The moon rises and the sun sets. 0

Cheng Mo Su quietly packed her belongings, slowly reminiscing about the beautiful past in her mind. It wasn't until a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts and actions that she realized she had tears streaming down her face. 0

She wiped her tears and hurriedly opened the intricately carved door. Shangguan Yiting smiled at her, pushed the door open, and upon seeing the luggage, her smile slightly faltered. "Mo Su, where are you planning to go?" 0

"I've caused too much trouble for you all here; I think I should return to Shanghai," she replied with a faint smile, polite yet distant. 0

Shangguan Yiting observed her for a moment; in the dim light, she couldn't clearly see the fluctuations of Mo Su's expression, only noticing the slight rejection at the corners of her lips. Shangguan Yiting sighed and pulled her down to sit. "Mo Su, if you leave like this, my brother will be very sad." 0

Mo Su paused slightly, haunted by an unshakeable cold gaze in her mind. She lowered her eyes and spoke softly, "He won't be sad; he doesn't need me." 0

"How could he not need you?" Shangguan Yiting gazed at her intently, her voice steady and clear. "Mo Su, everyone has their own scale in their heart. You know better than anyone how he treats you and whether he cares about you. Tell me, what exactly are you being stubborn about?" 0

"I..." For a moment, she was at a loss for words. Her water-colored eyes flickered slightly. "He has already made a marriage pact with Miss Rong; what do I count as..." 0

A gentle breeze stirred her dark, fine hair. Her fair profile was turned downwards as she stared at the ground, delicate fingers intertwined, with a helpless smile lingering at the corners of her mouth. Shangguan Yiting looked at her pitiful appearance and felt even more helpless. 0

"Mo Su, his relationship with Yu Qiao is not what you think." After a moment of contemplation, Shangguan Yiting continued, "They grew up together; their parents indeed discussed an engagement but never formalized it. It wasn't until Yu Qiao risked her life to find him on the battlefield that our father decided they should get engaged. You know what happened later... Father was harmed by treachery, and these matters have been delayed ever since. If you insist they are engaged, that can be justified; if you say they aren't engaged, that is also understandable. Do you know what the key point of this matter is?" 0

She fell silent, staring directly at Cheng Mo Su. Cheng Mo Su's watery eyes shimmered with confusion. "What is it?" 0

Shangguan Yiting smiled and held her fair hand. "Silly girl, the most crucial thing is his heart!" 0

Shaoyi's heart... Cheng Mo Su lowered her eyelids and remained silent for a long time. 0

"Mo Su, Yu Qiao likes him just as much as you do. She can do everything for him that you can. If you truly love him, then you should know what you need to do. You're not just packing your bags here; you're meant to move forward with him together. Isn't that right?" 0

Shangguan Yiting's words were clear and insightful, and for a moment, she didn't know what to say. The two of them sat quietly, letting the stars fill the sky as the snow turned to rain. 0

After a while, Shangguan Yiting finally stood up and wished her goodnight. Just as she opened the door, she saw a tall figure standing at the entrance, his cold expression carrying a hint of complex emotions. 0

"When did you arrive?" Shangguan Yiting asked in surprise. "You should have a good talk with Mo Su. I'll step out first." She patted Shangguan Shaoyi's shoulder in encouragement, her face showing a bittersweet smile that was worth pondering. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi stepped into her room, which was filled with a faint floral fragrance, making it hard to tell if it was from the incense burner or her pleasant scent. He looked at her; her water-colored eyes overflowed with shadows of loneliness that tugged at his heart. He really didn't want to see that expression on her face. 0

"Mo Su." He called her name, and she flinched as if shocked, stepping back a few paces. Her flawless profile vanished into the shadows, carrying a hint of detachment. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi paused for a moment and took a few steps forward, but she continued to retreat, ultimately cornered. 0

His hand pressed against the wall, leaving her no room to maneuver. The faint smell of gunpowder on him mixed with her fresh fragrance, creating intense sparks. He quietly gazed at her, looking straight into those bright eyes. Yet she couldn't meet his gaze and could only avoid eye contact. 0

"Mo Su, I won't..." 0

Before he could finish his sentence, she hurriedly interrupted him. "I want to go home." 0

Her pitch-black eyes widened instantly as they scanned the packed luggage. The large hands beneath the black gloves clenched into fists, his expression remaining cold and unchanging. "No, your injuries aren't fully healed." 0

She lifted her chin defiantly and raised her face calmly. "I'm fine now; you don't need to worry about me." 0

He frowned tightly, watching her cheeks redden slightly from anger. "If I say you're not healed, then you're not healed. You need to rest for a while. Xiao Yue will help take care of things at Cheng Residence; there won't be any problems." His tone was commanding rather than negotiable. 0

"I'm leaving; you can't stop me," she said stubbornly. 0

Shangguan Shaoyi chuckled helplessly, "Mo Su, I absolutely will not have anything to do with Yu Qiao, so you can rest assured." 0

She looked like a child whose secret had been guessed. She lowered her face in annoyance, her long Eyelashes casting shadows over her eyes. "I’m not concerned about your relationship with her. Who you choose to be with is your freedom, and going home is my freedom. I won’t interfere with you, and I hope you won’t interfere with me." 0

At first, he thought she was just throwing a tantrum, but now it seemed she was determined to leave. He watched her tightly pressed lips as the soft, clear moonlight filtered through the window bars, casting a hazy veil over her. He raised an eyebrow, his pitch-black Eyes fixed on her. "Are you sure?" 0

"Yes." She nodded without hesitation. 0

"Alright." He turned his back and left her room without looking back, the heavy sound of the door closing echoing in her heart. She sat on the floor, hugging her knees, overwhelmed by the chill of the ground as tears slipped down from the corners of her eyes. She thought she could leave resolutely, but she didn’t expect the feeling of leaving to be so painful. 0

She hated complicated emotions and messy situations, so she didn’t want to get entangled in those worldly matters. Although she believed in his unwavering devotion to her, she felt too weak to face the troublesome issue of Rong Yu Qiao. 0

But... 0

She looked up at the crystal chandelier on the white ceiling; the bright light stung her eyes just as Shaoyi could pierce her heart at any moment. Could she really leave him? At this moment, she couldn’t tell if this was her decision or just a fit of anger. 0

Anyway... there was already a conclusion... she wanted to go, and he didn’t stop her. Although there was a hidden disappointment, it was better than being the coward who couldn’t make a decision. She wiped her tears from her face and got up from the cold floor. 0

Outside the window, the moonlight remained clear and bright, just as it had been when they first met. 0
