Back in the dormitory, it was already near dawn. 0

She opened the door quietly, afraid of waking others. She casually changed into light blue pajamas, and the moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating her fair cheeks, filling the room with beauty. She reached out to tidy her bed and lay down, but sleep eluded her. 0

She was not unaffected by what Brother Zuo had done, but if being moved could sustain a relationship, she wouldn’t be in such distress. 0

The moonlight was just right, yet her mood remained poor. 0

A series of ringing interrupted her thoughts. The girls in the dorm were deep in sleep, so the responsibility of answering the phone naturally fell to her. She muttered to herself about who could be calling at such a late hour and reluctantly picked up the receiver, whispering, "Hello." 0

There was silence on the other end, and her fingers trembled slightly as her heart raced inexplicably. 0

After a while, a voice finally came through—one she knew all too well, one that haunted her dreams and broke her heart. "Hello, Mo Su?" 0

Her heart trembled as her long hair cascaded around her fingertips. Her dark, thick eyelashes drooped low, hiding the tears in her eyes. Her lips moved slightly; his voice was like an old dream from the past that reminded her of an unforgettable history. But why did he always shake her resolve whenever she made a decision? 0

After a moment of silence, she softly replied, "I'm sorry, you have the wrong number." 0

The line was cruelly cut off; distant waves could never convey deep longing and sorrow. Her hand rested on the cold receiver as her downcast gaze quietly spilled her heartbeat. 0

"Mo Su, you're back! Why aren't you sleeping at this hour? What are you doing standing here?" Yeh Zhenzhen seemed to have been awakened by the noise and asked as she opened her eyes. 0

She pursed her lips and gently shook her head but suddenly felt as if her body weighed a thousand pounds and collapsed heavily. 0

When she woke again, it was already dawn. 0

A strong and pungent smell of traditional Chinese medicine filled her nostrils. Her beautiful brows furrowed together as she remembered that she had fainted last night. 0

Yeh Zhenzhen was sitting beside her. Seeing that she was awake, she let out a sigh of relief and said, "You really scared me yesterday! Thankfully it was just a cold and fever. Your health is so poor; you should dress more warmly." 0

She revealed a faint smile, warmth spreading through her heart as she nodded and said, "Don't worry; there won't be a next time." 0

Her water-colored eyes turned slightly to look around the hospital with some curiosity. Yeh Zhenzhen quickly explained with a smile, "This is a traditional Chinese medicine clinic run by Chinese people. I always come here for treatment; I brought you here yesterday." 0

As they spoke, Xiao Zuowei pushed open the door and walked in. Cheng Mo's Water Eyes shimmered, and she straightened up. Yeh Zhenzhen, understanding the situation, stepped out to give them some space. 0

The jade-colored screen adorned a hidden area. She held a black piece and placed it delicately on the board. He smiled slightly and casually placed a white piece, causing the entire chessboard to come alive with a faint glow. She raised her eyes, her gentle smile illuminating her face, with her dark hair half-tied up and her fair cheeks radiating a soft light. For a moment, he was captivated. 0

"This traditional Chinese medicine clinic is quite unique; it has everything from music to chess to calligraphy and painting, making it hardly seem like a place for healing," Cheng Mo broke the silence first. 0

"Isn't it?" he replied with a smile, pouring her a small cup of clear tea and bringing it to her lips. She took a gentle sip of the steaming tea and smiled slightly, saying, "Zuowei Gege, don't always frown." 0

Xiao Zuowei was taken aback for a moment and replied with a smile, "Alright. But you can't always be like this; why is your health so poor?" 0

"Maybe I caught a chill," she answered nonchalantly. "But my health is much better now than when I was back home. That winter left me with lingering effects that I couldn't shake off." 0

He quietly watched her, warmth blooming in his heart. "I see there's a kitchen in this clinic; if you want something to eat, I can make it for you." 0

"No need; just stay here with me," she said. 0

"Okay." He agreed, but they fell into silence for a moment. She gazed at Xiao Zuowei's handsome features, feeling an inexplicable lightness in her heart. Noticing her serious gaze upon him, he couldn't help but chuckle, "What are you looking at?" 0

She was slightly startled, her long lashes fluttering and her cheeks turning pink. "Nothing..." She didn't know what was happening to her; she felt a piercing pain for Xiao Zuowei as if looking at him revealed her sensitive and fragile self. Despite being such an annoying person, he had always stayed by her side—how deep could his feelings be? She thought he couldn't untangle that either. 0

He no longer avoided her gaze but looked directly at her. Only then did he realize that although she was unwell, she had become even more graceful than before—her youthful innocence faded into maturity—but those Water-colored Eyes remained as bright as ever. 0

Her face grew increasingly red without any response from her, enveloping the room in silence. She wanted to break it but found no words to say; it felt as if her body were imprisoned on this sickbed. After a long pause, she slowly said, "Zuowei Gege, let's go for a walk." 0

It was getting late, and the neon lights began to appear. 0

Xiao Zuowei supported her; she had already recovered significantly. They strolled along the lakeside, with Xiao Zuowei maintaining an exquisitely delicate distance between them—like a couple just establishing their relationship—where the boy was just one step away from holding the girl's hand. Yet his fingers twitched but ultimately did not reach out. 0

They walked aimlessly like this until someone accidentally bumped into Cheng Mo. Xiao Zuowei quickly reached out to protect her in his embrace. She nodded in thanks and slightly bowed, but he did not loosen his hold; instead, he held her tighter. 0

"Zuowei Gege..." she called softly. Only then did he realize something and immediately pulled away from the fragrant warmth he didn't want to leave behind, creating some distance between them while smiling quietly. 0

She didn't mind either, leaning against the edge of the bridge, her gaze fixed on the pure white high heels on her feet, a hint of weariness between her brows. He stood beside her, took off his trench coat, and draped it over her shoulders, smiling as he said, "Look at you, this is how you catch a cold. How can you ladies be so unafraid of the cold, wearing a Qipao in the middle of winter and running out?" 0

She was momentarily taken aback, her mind filled with Shaoyi's pitch-black eyes. The curve of his lips was neither high nor low; if one didn't look closely, they wouldn't notice his smile. He had once said the same thing and had draped a coat over her as well. She reached out to grasp the collar of the trench coat, but it no longer carried the familiar scent of smoke. 0

"Xiao Su." 0

Hearing her brother Zuo Wei calling her, she quickly snapped back to reality and revealed a faint smile, saying, "What's wrong?" 0

"Nothing, I just noticed you've been distracted." He took a deep breath, his eyes filled with concern. "What are you thinking about? Or... is it him?" 0

She lowered her head, her voice barely above a whisper. "I will forget eventually." 0

"Do you know what the best way to forget someone is?" He slowly leaned closer to her, faintly enveloped by her fragrance. For a moment, he was lost in thought and almost kissed her. He quickly steadied himself again and looked at her puzzled expression before explaining, "You'll forget your last relationship once you start a new one." 0

"Is that so..." 0

"Want to give it a try?" He leaned slightly closer to her, drawn to that sweet scent. She felt breathless but was held tightly by him and unable to move until his lips covered hers. 0

Time seemed to come to a standstill. 0
