Someone knocked on Bai Yujing's car window. Bai Yujing was taken aback and rolled down the window, only to see this guy throw something inside from outside. Bai Yujing froze for a moment and immediately realized that what was thrown in was a grenade.
Bai Yujing was so scared that he lost his composure, pushed open the car door, and lunged to the ground. After waiting for a while, he heard no noise at all. When he turned around, he found that the guy on the motorcycle was laughing heartily.
"Bai Yujing, I didn't expect you to be so timid. I remember you were quite bold!"
A familiar voice came from beneath the bright red helmet. The guy took off his helmet, shook his hair, and let his smooth black hair fall freely as he leaned against the front of the bike, teasingly looking at Bai Yujing with a raised eyebrow.
Bai Yujing stood up and frowned. "Catherine, you really have some guts to show up in front of me. Aren't a lot of people in the country looking for you? Aren't you afraid I'll just capture you and hand you over to them?"
Catherine shrugged her shoulders. "Those fools can't catch me. As for you, would you really dare to capture me?"
As Catherine said this, she licked her lips, her agile tongue brushing over her red lips, exuding an alluring aura. However, Bai Yujing wasted no time and charged forward, grabbing Catherine's arm. Catherine immediately flipped over, wrapping her legs around Bai Yujing's waist and her arms around his neck. Bai Yujing instinctively leaned back while striking with his elbow.
Catherine slipped away like a snake in an instant. Bai Yujing quickly flipped over and stood up again. After their brief exchange, Bai Yujing realized he hadn't gained any advantage; although his physical strength far surpassed Catherine's, her agility and speed were superior.
"You're really ruthless, not even a hint of nostalgia."
"I have no ties with you. Every time you come knocking, it's never for anything good. You should leave quickly; you must have some plan now that you're back in China, but it has nothing to do with me. Don't think about dragging me into it."
After saying this, Bai Yujing looked at Catherine and sensed something different: "Have you injected Hyperactive Cell Serum?"
Catherine was taken aback for a moment. "You can even sense that? Of course! This is a potion that can drive every woman crazy. Just one injection can keep you vibrant for another hundred or two hundred years. Even if you live to be over a hundred years old, you'll still look like an eighteen-year-old girl. It grants immunity to most diseases and provides incredible vitality and recovery abilities. How could I not find a way to get my hands on it? So, what do you think? The effects are pretty good, right? Am I not looking much more beautiful?"
"I just feel like things have become a lot more troublesome!" Bai Yujing said, staring at Catherine.
After her surprise, Catherine picked up the helmet from the ground again. With her tall figure and graceful strides, she walked past Bai Yujing. "I heard you went to Shennongjia recently? How was it? Did you find Jianmu and the Celestial Palace?"
Bai Yujing glanced at Catherine. "There was no Jianmu or Celestial Palace there, and I didn't go there to look for anything. I just went in to save someone!"
Catherine shrugged. "Oh, I remember now. You went to save my lovely student, Lin Ruo Qiao. She's such a delightful child; just thinking about her makes me nostalgic!"
Bai Yujing's expression immediately turned hostile. "If you dare to touch them, Li Hao and I will hunt you down worldwide. You can try and see our wrath!"
Catherine's expression changed slightly. "Oh, a leader of a multinational corporation and an adventurer with an arm comparable to the top mercenaries—how intimidating! But I want to collaborate with you!"
Without a second thought, Bai Yujing immediately refused. "I have no interest in collaborating with you!"
Catherine got into her car and quickly tossed a backpack over her shoulder. After Bai Yujing caught it, he looked at Catherine. "What do you mean by this?"
Catherine shrugged again. "We couldn't crack the secret, so we thought of you. You're the expert; there's nothing that can stump you, Adventurer Bai Yujing. We believe you'll give us the results we want. Anyway, the item is in your hands. Even if we don't ask you to uncover its secrets, someone else will find you. The outcome will be the same; the item has been handed over to you. Bye now!"
Bai Yujing opened the backpack and found a Bronze Tripod inside. However, it was different from those large tripods and bronze artifacts in museums. After thousands of years, this small tripod still looked brand new and felt somewhat similar to the Azure Copper Gourd that Bai Yujing had obtained earlier—the vessel used by Chisongzi to hold Water Essence.
Bai Yujing's expression darkened as he looked at Catherine, who immediately stepped on the gas and turned around to flee, disappearing in an instant. Holding onto the package felt like holding a hot potato; keeping it was difficult, but throwing it away was not an option either.
Bai Yujing frowned, grabbed the backpack, and climbed into the car. He then picked up the Grenade. Previously thinking it was just a toy grenade, he realized upon picking it up that it was actually real—just not armed yet.
Bai Yujing's face turned dark: "This crazy woman!"
After tidying up, Bai Yujing immediately called Qian Jia to tell her about what had just happened. After listening quietly, Qian Jia said, "You wait at home for me. I'll rush over to you right away and will be there by tomorrow!"
Bai Yujing quickly asked, "You're coming directly? This is a task for another team in your department; isn't that crossing the line?"
Qian Jia replied assertively, "Our department has never had such a thing as crossing the line. Whoever grabs the mission gets it!"
Then Qian Jia spoke softly, "I've checked this time. It's a large international crime syndicate operating domestically. It's a big case, and many countries abroad are after them. If we can catch them, it would be a significant achievement—promotions and raises are definitely on the table!"
Bai Yujing smirked, "I didn't expect you to be such a power-hungry person!"
Qian Jia was displeased: "What I have is ambition, unlike you who just eats and waits to die, wandering around all day. We have nothing in common. Wait for me at home; I'll be there tomorrow!"
Bai Yujing nodded, "Alright, call me when you arrive!"
After hanging up the phone, Bai Yujing recalled what Qian Jia had just said about a large international crime syndicate. It surely had something to do with Catherine; wherever that woman went, trouble followed.
However, Bai Yujing was more interested in what this crime syndicate and Catherine were after. Was it the Immortality Elixir? To be honest, they already had the Hyperactive Cell Serum. Although it hadn't entered mass production yet, many wealthy individuals had already started enjoying it through connections and channels. Didn't Catherine already use it?
In comparison, what use could an elusive Immortality Elixir have? What were they really looking for? Bai Yujing couldn't quite understand!
