Mu Junqi felt as if everything was a dream. Unable to resist, she pinched her palm hard; the sharp pain was so real. This was not a dream. Overjoyed, she leaped into Xia Ziqian's arms.
Xia Ziqian held her quietly, enveloping her in warmth. Just then, Ziyue called from outside, "Your Highness, what is happening?"
At this question, both of them were startled and looked toward the door. "It's nothing; it's late. You all should rest."
Though Ziyue felt puzzled by the clarity of the earlier moment, she respectfully replied, "Yes, this servant takes her leave."
Once the sounds from outside faded away, Mu Junqi carefully examined Xia Ziqian. Even in black clothing, his extraordinary demeanor shone through. His thick eyebrows arched slightly upward; beneath long, slightly curled eyelashes were eyes as clear as morning dew. He had a strong nose and lips as pink as rose petals, along with fair skin.
