In the mist, a group of people was moving forward with lanterns in hand, followed by a swarm of sneaky shadows. To be honest, it felt quite like a procession of spirits. At that moment, Li Hao, holding the lantern, said, "Why do I feel like we're playing Don't Starve?"
"It seems there's a city ahead!" Bai Yujing suddenly noticed something.
"What city?"
"Why does it feel somewhat familiar?"
As the thick fog dissipated, they immediately saw a large city standing beside the wide ancient road. An ancient hieroglyph was inscribed on the city walls. Li Hao felt it looked increasingly familiar: "This place, we seem to have been here before?"
Zhong Qiang immediately said, "Isn't this the ancient capital of the Ancient Mi Kingdom, Fallen City? What's going on? How did we end up back here?"
Bai Yujing looked around: "It's not that we've come back here; it's that this city was always here. It just became visible to the outside world due to the mist. And it seems like we’re about to start running again!"
As soon as Bai Yujing finished speaking, they saw the ancient Fallen City's wide gates open slightly. The sounds of armor and beastly roars echoed in their ears once more. Bai Yujing saw the Donkey-Headed Wolf Cavalry again, but this time they appeared even taller and more formidable, wielding Copper Hammers.
However, before Bai Yujing could take two steps away, a group of cavalry surrounded them completely. Looking at the fierce and terrifying creatures encircling them, Bai Yujing and the others began to panic.
Li Hao shouted loudly, "Don't be afraid! We have the copper lantern; these guys won't dare come near!"
Sure enough, as Li Hao said, those creatures circled around them but did not dare to approach. The dim light seemed to have little effect on them; they merely circled like predators waiting for an opportunity.
Li Hao held the lantern while everyone hid behind him, as if playing a game of eagle catching chicks. They kept turning in circles while these creatures blocked their way completely, leaving Bai Yujing and the others unable to advance or retreat!
"What should we do? We can't move forward. What do they mean by wanting us to enter the city?"
"Can we even enter this city? Once inside, there's only a dead end!"
Bai Yujing glanced back. This fallen city was situated deep in the mountains, seemingly guarding an important entrance. Perhaps the Ancient Mi Kingdom was also descended from the Kuaiwei Clan, just like the Mountain Spirit, having an inexplicable connection with the Kuaiwei Clan. However, the Mountain Spirit Clan had survived through the ages due to its miraculous life characteristics, while the Ancient Mi Kingdom gradually assimilated with other ethnic groups and slowly faded into history.

Suddenly, a silver arrow shot through the sky, flashing through the darkness and piercing through the head of one Cavalry member. After two sharp whimpers, they transformed into a cloud of black smoke and dissipated.
With that first arrow as a signal, a torrential rain of arrows descended upon them, instantly turning this group of Cavalry into a sieve. In the blink of an eye, a powerful and seemingly invincible Donkey-Headed Wolf Cavalry vanished into thin air, dissolving into black mist without leaving a trace.
At this moment, Bai Yujing immediately noticed figures leaping towards them from afar at incredible speed, appearing before Bai Yujing and his companions in an instant. These individuals wore coarse linen clothing and carried primitive weapons on their backs while aiming bows and arrows at Bai Yujing and his group.
Seeing the sharp arrowheads and the longbows drawn to a crescent shape made Bai Yujing and Li Hao swallow hard. These archers were no less formidable than those with guns; judging by how those arrows had rained down earlier, they were all hitting their targets—true marksmen! Surrounded by so many of them, Bai Yujing and his companions had no thoughts of escape.
"It's the Mountain Spirit!" Lin Ruoqiao whispered anxiously behind Bai Yujing. "We have offended them severely before; are we going to die now?"
Bai Yujing observed these individuals' exposed appearances and attitudes; they resembled the Mountain Spirits patrolling the mountain paths earlier. He hadn't seen them in the Mountain Spirit Village before but didn't expect to encounter them here again. Had these beings also been brought here?
Bai Yujing immediately thought of that terrifying woman—she wouldn't appear here too, would she? Just as this thought crossed his mind, he saw a row of ghostly flames emerging from the mist in the distance. A large group of Mountain Spirits appeared before Bai Yujing.
Far beyond the previous Cavalry team, the Mountain Spirit appeared before Bai Yujing and the others, carrying lanterns and marching in an orderly line, slowly advancing in this world. Li Hao, holding a lantern, stood at the front: "Are we just out of the wolf's den and into the tiger's lair? We just lost a fierce wave, and now another one even fiercer is coming!"
Li Hao immediately handed the lantern to Bai Yujing: "Old Bai, you should take the lead. I'm scared when I see this woman!"
Bai Yujing held the Bronze Lantern in his hand and immediately noticed that the light from the Bronze Lantern became brighter, illuminating a wider area, shining in the darkness like a daylight Light Bulb. Bai Yujing didn't expect that this object would exhibit such power in his hands. It seemed that the strength of the power displayed by the Bronze Lantern varied according to the strength of its wielder's spirit. Previously, it had been held by Li Hao, and he hadn't realized it.
Holding the lantern, Bai Yujing watched as the Mountain Spirit team gradually stopped in front of the ancient capital of Ancient Mi Kingdom. Four strong Mountain Spirits were carrying a Wooden Rack, on which sat a woman.
The woman was dressed in a full Da Hong Pao, with a half-masked Mask covering her face. She slightly moved her fingers, and Bai Yujing immediately felt himself being lifted: "Hey, hey, hey, you guys, don't be impulsive! Don't shoot!"
Bai Yujing was startled as he was brought before the woman, collapsing onto the rack. The vehicle carried by the Mountain Spirit remained steady under her feet; even with Bai Yujing landing on it, it didn't sway at all. The first thing he saw upon falling was a pair of small feet resembling white jade, with slightly red toenails on elongated toes. Then he noticed long legs hidden beneath a bright red skirt.
Bai Yujing swallowed hard and looked up to see the woman's face. She lowered her head, and through the Mask, he could see a pair of questioning eyes: "Are you a god?"
