Death Grip
“Hate Emperor, how about going to the Hate Sea Region? After all, that's your territory, and you should be familiar with it.” Xing Chen said after a moment of silence.
“Child, you need to think carefully. If you go to the Hate Sea Region, you'll have to cross the entire Nine Nether Sea Region. The area where the Nine Nether Sea Region meets the Nine Heavens Sea has the Underworld Abyss. Once you enter there, even a strong person like Gaze of Fate cannot guarantee they will come out alive,” Hate Emperor replied.
“High risk, high reward. Once I reach the Hate Sea Region, I can also obtain your Inheritance, right?” Xing Chen said with a slight smile.
“So you’re after my Inheritance!” Hate Emperor realized, understanding why Xing Chen was willing to take such a big risk to go to the Hate Sea Region; it turned out he was eyeing his Inheritance.
“Let’s go! We’ll head to the Hate Sea Region. Once I get something there, we’ll return to the Eastern Region,” Xing Chen said, looking at Meng Xiner, while ignoring Hate Emperor's words.
“Hate Sea Region?” Meng Xiner blinked in confusion. She didn’t know much about the sea regions, only that the current place was called the Nine Heavens Sea, and she was unaware of anything else.
“Yes, the Hate Sea Region. Is there a problem?” Xing Chen nodded and then looked at Meng Xiner.
“No problem, but do you know the way?” Meng Xiner hesitated and asked. She was genuinely worried that Xing Chen might not know the route and could get lost in the vast ocean.
“Of course I know! Just follow me!” Xing Chen smiled and thought, “Hate Emperor, quickly show me the way.”
“Peat, what do you take me for? Just because you ask for directions doesn’t mean I’ll tell you! I won’t tell you where the Hate Sea Region is; let’s see what you can do about it!” Hate Emperor said angrily.
“Can’t we play nicely together anymore, Hate Emperor? Hurry up and give directions!” Xing Chen said, feeling somewhat helpless.
“Just head directly south. Make sure it’s directly south; that’s where the Underworld Abyss is weakest and easiest to pass through,” Hate Emperor finally relented and stopped putting on airs.
“Let’s go! We’ll head south. At our speed, we’ll soon reach the junction between the Nine Heavens Sea and the Nine Nether Sea Region, which is the Underworld Abyss,” Xing Chen said.
“Okay.” Meng Xiner nodded and then tore through space alongside Xing Chen, directly traversing through the void.
In almost an instant, they had already traveled thousands of miles away, and the Underworld Abyss was only a few hundred thousand miles from their current location. At their current speed, reaching the Underworld Abyss would only require crossing the void a few dozen times.
However, traversing the void consumed a great deal of energy. With their current strength, they could only cross the void continuously about ten times before exhausting themselves.
Moreover, tearing through the void was a dangerous endeavor; one careless moment could lead to encountering a Spatial Storm, resulting in death. Therefore, ordinary travelers would not directly tear open the void to traverse space unless faced with an extremely urgent situation. However, Xing Chen and his companion were clearly fearless; after ten consecutive crossings, they were already over a hundred thousand miles away from Yellow Island.
“Tsk tsk, you truly are extraordinary. One of you is at the Initial Stage of Self-Observation, and the other is at the Half-Step Soul-Searching Realm. To dare to traverse the void continuously like this is quite impressive!” Hate Emperor remarked.
“What do you mean by that?” Xing Chen could clearly sense that Hate Emperor was speaking with double meanings.
“Nothing much, just somewhat impressed by your courage and luck. To have crossed the void so many times without encountering a Spatial Storm is indeed fortunate. Your bravery is commendable; even a strong individual at the Peak of Fate Observation Realm wouldn’t dare to traverse the void as you have,” Hate Emperor replied.
“Damn it, if you knew all this, why didn’t you say so earlier?” Xing Chen was startled by Hate Emperor's words and shouted angrily.
“You didn’t ask me, and I saw you seemed to be enjoying traversing the void, so I didn’t want to interrupt,” Hate Emperor laughed.
“Peat, you almost got me killed! Is there any other way besides traversing the void that can get us quickly to the Hate Sea Region?” Xing Chen asked.
“Yes, find the Ancient Times Teleportation Array that leads to the Hate Sea Region, and you can reach it in an instant,” Hate Emperor said nonchalantly.
“Stop with these useless suggestions; give me something practical,” Xing Chen knew that this method was impossible, so he spoke up immediately.
“There’s another method: you can fly over slowly. But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing; you can take the opportunity to communicate with your partner,” Hate Emperor chuckled.
“Damn it, a dog can’t spit out ivory! I don’t need your advice to fly slowly!” Xing Chen cursed again and ignored Hate Emperor, calling him a Rascal.
“Wait a minute…” Xing Chen stopped Meng Xiner, then said, “We can’t keep traversing the void like this. I just realized that it’s very dangerous; if we happen to encounter a Spatial Storm, we could both die here.”
“Spatial Storm? I actually forgot about that. Fortunately, we were lucky and didn't really encounter a Spatial Storm, or it would have been over for us.” Meng Xiner seemed to suddenly remember something, sticking out her tongue and glancing at Xing Chen with a hint of embarrassment.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Luckily, we didn’t run into any danger,” Xing Chen said, secretly wiping the cold sweat from his brow, feeling distressed internally but maintaining a calm demeanor.
“What should we do now? We are still quite far from your Underworld Abyss. If we rely solely on ordinary flying, it might take about a month to reach Underworld Abyss, and you can’t fly long distances,” Meng Xiner said, her brows slightly furrowed.
“Let’s just take it slow! There’s no other way,” Xing Chen replied with a bitter smile.
For some time afterward, Xing Chen and Meng Xiner flew slowly over the vast ocean. Since Xing Chen was not yet a strong practitioner of Gaze of Fate, he could only manage short-distance flights. If it weren't for Meng Xiner helping him along the way, he would have likely exhausted himself and drowned in the endless sea.
After more than twenty minutes, Xing Chen and Meng Xiner sat in a wooden boat, gliding forward. Because Xing Chen could only fly a very short distance, Meng Xiner, in her frustration, directly made this wooden boat. Both of them sat in the boat, slowly heading towards Underworld Abyss.
Suddenly, the wooden boat entered an endless sea area, and Xing Chen looked up to see that the waters ahead seemed to be shrouded in endless dark clouds. As they approached this area, an oppressive feeling washed over them.
“This is the Underworld Abyss. If I remember correctly, there should be an Underworld Island within the Underworld Abyss. However, the island is inhabited by a group of desperate fugitives. If it's not necessary, it's best not to linger there,” Hate Emperor slowly reminded them.
“Underworld Island?” Xing Chen’s gaze flickered slightly. He was not familiar with this place, and what Hate Emperor knew was from tens of thousands of years ago. Therefore, his words might not necessarily be accurate; after all, who knows what changes have occurred here over tens of thousands of years?
“Do not doubt my words; otherwise, you will surely regret it,” Hate Emperor warned.
“Okay, I will be careful,” Xing Chen nodded in response.
“And remember, no matter who or what you encounter inside, don’t get involved too much. If someone really attacks you, don’t hold back; just kill them directly,” Hate Emperor reiterated.
“Do I look like the kind of person who is soft-hearted?” Xing Chen said with a slight smile.
“Alright then, consider it my unnecessary advice. Once you enter the Underworld Abyss, just remember two things: kill anyone who causes trouble and don’t get involved in unrelated matters,” Hate Emperor said.
"I have one great trait: I don't like to meddle in others' affairs. Moreover, I have always been someone who eliminates threats at their roots. If someone provokes me, I will make them aware of the consequences of their actions," Xing Chen said, his eyes gleaming coldly.
"Is that the Underworld Abyss over there?" Meng Xiner suddenly asked.
"That's right, that's the Underworld Abyss. Let's go!" Xing Chen said as he soared into the air, lightly landing on the surface of the sea. His body seemed weightless, standing on the water without any intention of sinking.
"Do you want to fly? I can carry you," Meng Xiner said with a giggle as she looked at Xing Chen.
"Forget it, I'll just walk," Xing Chen replied with a slight twitch of his mouth. He recalled how he had never flown very far before, often falling from the sky and ending up soaked, while Meng Xiner would only come to his aid after he had plunged into the water. This had left him with some lingering fears about flying.
"Hehe, let's go together!" Meng Xiner laughed as she approached Xing Chen.
"Alright, together," Xing Chen nodded resignedly. Then, he and Meng Xiner walked toward the Underworld Abyss.
As they gradually delved deeper into the Underworld Abyss, the black mist grew thicker, and a chilling aura surrounded them, causing both Xing Chen and Meng Xiner to shiver involuntarily.
"This is... the aura of the Underworld?" Xing Chen's mind suddenly echoed with the voice of Hate Emperor.
This aura was very similar to that found in the Nine Nether Underworld, which made Hate Emperor tense up immediately.
