Taking advantage of the revelry around the campfire, Kairuot quietly slipped away, moving forward along the direction of the stream that flowed beside the Lawn under the cover of night.
Today, he had no intention of returning to that little courtyard where a bride awaited… He had a premonition that if he went back, Beldan would surely force him into a corner… By then, it would be too late, and he would truly have no face to meet Fairleya again.
He also dared not go to Li Girl's home anymore, fearing it would lead her to misunderstand and think he actually liked her…
Fairleya was the girl he loved most in his heart; no one could compare to her. To avoid these two girls, he had no choice but to take this risk.
As Kairuot walked along the stream, everything around was quite peaceful. Occasionally, he encountered a few small animals foraging, merely embellishments along the way. The night sky was devoid of stars, and everything around was pitch black. Kairuot naturally possessed night vision, allowing him to see clearly in the dark, which was not a hindrance at all.
The road to Qilong Pool was difficult to navigate. Thorny bushes grew thickly, and the flowing stream seemed intent on playing hide-and-seek with Kairuot—some parts were hidden among the trees, while others wound through dense thorns and vines, making it hard to find.
Kairuot did not know how many hours he had walked; dawn was beginning to break when he finally arrived at a massive gorge. The stream flowed straight down according to the terrain, forming a huge waterfall with rushing waters that crashed against rocks with a loud sound. He guessed that below the waterfall must be Qilong Pool.
Suddenly, a fierce wind arose, whipping up sand and stones, making it impossible for Kairuot to open his eyes—within a blink, a giant dragon appeared before him. Almost instinctively, he shouted: “Dragon Slayer! Attack its—eyes! Eyes!!”
The Dragon Slayer Dagger at Kairuot's waist unsheathed in response and shot toward the dragon's eye. The dragon was blinded in one eye; when the dagger aimed for the other eye again, it was swatted away by the dragon's claw into the deep pool below.
Roaring in fury from its lost eye, the dragon unleashed a powerful jet of water toward Kairuot that knocked down several trees behind him. At the same time, it lunged at Kairuot with its massive claws and then swept its tail at him like autumn winds scattering leaves—each strike was deadly and vicious. Wherever its claws landed, deep scars were left on the ground; as its enormous tail swept through Qilong Pool, it stirred up dust and chaos, darkening the sky.
Without the dagger, Kairuot dodged the furious attacks of the giant dragon while activating his fingertip Laser Pointer. As beams of light shot out, the dragon hurriedly tried to evade them but was still hit on its tail, causing its scales to scatter. Accompanied by the dragon's anguished roar, the Nefarious Dragon swiftly dove into the Qilong Pool.
This was a very experienced old dragon. It knew that its opponent still had weapons and did not dare to attack recklessly. Instead, it retreated to its lair, hiding in a corner and waiting for an opportunity to deliver a fatal blow to Kairuot.
Seeing the dragon flee, Kairuot did not let his guard down. He channeled the Cosmic Wave Energy within him, creating a layer of Cosmic Wave Energy around himself for protection.
Sure enough, when Kairuot jumped into the dragon pool, the dragon suddenly launched an attack on him as he followed. Its claws raked fiercely at Kairuot, tossing him through the air multiple times. If it weren't for the layer of Cosmic Wave Energy protecting him, he would have been torn to shreds by the dragon.
Kairuot was tossed around like a ball in the air by the dragon, but the old dragon could not do anything to him. The old dragon had no choice but to concentrate all its energy, open its mouth wide, and unleash a painful Infrasound at Kairuot. At the same time, it spewed forth a torrent of scorching flames. This was something Kairuot had not anticipated; the Infrasound caused his brain to lose control in an instant. The flames quickly penetrated through the now uncontrollable Cosmic Wave Energy barrier. Fortunately, Kairuot still had his uniform for protection; otherwise, he would have been severely injured. Injured and panicked, Kairuot dove into the dragon pool with the dragon closely pursuing him.
Diving deep into the water, Kairuot noticed a small hole at the bottom that he could fit through. Without considering any potential dangers inside, he immediately squeezed through. The dragon arrived shortly after but could not fit its massive body inside; it could only stretch its claws toward Kairuot in an attempt to grab him.
Fearing that the dragon might eventually break through the rock wall and catch up with him, Kairuot desperately swam deeper into the hole along the bottom of the water. Twisting and turning through the cave, he finally reached a more spacious area underwater and swam upward.
His judgment proved correct as he surfaced and was pleasantly surprised to find a Treasure Land before him. Unable to contain himself, Kairuot exclaimed, "Wow! This place is truly extraordinary!"
Inside this cave were piles of gold and jewels, and it was filled with bright yellow Kiwi—this made Kairuot exceptionally excited; he had actually found Kiwi!
However, just a few seconds later, Kairuot's excitement faded as he discovered several white bones scattered throughout the cave. This realization made it clear that this was indeed the dragon's lair. The presence of moss suggested that the dragon had not visited this cave for quite some time; it was possible that after growing into a giant dragon, it could no longer enter this space.
After burying several piles of bones, Kairuot began to explore the large cave in search of herbs that could heal his burned chest wound. To his disappointment, aside from Kiwi, there was nothing but a pile of dry grass—no other plants were present. He ventured into another connected cave where he encountered an entirely different environment; it was extremely cold inside. The walls were covered with icicles and ice columns, and the water there was bone-chillingly cold. Waves of cold air rushed in, making Kairuot feel that this was not a place for anyone to linger long.
Kairuot returned to the original place, only to find the water in the cave boiling, stirring up waves of sediment. The giant dragon next door still felt resentful towards Kairuot and was causing trouble again. The roar of the dragon echoed through the water, indicating that it was desperately trying to dig out Kairuot for a final showdown.
Kairuot thought to himself, "I can't stay in this cave for long; I need to find a way out quickly."
He observed the entire cave. Aside from a faint beam of light coming from the top, he couldn't see any exit. He leaped towards the light at the top, but the cave walls were too thick and hard; with his current abilities, he couldn't break through the ceiling. Kairuot flew around the walls of the cave looking for other exits, but everything he did was in vain. This cave was a natural Cave, with bare walls that made climbing difficult.
Kairuot's only hope was to quickly increase his internal power by eating Kiwi, thereby fully activating the hidden Cosmic Wave Energy within him. The only thing holding him back was... Great-Great-Grandfather had warned him that unmarried individuals should not casually eat Kiwi, or it could lead to dire consequences.
In search of an exit, Kairuot carefully examined the surroundings once more and confirmed that the only exit was the one he had entered through. Now that entrance was blocked by the giant dragon. He knew he wouldn't stand a chance against it in a direct confrontation. The dragon, which he had blinded in one eye, was seeking revenge, and a fierce battle awaited them.
Kairuot thought, "Since I'm going to die anyway, I might as well eat Kiwi and fight the dragon; it would be worth it. Perhaps I still have a slim chance of survival."
