Li Rui emerged with his sword, his expression relaxed and joyful, showing no signs of being affected by the Illusion Array in the mist.
Old Monster quietly observed Li Rui, sensing that there was a subtle change in him. It was strange; this change was difficult to articulate, yet it felt as if Li Rui's state of mind had grown stronger.
"An illusion?"
Old Monster asked tentatively.
"Yes, just an illusion," Li Rui replied with a smile, knowing that Lightning Weasel and Old Monster were curious about what he had encountered in the illusion and why he suddenly felt so joyful.
In the illusion, Li Rui recounted everything he experienced to Old Monster and Lightning Weasel.
"You cut it down in one strike?"
Old Monster stared at Li Rui in surprise, not expecting him to handle the illusion so decisively.
"I felt that the strange man was very unusual; he seemed almost god-like, easily dodging my attacks. I was so angry at the time that I didn't realize it," Li Rui said with a smile.
"Later, I realized that everything in the illusion wasn't about that man but rather about Mo Ruxi. It was my feelings for Mo Ruxi that clouded my judgment. Once I understood and calmed down, it became clear that Mo Ruxi wasn't really Mo Ruxi at all."
Li Rui gently caressed the Azure Cloud Sword as he continued.
"When I realized that I should trust Mo Ruxi, I saw that the Mo Ruxi inside was completely different from the one I remembered and liked. So, out of curiosity, I tested it and indeed discovered something unusual. At that moment, I struck down with a blade, and the illusion shattered instantly."
Li Rui's final move was very light, but Old Monster sensed that when Li Rui finished, his love for Mo Ruxi seemed even more resolute.
The two humans and one beast rested for a while before continuing on their journey.
After walking for a while, they arrived at a flat area where many stone sculptures stood on the ground. Each robust stone statue looked magnificent, resembling a group of medieval sculptures.
"There’s something wrong here!"
Old Monster raised his hand to stop Li Rui and said calmly.
"I noticed it too."
Li Rui drew the Azure Cloud Sword, having sensed that there seemed to be some unknown connection between the statues, with a powerful aura emanating from them.
"Bronze Man Formation!"
When Old Monster tentatively stepped between the statues, suddenly each statue began to move. The stone fragments shattered, revealing golden bronze bodies inside. Old Monster took a step back and returned to Li Rui's side, whispering a warning.
"Bronze Man Formation?"
Li Rui asked in confusion.
"The Bronze Man Formation tests a person's reaction, agility, and response. Only one can pass at a time; if you enter together, the power of the Bronze Man Formation will increase exponentially."
Old Monster frowned and hinted to Li Rui that the Bronze Man Formation could only be passed through relying on Li Rui's own strength.
"I understand. Don't worry, it's just a Bronze Man Formation. I will definitely be able to conquer it."
Li Rui smiled and patted his chest, reassuring Old Monster and the others.
Old Monster nodded and was the first to step into the Bronze Man Formation. His movements were exceptionally light, and although the Bronze Man Formation was fierce, it couldn't touch Old Monster at all. He easily passed through the Bronze Man Formation and waved at Li Rui from the other side.
Then, Lightning Weasel almost did the same thing, avoiding the Bronze Man Formation effortlessly and breaking through with ease.
It seemed very simple. Li Rui watched as Old Monster and Lightning Weasel skillfully maneuvered through the Bronze Man Formation, easily breaking through.
Both Old Monster and Lightning Weasel’s demonstrations greatly boosted Li Rui's confidence, and he stepped into the Bronze Man Formation.
However, once inside, Li Rui felt a heavy and invisible pressure weighing down on him. He found it difficult to move as nimbly as Old Monster and Lightning Weasel.
Suddenly, a bronze figure swung its blade towards him, seemingly aiming to split Li Rui in half.
In a hurry, Li Rui raised his Azure Cloud Sword to block it but felt a powerful force surge into the sword. The impact nearly made him lose grip on the Azure Cloud Sword, which barely managed to withstand the blow from the bronze figure.
Panicking, he rolled aside, his forehead drenched in cold sweat. With a bitter smile, Li Rui realized that the reason why Old Monster and Lightning Weasel could break through so easily was due to the difference in strength between them and him.
After some self-encouragement filled with bitterness, Li Rui steadied his gaze, knowing that he couldn't take shortcuts to break through. He calmed himself and looked steadily at the approaching bronze figure.
Wind Extreme Finger!
A surge of Source Qi broke through and struck the Bronze Man, causing its body to sway slightly, but it continued to approach without any apparent effect.
The Bronze Man Formation is so tough!
Li Rui took a deep breath and quickly dodged, but another Bronze Man attacked from behind. Li Rui rolled away again, gradually becoming somewhat flustered as he fell into the attacks of one Bronze Man after another.
The Bronze Men were harder than he could have imagined; it was nearly impossible to defeat them in a head-on clash. Li Rui managed to seize a flaw in one of the Bronze Men and struck hard enough to damage it, but in the blink of an eye, another Bronze Man took its place.
Breaking the formation head-on was very difficult.
Li Rui gasped for breath as suddenly he recalled how Old Monster and Lightning Weasel had dealt with the formation by avoiding direct confrontation with the Bronze Men’s attacks, instead opting for agile dodges and using the gaps between them to escape the Bronze Man Formation.
He had thought of it!
Suddenly, Li Rui's expression brightened as he took a large step back to observe the movement patterns between the Bronze Men. He soon discovered that although each Bronze Man’s attack was powerful, they only attacked one after another, leaving a window for those trying to break the formation to evade.
"Just like that!"
Li Rui praised himself and sheathed his Azure Cloud Sword. As the Bronze Men closed in again, he did not retreat; instead, he charged toward them.
"Haha!"
Seeing this, Old Monster chuckled; he realized that Li Rui had found a way to break the Bronze Man Formation. Lightning Weasel also noticed and wagged its tail happily for Li Rui.
Ducking under one Bronze Man's attack, Li Rui sidestepped left to avoid another and leaped over yet another attack from a different Bronze Man.
Soon, Li Rui flashed past four or five Bronze Men, and there were only about ten Bronze Men left ahead.
Having grasped the operational rules of the Bronze Men, Li Rui felt much more at ease, although the pressure on him remained and was continuously increasing.
Feeling the pressure intensifying, Li Rui knew he could not linger in the Bronze Man Formation; otherwise, even if he could see through its flaws, he would ultimately be suppressed to immobility by the overwhelming invisible pressure.
"Drink!"
Li Rui suddenly shouted loudly, a flash of red light appearing in his eyes, and he seemed to swell slightly, his speed increasing by more than double as he charged toward the Bronze Men.
"They're out!"
Seeing Old Monster and Lightning Weasel right in front of him, Li Rui exclaimed with joy.
Behind him, all the Bronze Men suddenly froze in place. The shattered stones on the ground flew up one by one, reattaching themselves to the Bronze Men, drowning out the golden light on their bodies. The originally fierce Bronze Men once again turned into lifeless stone statues.
