Yang Kang: "Before Xia Qi, people recommended outstanding individuals to serve as leaders. Why not follow the example of our predecessors and let the common people vote to elect the Nation Leader, rotating every few years?"
"This idea is not bad!" Guo Jing's eyes lit up.
Yang Kang then explained the strategies and principles of a certain party in detail to Guo Jing and Huang Rong, leaving them both enlightened. Concepts like surrounding the center and equality before the law made these two ancient figures from eight hundred years ago gain new insights.
"Listening to your words is better than reading for ten years!" Guo Jing exclaimed.
The east was already brightening, and Huang Rong yawned repeatedly. Although she was in good spirits, her face was already showing signs of fatigue.
"I've said everything I wanted to say. You both should rest well and plan how to implement this later! By the way, I'm leaving soon, so I want to say goodbye. Hopefully, we will meet again by chance in the future!" Yang Kang thought that when he had time later, he would invite the Grandmaster to show him this world. He pondered how time flowed differently between the two worlds and wondered if Guo Jing and Huang Rong would still be here when he returned.
"Wait a moment!" Huang Rong called out to Yang Kang. "Are Guo Polu and Guo Xiang the two inside me?"
Yang Kang nodded.
Huang Rong: "You only mentioned those two; what about her? How is she doing?"
She married the son of a Mongolian prime minister! Yang Kang didn't know how to respond. He had seen modern speculation about Yelv Qi and believed he might be a Mongolian spy. He couldn't share this with Huang Rong and Guo Jing; what if they wronged someone?
"Guo Fu has been spoiled by your indulgence." Yang Kang dropped this remark before leaving, leaving Huang Rong and Guo Jing staring at each other.
"Is it still too late for us to discipline Fu'er now?"
Yang Kang walked into the courtyard, where Yang Guo and Dragon Girl were cuddled up and sleeping soundly. Yang Kang left a message for Yang Guo, asking the two to find him in the mountain valley outside Xiangyang City after they woke up, and then he departed quietly. After Yang Guo and Dragon Girl woke up and saw the message, they immediately prepared to set off. Guo Jing and Huang Rong were still resting; since the two had no ties with the others, they took hold of Old Yellow Horse's reins and left Great Victory Pass hand in hand.
After two hours, the two found Dugu Qiubai's Dugu Sword Valley. Yang Kang took Yang Guo to Dugu Qiubai's Sword Mound, instructing Yang Guo to retrieve the Heavy Sword, and then entrusted Great Eagle to train Yang Guo in swordsmanship. Great Eagle was indeed a good teacher; in the original story, Yang Guo's mastery of the Heavy Sword technique was taught by Great Eagle. While Yang Guo was learning swordsmanship, Dragon Girl took care of his daily needs in the valley. She preferred tranquility and only wanted to be with Yang Guo, so the valley's environment suited her well. She hoped that in the future, they could spend half their time in the ancient tomb and half in the valley.
Meanwhile, Yang Kang, along with Bai Tang, went to another more beautiful valley—Jueqing Valley. Located not far from Dugu Sword Valley, it was also deep in the mountains outside of Xiangyang City, but much more secluded. This place was an important scene where Yang Guo and the King of the Golden Wheel accidentally entered, leading to both him and Dragon Girl being poisoned by the Love Flower toxin. To save their lives, Huang Rong and Guo Jing rushed to Jueqing Valley for a fierce battle against its master, which triggered a series of events... After much effort, it was believed they could obtain the Heartless Pill to save both Yang Guo and Dragon Girl, but unfortunately, there was only one pill that could save one person. However, due to their deep feelings for each other, neither was willing to take it. In a fit of anger, Yang Guo threw the pill off the Broken Heart Cliff. Knowing her life was short, during one of Yang Guo's deep sleeps, Dragon Girl jumped off the cliff. To strengthen her lover's will to live, she made him consume the Deadly Nightshade to counteract the Love Flower toxin. Thus, she carved on the cliff wall: “Sixteen Years Later, We Gather Here Again, A Deep Bond Between Husband and Wife, Do Not Break the Promise.” Sixteen years later, when Yang Guo waited desperately for her return and in despair jumped off the cliff himself, fate led them to reunite at the bottom of Jueqing Valley. As such a classic location, it was natural for three enthusiasts to explore it. The main reason was that Bai Tang was very interested in this peculiar plant called Love Flower and wanted to collect some for research.
The four sneaked into Jueqing Valley, not only harvesting half of the Love Flower and Deadly Nightshade, but also stealing valuable medicinal herbs like ginseng collected by Gongsun Zhi. They did not rescue Qiu Qianchi, reasoning that since neither she nor Gongsun Zhi were good people, there was no need to release her just to cause trouble for Guo Jing and Huang Rong. Moreover, if there were a confrontation between them, it would put Gongsun Lv'e in a difficult position. Though feeling sympathetic towards this kind-hearted girl, Bai Tang decided it was better for her not to know anything and live blissfully ignorant.
After leaving Jueqing Valley, the four returned to Xiangyang. The Mongolian army had already besieged the city; however, Yang Kang killed their general and burned their supplies, forcing them to retreat. Returning to Dugu Sword Valley, he took away Great Eagle. Knowing his father would leave again, instead of asking him to stay or suggesting they follow him, Yang Guo requested that he remain longer. Then he ran into town to buy a bridal gown and dragon-and-phoenix candles. Under his father's witness, they performed a marriage ceremony. This couple of tragic heroes finally escaped their original fate and would no longer suffer from sixteen years of separation.
After leaving with Bai Tang and Yang Kang, they stirred up a whirlwind across the entire Huaxia region. Not mentioning how Yang Guo and Dragon Girl, as a pair of Mandarin Ducks (a term for loving couples), no longer had to endure hardships as depicted in the original story; on Guo Jing and Huang Rong's side, they followed Yang Kang's advice: Huang Rong devised a plan while Guo Jing gathered manpower. With Huang Rong's intelligence and eloquence, she successfully converted all heroes of Jianghu into proletarian warriors who passionately went down to rural areas with poor citizens to fight against landlords and redistribute land. Sparks ignited from south to north. During this phase of work, Huang Rong did not neglect Mongolia either; after learning about Kublai from Yang Kang's mouth, she sent experts from her sect to assassinate Kublai while also targeting some ambitious individuals among Mongolia’s nobility. She secretly sowed discord among them so that Mongolia’s royal family would be embroiled in internal strife over power struggles without time left to attack Central Plains.
After five years of effort, Huang Rong and Guo Jing finally toppled the Southern Song dynasty and established the Huaxia Republic. They selected a capable person as its first president while returning with their disciples and daughter to Peach Blossom Island for seclusion. After five years of strict upbringing, Guo Fu had changed significantly; she was no longer the reckless spoiled girl from the original story but eventually married Yelü Qi. The Da Wu brothers also married Yelü Yan and Wanyan Ping respectively. Due to Huang Rong's strong opposition, these Dragon-and-Phoenix Twins were not named Guo Polu and Guo Xiang but instead changed to Guo An and Guo Ning; Huang Rong hoped that both children could live peaceful lives.
Huang Rong's wish was only half fulfilled; honest Guo An indeed grew up healthily as she wished and married into a martial arts family, giving birth to two sons and two daughters who continued the bloodline of the Guo family. What troubled her most was her daughter Guo Ning; like her counterpart in the original story—Guo Xiang—Guo Ning had a bold temperament that disliked constraints. At just sixteen years old, she ran away from Peach Blossom Island to wander Jianghu. The marriage between Yang Guo and Dragon Girl faced no obstruction from Guo Jing or Huang Rong; there were no so-called "father-killing grudges." The couple respected them as elders and visited Peach Blossom Island every year to pay their respects. Since childhood, Guo Ning had known Yang Guo and Dragon Girl well; having grown up together with their son as childhood friends meant she wouldn't fall for Yang Guo like an infatuated girl would. However, it seemed her romantic path was cursed; even without Yang Guo around, things did not go smoothly for her love life either. Aunt Er met He Zudao from Kunlun Three Saints earlier than in the original story; they bonded over playing music together while discussing martial arts naturally led their feelings towards each other blossoming. However, He Zudao's proud nature clashed with Aunt Er's stubbornness on certain matters leading them into disputes that widened their rift until they eventually parted ways—one returned to Kunlun establishing Kunlun Sect while another became a nun at Emei Mountain founding Emei Sect. For this reason alone, Huang Rong almost rushed over Kunlun Mountain intending to beat He Zudao up.
Just as Huang Rong embraced her second grandson during this time when she was already over ninety years old—Huang Yaoshi finally achieved perfection in martial arts before breaking through space leaving this world behind becoming a myth within it. The Five Absolutes became history; Ouyang Feng and Hong Qigong had left this world twenty years prior while Master Yideng followed ten years later than them. Because Ouyang Feng’s presence prevented them from receiving titles like "Northern Hero" or "Western Madman," although overall developments changed significantly within this world some events still progressed along their destined paths—for instance: Ming Jiao’s emergence or Zhang Sanfeng establishing Wudang Sect or Hao Datong founding Huashan Sect at Huashan... Out of curiosity watching these events unfold led Huang Rong creating Dragon-Slaying Saber alongside Leaning Sword... When Zhang Sanfeng accepted a child named Zhang Cui Shan as his disciple—the plot began anew crafting protagonist halos...
Returning back into Apocalyptic World only two or three years had passed since Yang Kang bought an enormous amount of delicacies before leaving; now he pulled Yi Qian along bringing Great Eagle searching for Tian Yuan—a companion—to satisfy everyone's appetites before showing off his Great Eagle.
Bai Tang strolled through Beijing’s streets alongside Karen Adrian; due largely due visitors attending exchange conferences from various bases—the streets regained half their pre-apocalyptic liveliness once more. The two walked silently for quite some distance without speaking until finally Bai Tang couldn’t hold back any longer asking:
“Did you kill Kublai’s son?”
Karen Adrian did not deny: "Yes!"
Bai Tang: "Why? He's just a child?"
Karen Adrian: "He looks a lot like one of my enemies; I think he might be the ancestor of my enemy!"
"..." Bai Tang: "You haven't forgotten about revenge, have you? Is it frustrating to stay by my side?"
Karen Adrian: "... No, I'm very grateful to be by your side!"
Bai Tang sighed, without saying anything, but quickened his pace.
