The flames danced in the campfire, and the mountains were eerily quiet. For some reason, it felt as if these mountains were even larger than they appeared through the thick fog during the day. Everyone gathered around the fire, roasting themselves.
"Yun? Lao Qi, if I remember correctly, isn't the capital of the Ancient Mi Kingdom called Yun?" After Bai Yujing finished speaking, Zhong Qiang immediately turned to Lao Qi.
Lao Qi took a big sip of Hot Soup from a Porcelain Bowl and nodded. "Yes, that's what it's called. However, that was a long time ago; I didn't expect to see it for real this time. It was really frightening earlier when those ghostly things chased us out. Are we sure we didn't actually run into the Underworld?"
Bai Yujing looked at Xu Lei and asked with a smile, "You seemed to say something interesting earlier about us falling into the cracks of the Underworld? If I remember correctly, you said that, right?"
Everyone had been too busy escaping earlier to think much about it, but now that Bai Yujing mentioned it, all eyes turned to Xu Lei, especially Lao Qi and Zhong Qiang. After exchanging glances, Lao Qi made a subtle gesture while Zhong Qiang nodded slightly.
Xu Lei chuckled awkwardly and said, "I never said that. Bai Yujing, you must have misheard me."
Bai Yujing shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I have excellent hearing, so I never mishear what others say!"
Xu Lei wanted to continue arguing but before she could speak, Bai Yujing pressed on with her questioning: "From the very beginning, I found it strange why you kept following us into the mountains. What's even stranger is that I can't tell direction in here; it's exhausting to walk around. Yet you managed to catch up with us easily. You must have great stamina!"
Xu Lei shifted uncomfortably under Bai Yujing's gaze and replied, "I exercise regularly, so my stamina is decent!"
Bai Yujing continued, "So that bear was chasing you? And those Cavalry from Fallen City weren't after us four either because we don't have that much appeal. So I guess you must be special or carrying something unique. No wonder you wanted to stick with us; you were using us as a shield!"
"And one more thing I'm curious about..." As soon as Bai Yujing finished this sentence, she suddenly turned around and quickly pulled out her gun, aiming it at Zhong Qiang behind her. At that moment, Zhong Qiang was holding a handgun when Bai Yujing shot at his gun, causing it to fly out of his hand and drop to the ground. The force of the impact made Zhong Qiang's hand bleed profusely as he lost grip on his weapon. Bai Yujing then kicked Zhong Qiang to the ground and aimed her gun at Lao Qi, who was still holding a Shotgun without raising it.
The sudden turn of events caught Li Hao and Xu Lei off guard. Xu Lei, being clever and quick-witted, attempted to run but was grabbed by Bai Yujing and pulled into her embrace. The fierce image of Bai Yujing from earlier and her brutal method of dealing with the giant bear echoed in Xu Lei's mind, causing her to scream in terror.
“Boss Bai, White Great Demon, don’t kill me, I was wrong!” Xu Lei struggled as Bai Yujing held her tightly with one hand against her chest. Bai Yujing ignored her and said to Li Hao, “Li Hao, go pick up their guns!”
Bai Yujing kept the gun trained on the two of them while Li Hao successfully retrieved a Shotgun and a handgun, returning to Bai Yujing’s side. Zhong Qiang covered his injured hand and looked at Bai Yujing, saying, “You really suspected us from the start. Can I ask when we showed our flaws?”
Bai Yujing didn’t mind telling them, “To be precise, you two didn’t show any flaws. I noticed the vehicle carrying Lin Ruoqiao and several others heading into the mountains at the station on Laojun Mountain. All of them were from the Endangered Species Conservation Organization, Shennongjia Branch.”

Lao Qi immediately looked at Zhong Qiang, “Qiangzi, you promised the Minister. You can’t betray us!”
Zhong Qiang waved his hand dismissively, “Enough with the Minister. Speaking of which, I’m still a Minister of Changbai Mountain Division. I’m on equal footing with your Minister. We’re just using the tiger skin of the Endangered Species Conservation Organization to get things done. Your Minister isn’t any better either; using me as a scapegoat.
