The black mist suddenly split into several streams, attacking the people on the ground. Zhongqing Dashi and Duhen Bodhi were caught off guard and were enveloped by the black mist. When the mist dissipated, two white skeletons appeared on the ground.
The other four women turned pale with fear. Qin Keqing, who had seen more than the others, shouted loudly, "Whatever you do, don't touch that black mist! It's demonic energy, demonic energy!"
Without her reminder, everyone knew they couldn't let the black mist get close, but the mist was formless and unpredictable, making it impossible for them to disperse it. For a moment, everyone except Bai Tang, including Karen, found themselves in a predicament.
"Ah—" A scream rang out as Immortal Mistress's arm was injured by the demonic energy. The energy corroded her arm into a skeleton and began to creep up to her shoulder. Huamanlou decisively used her folding fan to sever Immortal Mistress's arm, preventing her from being completely consumed by the demonic energy.
"Bai Tang, think of a way quickly!" Lu Feng jumped next to Bai Tang while holding two women, feeling that it should be safe near her since she seemed to be handling things well.
"I'm thinking!" Bai Tang dodged the attacking demonic energy and opened the system shop, searching for something suitable. Finally, she found an item—a Turbid Clear Gourd that could absorb all impurities and transform them into pure energy.
"Phew! Bai Tang, why didn't you take out this gourd earlier?" Lu Feng sat down on the ground to rest. The previous traps hadn't exhausted him like this; indeed, the existence of non-human societies was beyond what ordinary people like them could handle.
Bai Tang rolled her eyes and didn't want to say more.
"Once you've rested enough, let's move on. The sooner we find Doushuai Fire, the sooner we can leave. This place is eerie and makes me feel uncomfortable."
"Sis, let me rest a bit longer! I'm not as capable as you; I'm completely worn out." Lu Feng really didn't want to move.
Bai Tang snorted, "Who told you to play the hero? If you hadn't bothered with those two women, you wouldn't be so tired."
Lu Feng chuckled, "Bai Tang, are you jealous? I can carry you too!"
Bai Tang made a disdainful expression. "Stay away from me; I don't want to catch any diseases!"
"Hey, hey, you can't slander me! I'm perfectly healthy; there's no way I'd get sick."
Huamanlou watched his two good friends bicker with a smile until suddenly his expression froze. "Someone is coming."
Lu Feng leaped up from the ground, vigilantly staring at the passage leading to the center of the tomb.
Bai Tang tightened his brows and reminded everyone, "Be mentally prepared; what’s coming is a zombie."
"Zombie?" Lu Feng and Hua Man Lou exclaimed in unison, both shocked by what Bai Tang had mentioned.
"Yes, they are thousand-year-old zombies with strong combat abilities, so be cautious. Zombies have high defense, and attacking other areas won’t work; you must decapitate them."
"Bai Tang, do you have weapons? Support us with one for each," Lu Feng said. His weapon was his bare hands, while Hua Man Lou's weapon was his flowing sleeves, but unfortunately, neither could kill a zombie.
Bai Tang naturally had no shortage of weapons in his space. He took out two knives from his backpack and handed them to Lu Feng and Hua Man Lou.
"This knife looks quite unique," Lu Feng praised as he held the shiny knife.
Bai Tang replied, "This is a Watermelon Knife."
"What?" Lu Feng rubbed his ears, indicating he didn’t understand.
Bai Tang explained, "As the name suggests, it’s a knife for cutting watermelons."
Lu Feng said, "No wonder you’re extraordinary; even for cutting watermelons, you use such a fine knife."
Bai Tang continued, "Many people in our world use it to chop off zombies' heads."
"Zombie?" Lu Feng asked.
Bai Tang clarified, "It's also a type of zombie, even more powerful than regular zombies. Some can even spit fire or water and cast various spells. Especially if someone is scratched by a Zombie, they will also turn into a Zombie."
Lu Feng: "The zombies we encounter now shouldn't have that kind of ability, right?"
Bai Tang: "I estimate they shouldn't."
Lu Feng breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good. If we really encountered your kind of zombie, I think I'd rather just commit suicide."
Bai Tang: "When did you become so unconfident, Lu Feng?"
Lu Feng: "Ever since I met you, this non-human, my confidence has been constantly shattered."
Hua Manlou: "They're coming."
The zombies inside the tomb were transformed from the Imperial Guard of Qin Shi Huang, with extremely high combat power, and they wore heavy armor, making them difficult to take down. Hua Manlou and Lu Feng not only had to kill the zombies but also protect four women, which was quite a struggle. Fortunately, Karren was there; Bai Tang didn't need to intervene as he eliminated all the zombies himself. After overcoming various dangers, the group finally entered the central tomb chamber. The soul of Qin Shi Huang had already reincarnated, so he hadn't turned into a zombie like his subordinates who were trapped in the tomb. The group had no interest in viewing the emperor's remains, which had turned to bones; they found Doushuai Fire and left Qin Shi Huang's underground palace.
Doushuai Fire was a cluster of purple flames, bright yet not scorching; it felt warm when held in the palm of one's hand. No one would believe that this flame could burn everything, right? Bai Tang seized Doushuai Fire in his hand, not giving Yuan Chun and the others a chance to touch it—who knew if they had any tricks up their sleeves!
"How do we use it?" Bai Tang asked Yuan Chun and the four women, "How do we activate Doushuai Fire to take us to the Immortal Realm?"
The four women exchanged glances; they had only heard that Doushuai Fire could take them back to the Immortal Realm, but they knew nothing about how to use it or how to return.
Bai Tang squinted: "You all don't know?"
The women shook their heads in unison; early death meant early reincarnation!
Lu Feng sat down on the ground: "Ah, I wanted to go play in other worlds, but it seems that's not going to happen. Ladies, is there anything else? If not, I'm leaving."
Bai Tang opened the system panel and clicked on the time-space portal section. He saw an additional blank slot above. Bai Tang placed Doushuai Fire into the blank slot; a flash of purple light passed by, and the blank slot transformed into a time-space portal. Bai Tang pressed the button below the door.
Lu Feng, Hua Man Lou, and the women stared in shock as a large black hole appeared behind Bai Tang, emanating an irresistible pull that instantly drew everyone into it.
After a familiar spinning sensation, Bai Tang and Karen Adrian landed safely. Bai Tang reached out to support Hua Man Lou while Lu Feng and the four women piled up on each other.
"Bai Tang, you're so biased! You only help Hua Man Lou and not me?" Lu Feng complained as he got up from the ground, rubbing his waist. Ouch, his back hurt.
"Look over there! What is that?" Hua Man Lou gazed into the sky, his tone filled with incredulity.
Everyone followed his gaze and saw an endless sea ahead, with thunder and lightning crackling above. A pink ribbon floated among the clouds, rising and falling.
"That must be a dragon," Lu Feng said, shielding his eyes as he announced his observation. With antlers, a cow's head, a donkey's mouth, shrimp-like eyes, elephant ears, fish scales, human whiskers, a snake's belly, and phoenix feet—such a slender body could only belong to the legendary dragon. Had they really arrived in the fairy realm?
"That dragon looks off," Yuan Chun remarked.
"It seems to be in pain," Qin Keqing added.
"Should we go help?" Hua Man Lou was just that kind-hearted.
"Aren't you afraid of being thrown away by that dragon's tail?" Lu Feng thought it was better to keep their distance. That was a dragon, not a human; one swipe could be deadly.
"Let's wait before helping. We need to deal with any immediate danger first," Bai Tang said. Karen Adrian had already taken action and tied up all four women.
"Fairy, why are you tying us up?" Yuan Chun asked, trying to sound calm.
Bai Tang snorted coldly: "Did you think I didn't notice the talisman paper Qin Keqing just burned? Let me guess; that was your way of contacting the Divine Attendant to deal with me?"
"Since you know, why not surrender obediently, mortal!" A proud voice echoed in everyone's ears. Suddenly, a figure appeared before them in a flash of golden light. This person had a powdered face, red lips, and white teeth—a perfect example of a handsome man. He had two buns on his head and wore a bright red Daoist robe, dressed like a young boy. He held a hoe in one hand and a wooden bucket in the other, seemingly summoned by Yuan Chun while he was busy working.
“Divine Attendant?” Bai Tang looked at the person in front of her, who bore a seven-point resemblance to Jia Baoyu.
“Indeed, it is I. Mortal, you killed Jinghuan Fairy, causing my trial to fail, and yet you dare to come to this world?” Divine Attendant looked at Bai Tang with disdain. He had never seen this woman in the palace; she was merely an unranked celestial being, without background or support. Killing her would not bring him any trouble.
Feeling the murderous intent from Divine Attendant, Bai Tang sneered, “If the Goddess Nüwa were to trouble me, I might actually be afraid. You are just a servant tending to flowers and plants; even if I kill you, the Goddess Nüwa wouldn’t remember you or come to your aid.”
Having his situation exposed, Divine Attendant flew into a rage and shouted, “Mortal, you dare to insult a celestial being! I will extract your soul and cast it into the Eighteen Layers of Hell for eternity!”
“Anyone can boast; do you really have such great power?” Bai Tang coldly laughed as she blocked one of Divine Attendant's attacks.
“To deal with you, how much power do I need?” Divine Attendant lifted a wooden bucket high, and a powerful stream of water surged out from it towards Bai Tang. His bucket was a Treasure, capable of holding water from all seas and lakes; during battles, he would pour it out to drown his enemies. Unfortunately, in front of the equipped Bai Tang, his Treasure was utterly insufficient, and the water was instantly frozen into ice pillars.
“A mere grain of rice.” Bai Tang mocked as she unleashed long-unused skills one after another. Yes, she was a bit rusty, but the effects were still there. Before long, the once impressive Divine Attendant was left lying on the ground like a dog, barely able to breathe.
The four women were all stunned; the once lofty and formidable Divine Attendant had been defeated by Bai Tang! Reflecting on their previous schemes, they felt as if the sun and moon had lost their light.
“Don’t kill me! Please, don’t kill me!”
