After two days of traveling, Bai Yujing once again arrived at the top of this prehistoric lake. When they set out, there were seven people, but now only six remained. The middle-aged man with frostbite on his face had suddenly felt short of breath and feverish yesterday, and during the night, he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He did not survive until this morning.
It was Liu Hai who discovered his death, and the sight was quite horrific; his nose had fallen off, and his body was mottled blue and purple. Liu Hai was so frightened that he screamed loudly. His mental state had been unstable over the past two days, and at this moment, he was dazedly lagging at the back of the group, dragging behind by several miles.
If it weren't for his usefulness later on, Catherine would have likely abandoned him from the team long ago. Their journey had been slow and stop-and-go, which led to growing dissatisfaction among the members of Catherine's team towards Liu Hai. Paul had even verbally attacked him earlier in the morning. Logically, Bai Yujing should have felt happy and relieved, but he couldn't bring himself to feel that way.
Bai Yujing pointed below: "This is it. According to my speculation, this should be the location of Atlantis Royal City, Poseidonia!"
Catherine immediately began preparing ropes as everyone descended along the ice cliff and stepped onto this piece of land. However, at the moment they landed, a man named John seemed to notice something and pointed to a footprint on the ground while speaking to Catherine.
Bai Yujing looked down and immediately noticed several large footprints beneath his feet—various sizes, with some being over two shoe lengths of Bai Yujing. This was quite astonishing. Could it be that the companion of the previously missing White-Furred Giant had come looking for it?
Catherine quickly asked, "Bai Yujing, what kind of animal made these footprints?"
Bai Yujing replied, "A gigantic creature, somewhat similar to the legendary Yeti!"
"Yeti?" Catherine frowned; she had heard rumors about the Yeti before!
Catherine immediately turned to discuss with John. John quickly asked, "Have you encountered them? What characteristics do these monsters have? Or do they have any special traits or weaknesses?"
At this moment, Liu Hai stepped forward to assert his presence: "We encountered such a monster on our way before; it was over two meters tall, very strong, and covered in white fur!"
Bai Yujing nodded: "That's right. However, it seems that these creatures do not like sunlight. Other than that, I am not sure about their weaknesses; I have never fought them!"
Bai Yujing did not tell the whole truth here; however, Catherine and John were unaware of this. After discussing among themselves, they each received a firearm and a Flashbang, while Bai Yujing and Liu Hai did not get any.
Continuing onward through darkness for most of the day, everyone gradually approached the heart of this prehistoric lake. Catherine planned to set up camp here and search for related ruins because Bai Yujing mentioned that Poseidonia might be located at the bottom. Catherine also brought out the only four sets of diving suits from Kunlun Station.

Day One: Catherine led the team to explore five nearby ice crevices but found nothing.
Day Two: While exploring, Paul accidentally fell into an ice crevice. Although he didn't fall all the way down due to being secured by ropes in pairs, he still got injured and dislocated his left arm.
Day Three—
Bai Yujing slowly advanced along the rope and discovered dense footprints of a Giant Monster on an ice field. Near the footprints, Bai Yujing saw a massive crack resembling a great gorge, with an ice fissure several dozen meters wide that seemed to have opened a huge mouth in the ground, the darkness at the bottom exuding a slight chill.
Yellow Sea followed beside Bai Yujing and noticed a change in Bai Yujing's expression, immediately realizing what Bai Yujing had discovered: "Here, here!"
Paul and John rushed over, shining their flashlights down to the bottom, but it was bottomless. John quickly handed the flashlight to Paul, reached out to grab a flare stick, lit it, and threw it down into the depths.
"One, two, three!"
As they counted, John fell silent. Paul looked at John and asked, "What's wrong?"
John shook his head: "We haven't reached the bottom; the depth might exceed eight hundred meters!"
Not long after, Catherine arrived after receiving the message. She looked down into the massive ice fissure and then turned to Bai Yujing: "Is this the place?"
Bai Yujing shook his head: "I'm not sure either!"
Although Bai Yujing said this, deep down he was already certain. Mainly because of the numerous Giant Monster footprints around, Bai Yujing could confirm that it was related to Atlantis. With such a large ice fissure combined with the footprints, Bai Yujing felt confident that this should be the path leading to the Atlantis Ruins.
Catherine immediately made up her mind: "Everyone, come here! Let's go down and explore first; we need to use all our available ropes!"
Everyone acted together and soon saw a basket being assembled in front of the ice fissure. After days of exploring the fissure, this simple hoist made from sled steel plates was naturally put into use.
Catherine looked at everyone present: "Who is willing to go down first to investigate?"
Paul immediately stepped forward: "I’m willing to go down first!"
Catherine smiled and nodded: "Thank you for your hard work, Paul!"
Paul instantly seemed energized; despite his left hand being injured, he stood straight and saluted: "It's no trouble at all, Commander Catherine!"
Catherine couldn't help but laugh. Paul appeared somewhat dazed as if he were willingly stepping into a fiery hell. Meanwhile, John turned his head away as if he had seen this scene many times before, muttering something about deadly red lips.
As Yellow Sea and John continuously lowered the ropes, Paul descended with a flashlight while John calculated the depth: "One hundred meters!"
"How is it? Paul, respond if you hear me!" Catherine immediately asked.
Paul's voice immediately came through the microphone: "Everything is normal, nothing unusual! Wait, there seem to be signs of damage on the Ice Wall, it looks like... claw marks!"
"Continue to maintain communication!"
As the rope continued to descend, five hundred meters, six hundred meters, until it reached its maximum length of eight hundred meters: "Paul, do you see anything?"
Paul shone his flashlight downwards: "It seems to go very deep down here. The crack widens as it goes deeper. I am already quite far from the Ice Wall. Above the Ice Wall, it looks like something is embedded in it at a slant! No, the rope seems to have snapped. No, Catherine, John!"
"Bang, hiss!"
John and Liu Hai felt a lightness in their hands and quickly pulled the rope back, but it seemed too late. When they fully reeled in the rope, they found that it had snapped in the middle.
John looked at the footprints around and immediately had a bad feeling: "Catherine, where we are standing now... could it be a monster's lair?"
Suddenly, vibrations came from the Ice Wall, causing the entire Ice Surface to tremble. Catherine seemed to hear a low growl of some beast approaching.
Feeling uneasy, Catherine and John looked down together and saw under the light that giant white monsters were climbing up through the ice crevices, grasping at the Ice Wall like monkeys, already just a few dozen meters away from the Ice Surface.
The light illuminated one of the Giant Monsters' heads, and it immediately showed a look of disgust. Its fierce face seemed to notice Catherine and let out an angry roar!
"Roar!" The enormous roar nearly knocked Liu Hai to the ground.
