"Follow me, we need to register your information here..." Pranka brought Ziyu to a studio, facing a glass panel, behind which were some staff members.
"Put your eyes closer," Pranka said.
Ziyu complied.
"Shh..." A faint hissing sound emerged, and then Ziyu was signaled that it was done.
"What happened?" Ziyu asked, still unaware that nothing had occurred.
"Your identity has been recorded, and my Intelligence just sent your identity to them," Pranka explained as they walked.
"What did they do? Also, if someone recognizes a person like you, can't they just forge an identity?" Ziyu questioned, seeming to see many loopholes.
"Here's how it works: they directly magnify your eyes, which can be enlarged to the level of DNA molecules, and then record your DNA information... As for forgery... I have two Intelligences, one is private and the other is issued from within. To submit information, I must use the issued Intelligence... Moreover... the issued Intelligence will definitely have protective measures in place, so forgery is impossible..." Pranka said with a smile.
Ziyu remained uncertain... In this fully mechanized era, there would surely be a loophole, a fatal one... If that Mechanical Life truly existed, it should be able to find the loophole by accessing this network... No one understands machinery better than Mechanical Life.
"Everyone who comes here will undergo deep-level training and then experience to meet the requirements of the Cosmic Kingdom. In the end... they will cultivate the most promising individual, who will become the hope," Pranka stated.
"Will that person become a leader?" Ziyu asked.
"Not necessarily," Pranka shook his head. "A race cannot have only one technologically-minded person as its leader; a series of tests must be conducted to determine whether that person becomes a leader or remains just another warrior..."
Ziyu nodded. That made sense; leaders are typically individuals with strong comprehensive abilities; it wouldn't make sense to let someone who only understands technology take on that role.
"This is the Technology Headquarters. After arranging some necessary matters here, you will be assigned to other places," Pranka said. "Just like me; I was assigned to the position of Messenger."
Ziyu approached the door, where two guards stood holding rifles.
The design of the guns was quite reasonable, making them similar in shape to firearms commonly found on Earth, thus becoming one of the most prevalent types of thermal weapons in the universe.
"Wait a moment." The guard stopped Ziyu.
Ziyu looked at Pranka, who was holding a red identification badge, while Ziyu had none.
"Identity confirmed, special species, registration completed, origin: Planet 31135," the guard said, then created a red identification badge, allowing Ziyu to enter.
Ziyu took the badge and curiously glanced at it.
The badge had intricate patterns and a unique charm, inscribed with Ziyu's identity information.
"In the future, you can use this token to access places within your permission level," Pranka explained. "As for what permissions you have, you'll find out later. After using it fifty times, you'll need to match this identification badge with yourself again."
In fact, the fifty-time matching is to prevent identity forgery. During the matching process, genetic information will be compared before and after, and all previous usage records will be checked. If any discrepancies occur, an investigation will be initiated.
The completely sci-fi-looking door in front of Ziyu slowly opened, revealing the interior space after rotating halfway.
Inside was a corridor.
Following Pranka's guidance, Ziyu turned left and right until reaching the end.
The corridor led to the upper level, with another layer where most people were active below.
Ziyu was now at their overhead.
Ziyu leaned on the railing and looked down; below was a scene of people talking... although visible and unobstructed, Ziyu couldn't hear what they were saying.
However, Ziyu could see that those people were moving forward one after another.
"They are distributing information; they are all creations of the Ali Star from different planets," Pranka said. "You need to wait for the next wave; come this way."
"Only a few people from each planet will be selected to come here. If too many people from the entire planet meet the requirements, they won't come to the Technology Headquarters but will be assigned to another location," Pranka said.
Pranka brought Ziyu to an open space on the next level, where many people were already waiting. "You wait here; it will be your turn soon... I have other matters to attend to."
Pranka scanned his identity badge against Ziyu's. "Your identity badge now has my information. Once you learn how to use it, you can contact me through this!"
After giving Ziyu a gesture, Pranka left.
Ziyu smiled.
Although Pranka had been quite rude when he first arrived on Earth, after spending time together, Ziyu felt that he was someone worth getting to know better. Moreover, Pranka was the first person from Ali Star that Ziyu had met.
Finding a seat with people on both sides, Ziyu intended to get acquainted.
"I am Ziyu, from... um... Planet 31135. Hello, everyone," Ziyu greeted the two people beside him.
"I am from Planet 10086," said the person on the left. "My name is Luo Xi."
"I am from Planet 10010. My name is Rad," said the person on the right.
Ziyu lowered his head and couldn't help but laugh, unsure of what to say.
"Uh... what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Both Rad and Luo Xi looked puzzled.
"No, no. Do you two know each other?" Ziyu asked.
"We're rivals from our planets... but we were both selected since we are from the same place. Even though we have our differences, we don't hold any hostility towards each other. Now... we need to support one another; after spending some time together, we might as well get along," Luo Xi explained.
"Yeah, let's consider ourselves friends," Rad added with a smile.
Luo Xi appeared somewhat weak and thin, while Rad was a muscular man.
"Oh..." Ziyu nodded, unable to suppress the smile in her heart.
"You know... how did these girls get here?" Ziyu asked curiously. It wasn't that she looked down on the abilities of girls; it was just that, based on physiological characteristics, the chances of women excelling in such matters were quite small.
Just like on Earth, countries led by women were in the minority.
"Different cultures, different evolutions, I suppose..." Luo Xi said. "By the way, Ziyu, before you came here, did you notice those creatures investigating your planet?"
Ziyu was taken aback and nodded, saying, "After I discovered one place, I searched our entire planet... Luckily, those creatures went extinct... I told them I wouldn't leak any information so they wouldn't commit suicide."
"Yeah, our planet is the same; those creatures will commit suicide as soon as they are captured," Rad added.
"Does your planet have any research on souls?" Ziyu wanted to inquire.
"Yes," Rad and Luo Xi said in unison.
"I'll tell you..." Ziyu glanced at Nearby, "we have some that can escape..."
