In recent days, the weather has warmed up, and the ice and snow have begun to melt. Clothes are becoming lighter, and the cool sunlight spills over everything, casting a slightly chilly warmth throughout the room. However, his mood has not brightened with the melting of the ice and snow. The person lying on the snow-white bed shows no signs of waking up; her hands alternate between cold and hot. He holds her hand but feels as if he is grasping a transparent person, filled with loneliness. 0

She has been in a deep sleep for four whole days. The high fever seems to have subsided a little, but her condition still shows no improvement. Shangguan Shaoyi lowers his gaze at her, holding a cold cloth in his hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead. Accustomed to handling guns, he now moves carefully to avoid hurting her, gently brushing the cloth over her forehead and resting it there. 0

Shangguan Yiting has brought in a German doctor to change Cheng Mo Su's medication. Seeing Shangguan Shaoyi looking exhausted yet still fixated on Cheng Mo Su, as if he might miss something with just a blink, she sighs and says, "Lin, you should take a break too. You haven't had a good night's sleep since leading your troops into battle. If you keep this up, what will happen if you fall ill?" 0

Shangguan Shaoyi does not respond; instead, he pulls up a chair beside Cheng Mo Su and continues to watch over her intently. Shangguan Yiting shakes her head, deciding not to say anything further, and quietly steps out, closing the door behind them. The room becomes eerily quiet; he has always been accustomed to solitude and loneliness, but now this sudden silence feels like it is drowning him in deep waters, threatening to overwhelm him. 0

In the days she remains unconscious, even silence feels desolate. 0

"Young Marshal." Shen Mingliang gently pushes open the door without his usual loud voice. Shangguan Shaoyi slowly lifts his gaze to him, prompting Shen Mingliang to continue, "Young Marshal, it's time to prepare for the photo." 0

A photo? He furrows his brow in confusion. Noticing that Shangguan Shaoyi has completely forgotten about it, Shen Mingliang hurriedly reminds him, "Since the Young Marshal has reclaimed the Northeast, of course we need to take photos for publication to assert our position and clarify the truth for everyone, exposing Lin Hongyao's false facade." 0

Shangguan Shaoyi waves his hand dismissively, signaling him to stop talking. He glances at the still pale Cheng Mo Su and feels a pang in his heart before coldly saying, "Go find my sister. I remember taking a photo last year when I accompanied my father on an expedition; it was never published. Use that photo. Also, have my sister review the content for publication—don't disturb me anymore. Go." 0

"Young Marshal, this..." Shen Mingliang looks at Shangguan Shaoyi with difficulty. However, Shangguan Shaoyi's gaze remains fixed on Cheng Mo Su. Seeing this, Shen Mingliang can only comply and leaves. 0

As night falls and the moon shines faintly, 0

the room becomes terrifyingly quiet after all the noise has subsided. He squeezes her hand; silent sighs echo through every particle of air around them. That delicate hand has accompanied him through loneliness and darkness. He forces a smile as moonlight streams in through the window, reminiscent of many nights spent at Cheng Residence. Back then, he was silent and restrained while she drew closer; now he can stand openly by her side while she remains asleep, only able to hear her faint breaths. 0

"Mo Su..." he murmurs softly as his large hand caresses her jet-black hair and smooth cheek. Though she sleeps, she still exudes elegance and tranquility; her long eyelashes cast shadows under the moonlight. She has always warmed him; now it is his turn to warm her. 0

Since he boarded the train in Shanghai, he had not had a single day of proper rest. Now, after taking care of Cheng Mo for so long, his body could no longer hold up. He tightly wrapped her small hand in his palm, her fragrance still faintly lingering, making him feel attached. He smiled slightly, his gaze warm like flowing water, burying his head in her shoulder so that he would know as soon as she woke up. 0

Moonlight filtered through the window bars, casting a perfectly gentle light throughout the room. He slowly closed his eyes, his mind filled with memories of her—her smile, her tears, her words—lingering in his heart, entwined with his life and breath. The emotions that could not be dispelled coalesced into a heavy stone weighing down on him, making it hard for him to breathe. 0

"Mo Su!" He suddenly woke up, glancing at the clock to realize he had only slept for a quarter of an hour. Rubbing his swollen eyes, he turned to grab a cup of warm water. A few colorful pills lay silently in his hand. He lifted Cheng Mo into his arms, letting her lean gently against him. Her soft, long hair cascaded down to her waist. He smiled faintly and said softly, "Mo Su, it's time to take your medicine." 0

He tested the water temperature before gently opening Cheng Mo's mouth and slowly placing the pills inside. His hand still held the warmth of the cup, but as he set it down, he felt the coldness of the room enveloping him. Reluctantly, he laid the soft figure in his arms flat and leaned down to kiss her forehead. The sound of her slow heartbeat intertwined with his rapid breaths, consuming the bleak world around them. 0

The sky had unknowingly begun to brighten; it seemed that the sunlight ultimately could not compete with the layer of frost on the window. Another sleepless night had passed without a single moment of awakening. 0

Xiao Zuo arrived early at Shangguan Residence for a visit. In fact, ever since he heard that Cheng Mo was ill, he had been eager to rush over but had only just finished dealing with matters at hand. Although it was his first time at Shangguan Family, he quickly found the room where Shangguan Shaoyi and Cheng Mo were located due to having heard about the architectural structure from Shangguan Shaoyi while in Russia. 0

He pushed the door open and saw Shangguan Shaoyi sitting rigidly beside Cheng Mo, completely still like a statue. He spoke in a low voice, "How is Xiao Su?" 0

Shangguan Shaoyi was momentarily stunned; the voice seemed distant and ethereal as if it came from far away. He rubbed his brow and gathered some spirit, saying, "She still hasn't woken up." 0

Xiao Zuo frowned; Shaoyi looked extremely unwell—his face pale and eyes bloodshot. If this continued, he feared that Shaoyi would collapse as well. Xiao Zuo patted Shangguan Shaoyi's shoulder and said, "Shaoyi, you should rest; I'll take care of things here." 0

Shangguan Shaoyi remained unresponsive and did not move an inch. 0

Xiao Zuo sighed and pulled over a chair to sit beside him. His gaze swept over the sleeping Cheng Mo; she had lost even more weight since they last met and looked like a paper doll—easily blown away or scattered with a touch. His heart ached fiercely as he spoke in an even lower voice, "What happened to make her like this?" 0

Shangguan Shaoyi clenched his fists tightly; his fingertips dug into his flesh as he felt darkness enveloping him. He was immersed in it without any sight or clarity; his mind felt hazy while strange sounds echoed continuously around him—each one striking at his nerves intermittently with varying intensity—he felt as if he would collapse at any moment. 0

“Shaoyi……” 0

“Shaoyi……” 0

A man and a woman, one voice heavy and the other soft, called out to him. He struggled to break through the darkness, and finally, his reason and vision found a breakthrough, allowing him to escape into a patch of light. Cheng Mo Su Weiwei opened her Eyes, looking at him nervously. She had just awakened, and he looked as if he had been watching over her for days and nights without rest. She slowly raised her hand that was not connected to an IV, her delicate Fingertips gently touching his eyes, wanting to brush away the frightening bloodshot veins. 0

He froze all over, still unable to react, but he saw those clear Eyes gazing at him, the shallow smile filled with concern. It was Mo Su; she was awake. Shangguan Shaoyi felt a pang in his heart and tightly embraced her, feeling her warmth confirmed that this was not a dream. The heartache and longing, the confusion and uncertainty of the past few days vanished in that moment. 0

“Shaoyi… what happened to you…” She couldn’t care less about her own pain, only astonished by his powerless and haggard appearance. 0

“I’m fine.” He smiled with relief, burying her head in his chest. Their fingers intertwined, their warmth merging into a beam of light that spread through each other's bodies; the fatigue and pain of recent days seemed to disappear in an instant. 0

“Just now, Brother Zuo Wei was still here…” But he had suddenly vanished. Cheng Mo Su hadn’t finished her sentence when her colorless lips, due to illness, were kissed fiercely by him. It was so earnest and passionate; their heated breaths lingered between them. He initially intended to deepen the kiss but thought of her condition and reluctantly let her go. 0

Whether it was because the fever hadn’t completely subsided or due to shyness, a blush spread across Cheng Mo Su’s face again. Shangguan Shaoyi gently caressed her lips, quietly watching her as if he wanted to engrave her in his heart. He not only loved her clear smile and pure gaze but also cherished the subtle joy and tenderness he felt when he was with her. He was not only moved by her willingness to give up everything for him but also proud of the countless possibilities within himself when he was with her. 0
