The two of them arrived at another part of the small house and sat facing each other. The old man took out the Fruit Wine he had brewed over many years and said, "This is the Fruit Wine I have been brewing for many years. I have cherished it and couldn't bear to drink it. The old man helped Kairuot up and asked, "Who are you?..."
"Reporting to Grandmaster, my name is Kairuot, I am the son of Kairuoka!” Kairuot stood up and said, “You are my father's master."
"So you are the son of my disciple; no wonder you can perform the Kai Ruo Grappling Technique. Ha ha! My Kai Ruo Grappling Technique has a successor!" The old man was so happy that he danced around.
Kairuot asked, "Grandmaster, what boxing technique did you use after the Grappling Technique just now?"
"It was still the Kai Ruo Grappling Technique," the old man replied. The old man continued: "My latter 36 moves of Kai Ruo Grappling Technique still follow eighteen principles for subduing enemies—grabbing, lifting, entangling, twisting, stirring, inserting, pressing points, embracing, hanging, hooking, pressing down, locking, splitting, squeezing, pushing aside, collapsing, carrying away—and they integrate with the internal skills of Kairou. Taking advantage of his tipsiness, the old man began to perform his self-created latter half of 36 moves of Kai Ruo Grappling Technique, reciting as he demonstrated: "...the flying horse intercepts from behind the neck; strike downwards to close off blood flow before the chin; celestial beings pluck pearls to lift enemies; sweeping through thousands of troops at one's chest..."
Kairuot, feeling tipsy, began to learn the boxing techniques from Grandmaster.
After retracting his fists, the old man said to Kairuot: "I have already taught you the 36 styles of Grappling Technique. How well you can utilize them depends on your own fortune from now on."
"Thank you, Grandmaster!" Kairuot clasped his fists in gratitude towards the old man.
"You didn't come here just for fun, did you? You want to go to Dragonfall Lodge, right?" Grandmaster spoke out Kairuot's thoughts.
Kairuot asked, "How did you know I was thinking about Dragonfall Lodge, Grandmaster?"
The old man replied, "Do I need to guess? This is a necessary route to Dragonfall Lodge. However, no one has come here for decades."
Kairuot inquired, "Did my father ever go to Dragonfall Lodge?"
The old man answered, "No. After he learned the Grappling Technique from me, he returned."
Kairuot asked again, "Why?"
The old man replied, "Because I had important matters for him to attend to. He said he would definitely go to Dragonfall Lodge after finishing his tasks. But he ended up waiting for decades; I still haven't seen him since. How is your father doing?"
Kairuot told Grandmaster: "My father is doing well. He often mentions you in front of me, saying that you are one of the most accomplished martial artists on Mars, alongside Fairy Bridge Elder, known as the Mars Duo."
The old man said, "Don't listen to your father's nonsense. What Mars Duo? Once you get to Dragonfall Lodge, you'll find that Grandmaster is nothing special at all. There are many talented individuals on Mars, and they all gather at Dragonfall Lodge."
Confused, Kairuot asked, "Grandmaster, is it really as magical as the legends say? Is it a good place for energy absorption, gathering qi, and practicing martial arts?"
The old man nodded and said, "Those legends are true. Olympus Mons is the tallest mountain in the solar system; it absorbs energy more powerfully than any other. Its surroundings act like a giant energy concentrator, gathering some cosmic energy there—far superior to the energy concentration of the pyramids built by the Martians. Indeed, Dragonfall Lodge is a great place for energy absorption, gathering qi, and practicing martial arts. So it's not surprising that many skilled martial artists gather there. However, I still advise you not to go there."
Kairuot asked in confusion, "Why not?"
The old man said, "Dragonfall Lodge does not welcome outsiders. I wouldn't dare provoke them there."
Kairuot said, "I'm just going there to travel, not to do anything bad. Are they really not welcoming?"
The old man replied, "No! I am a good friend of their mountain lodge owner, Belzun the Elder. I only go there a few times a year."
Kairuot said, "I've come all this way; I must see it no matter what."
Seeing Kairuot's determination, the old man's tone softened a bit as he said, "Since you are so determined to go there, I won't stop you. The old man replied, "You can only get to Dragonfall Lodge with Laka. I'm handing Laka over to you; make sure you treat it well."
Kairuot excitedly thanked him several times.
