down and take a look." Saying this, Kairuot leaped down into the deep ravine, and Fairleya followed.
They stood on the slope where the person had been and searched for any trace of them, but found nothing.
Fairleya said, "He has no reason to vanish without a trace; there must be somewhere to hide. Ugh, it's my fault for startling him."
As she spoke, she stomped her foot on the ground, making a loud "bang bang" sound as her foot hit the steel plate beneath.
Kairuot quickly crouched down and cleared the dirt from under his feet, soon making a judgment: "We might be on top of a spaceship. My father hid his spaceship like this on Earth too."
While they were talking, someone came up with a gun and opened fire on them.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..." The silenced laser gun bullets whizzed past them. Fortunately, both of them reacted quickly and dodged to the side. Kairuot shot back at the assailant, hitting their shoulder. With a cry of "ah," the shooter fell into the ravine.
Two more people approached from behind, both tall and muscular, wearing steel gauntlets. They charged at them aggressively. Kairuot didn't want to get entangled with them; he struck out with both palms, and with a loud "boom," one of the men was instantly knocked out. Fairleya was not to be outdone either; she retaliated in kind with both palms, causing the other man to vanish into thin air.
The tremendous sound of the "boom" echoed in the ravine, alerting the Mars Alliance Headquarters. They quickly dispatched a Mecha Unit to search the ravine. The Alien's spaceship could no longer hide in the ravine and quickly transformed and activated, flying into outer space.
Kairuot and Fairleya's Lightness Skill was impressive; they were not thrown into the abyss after the spaceship transformed. They both leaped to the edge of the Gorge, but faced with the enormous Alien Spaceship, they were helpless, merely watching as it was chased and attacked by the mechs from headquarters, driving it away from Mars.
