Bai Yujing served a cup of afternoon tea, while Dudu brought a beer. The two squeezed together on the sofa, watching Hayao Miyazaki's animated film Totoro. When Totoro appeared on the screen, Dudu's eyes widened suddenly, and he broke into a joyful laugh.
The three missions for this Neon journey included the main quest: find the legendary Center that opens the gates of Atlantis (complete) — reward 150 points; failure results in a deduction of 300 points. If points are insufficient, previously redeemed items, skills, and enhancements will be revoked.
The first side quest: find the legendary Merfolk, with a reward of 100 points.
Side Quest Two: locate Atlantis, with a reward of 50 points.
Bai Yujing only completed the main quest and did not finish either side quest. The first side quest was inherited from last time, and once again, he failed to find a living Merfolk. This was truly the biggest regret of the trip for Bai Yujing.
After submitting the main quest, Bai Yujing's remaining 20 points immediately jumped to 170 points. However, Bai Yujing did not plan to spend them right away; he decided to save them in case they were needed later.
Additionally, Bai Yujing felt it was strange that after the event ended, the remnants of Eight Hundred Nun and those monsters disappeared without a trace. It seemed like there was something suspicious about it, as if someone had gotten there first.
After thinking it over, Bai Yujing decided to let it go. The matters concerning Atlantis were becoming increasingly large and complex. Bai Yujing did not intend to get involved further. He decided to attend his uncle Li Hao's birthday banquet and then head to London, England, to see Emma.
Last time in Scotland, due to visa dates, he couldn't visit England. This time he would make up for that regret and bring Dudu along. This guy could turn invisible or maybe he could just take him on the plane? Although pet shipping was an option, considering Dudu's type, it might not pass inspection and could even cause a commotion.
Taking a sip of tea, a loud crash suddenly came from upstairs, startling Bai Yujing. He immediately ran up the stairs.
The sound seemed to have come from the third floor, which mainly housed the entertainment room and gym, along with a storage room and a spacious balcony leading directly to the Swimming Pool via wooden stairs. However, when Bai Yujing reached the third floor, he saw nothing unusual.
"Who is it? Come out immediately!" Bai Yujing shouted loudly and cautiously pushed open the door to the storage room; there was nothing inside.
Bai Yujing kicked open the gym door but still saw nothing. Just as he was puzzled about how that sound had occurred, he noticed a rope tied on the balcony facing the Swimming Pool.
Following the rope downwards, Bai Yujing saw that it hung straight down and passed right by his study window. At that moment, the study window was wide open with shattered glass; even the security bars that were originally installed outside had been removed except for one corner still attached at the top. The wind blew through, causing it to sway back and forth.
Bai Yujing immediately ran down to the study. The door to the study had been replaced with a very sturdy Security Door, and the lock was a model recommended by the owner at the time of the door replacement. The owner had said that without a key, it was absolutely impossible to get in, but opening it was also quite troublesome. Bai Yujing took out the key and turned it several times before pushing the door open and entering the study.
Bai Yujing's mouth dropped open in shock as he leaned against the wall. The study was in complete disarray; all the files and documents that had been on the bookshelf were gone, not even a scrap of Draft Paper remained on the floor. The sketches on the Blackboard and the photos that had been pinned up were also missing, leaving only an Eerie Smile drawn on it, as if mocking Bai Yujing.
"Damn it, who is this? How inconsiderate! They really went all out!" Bai Yujing cursed angrily. This person was too despicable; last time someone broke in, they quietly copied the data and tried to keep everything else intact. This was pure violent theft!
To just clear out everything from Bai Yujing's study without any regard for reason was outrageous. With a last glimmer of hope, Bai Yujing looked at the camera in the upper right corner, only to see that it had been smashed into two pieces.
Bai Yujing sat helplessly on the floor, feeling like his home had become someone else's backyard—people could come and go as they pleased! At that moment, Totoro Dudu came running over with its short, stout legs moving quickly, jumping right onto Bai Yujing's head: "Dudu! Dudu!"
Totoro Dudu had no idea what was happening. Bai Yujing felt that relying on this creature for protection was completely unreliable; he needed a truly loyal human friend—preferably a large and powerful one!

In the Tarim Basin, Base 2036, within an Underground Laboratory, the Center that had once fallen into Bai Yujing's hands was placed inside a completely sealed casing. Inside, some precision robotic arms were conducting tests on it.
"How's the hardness?" As soon as Base Commander Sun Hongqi entered, he asked the researchers in the laboratory about the 'Light Bulb' they had obtained last time. Although they still hadn't fully understood its research principles, there had been slight progress regarding its material properties. Just this small breakthrough was enough to bring about significant changes in domestic materials science.
Therefore, Sun Hongqi placed great importance on this newly arrived object related to that civilization. Not to mention that what they had obtained this time contained far higher technological content than the previous 'Light Bulb,' likely encompassing advanced technological capabilities from that unknown civilization.
"We can't measure it!" was the response they received.
"How can you not measure it?"
"We've used all methods available; we can't cause any damage or harm to it. It's continuously absorbing energy and even gradually generating a thin Energy Shield on its surface. The technology it contains has surpassed levels we can't even imagine." Even though the researcher wore a mask obscuring their face, one could sense their astonishment through their tone.
"How does it work?"
"I can't figure it out either!"
"Then where does the energy inside come from? When we first received it, there wasn't such a high level of energy reaction!"
"All the Photons near this Sphere have disappeared, and this Sphere can capture all the moving Photons around it, as if it were a black hole continuously devouring their energy!"
Sun Hongqi said in astonishment, "How is that possible?"
This technology has completely surpassed human understanding, existing only in imagination. The researchers removed their masks and lifted their headgear, revealing an elderly professor in his fifties or sixties.
"This reminds me of a rumor!" After being struck by the Light Bulb, the old professor had reached a level of awe regarding the technological advancement of this unknown civilization. He had recently reviewed a lot of materials to facilitate his research progress.
Sun Hongqi immediately asked, "What rumor?"
"Magnetite!" The old professor said to Sun Hongqi.
Sun Hongqi had certainly heard of this name. "But isn't it something fictional? How could it possibly exist?"
"But it's right here!" The old professor pointed at the blue crystal ball inside the casing.
