With the established navigation route, the Sky City gradually reached the central Floating Island at the very top, stopping in a plaza. Bai Yujing and others followed Loran down in succession; this was their first time truly stepping onto Fairy Island.
On this Floating Island, the most striking feature was a lake that occupied more than half of the island's area. The lake resembled a mirror, with streams and waterfalls radiating outwards, flowing down from the top level of the Floating Island, layer by layer, delivering water to every island.
The architecture on the island had a fairy tale style, with numerous small villages visible around the lake's perimeter. A large number of Fairy Clan resided there, with windmills, workshops, and various facilities producing different items. Bai Yujing could sense a complete fairy society, a civilization distinct from that of humans.
These villages, large and small, were built around the rivers flowing from the lake. Wooden houses lined the pebble-strewn streets, and flowers bloomed abundantly across the hills.
Bai Yujing settled directly on a spot in the center of the lake. As they approached, Bai Yujing discovered that beneath their feet lay an enormous tree trunk, far larger than they could have imagined. The vast Sky City rested on one of its branches, which seemed like a plain, featuring plazas and avenues that accommodated many people coming and going.
The entire city was situated atop this colossal tree. Buildings and people were everywhere—on the trunk, between branches, and within tree hollows. Bai Yujing could see staircases accommodating many individuals moving up and down; everyone here lived on this giant tree, which felt utterly incredible.
After Loran arrived here, he brought only a few subordinates with him and had no guards as he led Bai Yujing and others down from the Sky City. Most of the fairies remained atop the Sky City to rest and inspect preparations for their next voyage.
However, Bai Yujing noticed that several other Sky Cities were also approaching this central Floating Island, likely preparing to land soon as well. Was it because of their group?
As Loran walked ahead, Bai Yujing began to observe the Fairy Clan. Life here was somewhat different from what they had imagined—delicate and intricate yet completely integrated with nature.
A main avenue ran through the center of the trunk, flanked by various shops, houses, and clock towers. Some children from the Fairy Clan zipped past the guards, circling around Loran a couple of times. Loran paid them no mind and patted their heads.
Everything here felt very peaceful and tranquil. As they approached the main trunk, the city's core came into view; it appeared to be an enormous Holy Oak. The thick trunk spread outwards but was relatively low compared to its size.
Bai Yujing and others walked downhill along the branch towards the center where they saw a magnificent city constructed within it. All branches had pathways leading to this place, surrounding it protectively.
"This is Fairy City!" Loran said to Bai Yujing and Bivis. After they arrived, the two groups clearly divided into two factions, walking on either side.
Bivis immediately asked, "So, is the Fountain of Life here as well?"
Loran nodded, "That's right, but you won't be able to see it yet. Your matters will have to wait until the council approves them. I have already informed the members of the Fairy Clan council to participate in this meeting, and you will also be able to attend as observers!"
"Bai Yujing, do you have any questions?" Loran asked as he looked at Bai Yujing.
Bai Yujing glanced at the enormous tree, "Is this the legendary Holy Oak?"
Loran hadn't expected that Bai Yujing would ask this, but he still answered, "Yes, this is the Holy Oak. A thousand years ago, everything here was green, and the leaves of the Holy Oak covered every place. This was the center of the entire Island of Life. I really miss those times. Later, when the Fountain of Life withered, the Island of Life began to fragment little by little. As the Lake Fairy Clan continued to decrease, we could no longer sustain the existence of the entire Fairy Clan. So now, the Island of Life has become what is now known as Fairy Island, barely maintained by a few remaining Lake Fairies!"
"If we cannot reactivate the Fountain of Life and restore vitality to the Holy Oak, when our generation of Lake Fairies returns to nature, I'm afraid that Fairy Island will cease to exist!"
After hearing this, Emma was very surprised and opened her mouth wide. "Has it become this tense?"
Loran nodded, "So your arrival this time is very important to us. You are all our esteemed guests. In any case, please follow me to meet the Speaker. She should have some questions for you!"
Bivis and others immediately put on a sad expression, indicating that they would definitely help the Fairy Clan. However, Loran smiled slightly but gave a deep look at Bai Yujing.
Bivis and others were very pleased; it seemed that this operation would go very smoothly. With the Golden Disc, they would surely gain the support of these Fairies. As for Bai Yujing and his group—hmm, without the Golden Disc, they were nothing.
Determined, Bivis planned to find an opportunity to meet with the leaders of the Fairy Clan, using the Golden Disc as leverage to get them to help control Bai Yujing and his group, seizing their Merlin's Staff and Magic Bean. This was a strategy they had discussed beforehand; if that didn't work out, they would have to resort to a more risky second plan.
Entering from the city, Bai Yujing could see various shops lining the streets. The Fairies loved to decorate their stores in a flashy manner, especially the signs. Bai Yujing noticed a variety of artistic signs made of wood, metal, and rattan.
After passing through the bustling streets, they finally stopped in a quieter area at the center, facing a small three-story building. The stone structure was not particularly eye-catching on this street.
However, what drew attention was the number of guards present; four soldiers stood at the entrance, and there were patrols moving around.
"We've arrived, the Council Hall is right here. Follow me upstairs; the Speaker is waiting for you!" Loran led Bai Yujing and the others up.
Bai Yujing never expected that the highest institution of Fairy Island would be such a small place. While it couldn't be called shabby, compared to palaces or grand halls, it felt rather modest and less impressive than the Inspector General's Residence in Sky City!
Although the building wasn't tall, the stairs in front of the main door were quite steep. Bai Yujing and the others climbed for quite some time before reaching the top. Inside the Council Hall, it seemed that there weren't many people. As Bai Yujing walked through, it felt somewhat empty. In the reception room on the second floor, Bai Yujing encountered the highest authority of Fairy Island, the Speaker of the Fairy Council!
