Cheng Mo Su slept uneasily. As dawn broke, she turned over and got out of bed, casually having some breakfast before finding herself with nothing to do. 0

"Miss, I heard that Miss Huang Wei is looking for you. She sent someone to call for you yesterday," Feng Yin said while tidying up the dishes. 0

Cheng Mo Su smiled. Huang Wei's news travels fast. She had planned to rest a bit before visiting, but it seemed Huang Wei was eager for her to come. With a light smile on her lips, she said, "I understand. Please tell someone to prepare the carriage; I will go shortly." 0

"Yes," Feng Yin replied, suddenly remembering something. "Miss probably doesn't know yet, but Miss Huang Wei has gotten married." 0

Cheng Mo Su was taken aback and quickly asked, "When did this happen?" 0

"Just a few weeks ago. The groom is the son of the director of the security bureau, with the surname Huang and the single character 'Xi' as his given name." 0

"Then help me prepare some gifts; I will send them to her to express my congratulations," Cheng Mo Su said, lowering her long eyelashes and focusing on her delicate white toes. Feng Yin looked at her expression but couldn't decipher her thoughts and could only ask, "What kind of gift does Miss think would be best?" 0

In her water-colored eyes sparkled the morning light, and the smile at the corners of her lips became increasingly inscrutable. "Anything will do; I believe Huang Wei won't care much about these things." Feng Yin left, somewhat understanding yet not fully grasping her meaning. Only then did Cheng Mo Su lift her gaze, feeling heavy in her heart as if a boulder had been placed there. In the end, Huang Wei could not escape her family's arrangements and married someone she did not love. 0

Huang Wei's new house was located on Xiafei Road and was easy to find. When Cheng Mo Su got out of the carriage, the sky seemed to be covered with a thin layer of clouds, giving it a somewhat grayish hue. Huang Wei had been waiting at the door and spotted Cheng Mo Su's plain figure looking around. Her lips broke into a wide smile as she waved, "Mo Su, over here!" 0

Hearing her voice, Cheng Mo Su hurried over. The two hadn't seen each other for a long time and were naturally very close, holding hands and chatting at the entrance for quite a while before stepping into the living room. Huang Wei's new home was even more luxurious than her family home; it was impressive. After walking for some time, they suddenly encountered a well-dressed man embracing a woman in a bright qipao coming toward them. Cheng Mo Su clearly felt Huang Wei's hand stiffen slightly. As they met face-to-face, the man politely said, "This must be Miss Cheng? I've heard so much about you from my wife." 0

"Your wife?" Cheng Mo Su looked at him in confusion. 0

The man laughed heartily and pointed at Huang Wei. "This is my wife. By the way, it's our first meeting; I forgot to introduce myself—I'm Huang Xi." 0

Cheng Mo Su was taken aback, glancing between Huang Xi and Huang Wei. The two did not seem like a couple at all; moreover, Huang Xi was still holding another woman in his arms. That woman smiled seductively, released Huang Xi, and linked arms with Huang Wei. "Sister seems to be in good spirits! I was going to go out with him to watch a movie, but since Sister's good friend is here, why don't we play cards together?" 0

Huang Wei smiled back and held her hand in return. 0

Huang Xi waved his hand, looking quite helpless. "Fine, if you're not going to watch the movie, I'll go by myself. You take your time playing; any money you lose will be on me." 0

"What about me?" Huang Wei smiled, her eyes sparkling like stars, more beautiful than flowers. 0

"Of course, that counts for you too." Huang Xi gently pecked Huang Wei on the cheek and pinched the woman's waist before leaving. 0

The woman laughed charmingly, linking her arm with Huang Wei's. The two looked like close sisters, leaving Cheng Mo Su even more confused. Huang Wei hurriedly introduced, "This is Diana." 0

That name sounded familiar. Cheng Mo Su thought for a moment and remembered that Huang Wei's brother had once kept a dancer named Diana. Could these two Dianas be the same person? 0

Diana seemed to sense her confusion and didn't mind at all. "Miss Cheng must be wondering if I'm that Diana from the nightclub. Yes, I was indeed a dancer before, but I don't do that anymore. Now I follow Mr. Huang." 0

"Huang Wei..." Cheng Mo Su quietly pulled her aside and politely smiled at Diana, who took the hint and left. Once she was far enough away, Cheng Mo Su asked, "What's going on? What is your husband’s relationship with Diana?" 0

Huang Wei rolled her eyes at her and playfully tapped her forehead. "Silly, can't you see? They're lovers." 0

Cheng Mo Su was even more perplexed. "Aren't you bothered? They're so blatant about it." 0

"What does it matter?" Huang Wei shrugged nonchalantly. "Families like ours are all like this. I've seen my dad bring his lovers home since I was little; I've gotten used to it." Her gaze shifted, deep and obscure. "Anyway, I don't like him; it’s fine by me. He can bring women home, and I can go find men. We both know what's going on; we play our own games. Don't worry, I won't be at a loss." 0

"Then why did you get married?" 0

Huang Wei scoffed and patted Cheng Mo Su's shoulder. "My dear Mo Su, you're really naive. We got married to strengthen our family's power. Although we’re playing around now, we both know we won’t divorce. Decades from now, the one by his side will only be me. After having our fun when we're young, we'll naturally settle down together when we're older, right?" 0

"Of course not." Cheng Mo Su's fair face flushed slightly with anger, her long eyelashes fluttering as her brows quivered. "Only those who love each other should get married and live together. Don't you love Xu Hua?" 0

"Yes." Huang Wei finally reacted to that name. "I do love Xu Hua, but my dad won't let me marry him. If I don't listen to my dad, he'll cut ties with me. At that point, not only will I be unable to help Xu Hua, but I'll also drag him down. How could such a marriage possibly last?" 0

Cheng Mo was stunned for a moment, every word striking her heart like a hammer, causing her pain. 0

"Alright, let's go play cards. Diana is still waiting for us," Huang Wei said, pulling her hand and leading her away, a hint of pride on his face. "By the way, do you know what my relationship with Xu Hua is now?" 0

Cheng Mo didn't want to know and shook her head dismissively. She smiled lightly and said, "Forget it, if you don't want to tell me, then don't." 0

She stared blankly at Huang Wei, her mind buzzing with noise that made it hard to think. Water-colored Eyes gazed directly at Huang Wei in disbelief. "Xu Hua... he..." 0

"Are you trying to say he's still with my Auntie?" Huang Wei continued to smile, but the smile was hollow and uninteresting, lacking the vibrancy it once had. "I knew that long ago, but I don't care." 0

Cheng Mo felt a sharp pain in her heart. She made an excuse to say goodbye and turned to leave without looking back at her. 0

By the time she got home, it was already evening. She didn't call for a ride but walked home on foot, feeling dazed. The changes in Huang Wei were too drastic for her to accept; she couldn't understand why Huang Wei had become like this. 0

"Hey, the young lady is back. Welcome home," Xu Hua happened to be visiting Cheng Yi. 0

Cheng Mo raised her eyes to look at him and offered a polite smile, but inside she felt a deep annoyance towards him. She ignored him and went straight into Cheng Yi's room, wanting to tell her father not to let Xu Hua come over anymore. 0

However, as soon as she entered, she saw her father's pale face and the swirling smoke rising from his pipe. A sense of foreboding swept through her heart. 0
