Shangguan Shaoyi slowly pushed open the door, and Cheng Mo quietly followed behind him. The dazzling light pierced her eyes and heart, causing a sharp pain. In the hall sat people with various expressions; Shangguan Yiting looked inquisitive, Jiang Yating's eyes were filled with bitterness, while Ruan Yu, filled with uncontrollable anger, was about to erupt.
Cheng Mo lightly pressed her Rose-Colored Lips together as she slowly brushed past Shangguan Shaoyi, only to be pulled into Ruan Yu's embrace. He looked down at her slightly reddened eyes and cheeks, feeling himself deeply immersed in this gentle beauty. Having seen many beautiful women since childhood, he did not consider Cheng Mo to be extraordinarily stunning; however, her faint smile, the gentle curve of her lips, her watery eyes, and her picturesque brows exuded a unique charm that made him unable to resist stopping.
He gazed into Shangguan Shaoyi's deep Eyes, angrily saying, “I don’t understand what you mean, Major General Shangguan, taking my wife out for so long!”
Shangguan Shaoyi looked at him indifferently, his gaze drifting to the Rosewood clock on the wall. “There’s still time; it hasn’t affected your return to the Northwest, Major General Ruan.” He paused, seemingly casually glancing at Cheng Mo’s delicate profile. “Instead of wasting time here being angry with me, you might as well hurry up and leave; otherwise, you might have to stay in Ning Tian for several more days.”
“You!” A surge of hostility erupted from Ruan Yu's narrow Eyes, but he was left speechless by Shangguan Shaoyi. However, it was not his style to leave sulkily after packing up his things. Realizing this, he raised a cold smile and said, “Major General Shangguan, there are two great grievances in ancient times: one is the hatred of a father’s murder, and the other is the hatred of a wife’s abduction. I believe you know how much I love my wife. If you take her away like this, I will not let it go easily!”
“What do you want?” Shangguan Shaoyi raised an eyebrow, and the surrounding air seemed to freeze as if a great battle was about to break out.
Ruan Yu tightened his grip on Cheng Mo’s arm even more; the beauty in his arms was already damp with cold sweat on her back and was slightly shifting her steps. He provocatively smiled and pulled her closer to himself; their breaths intertwined in the distant air as her clear Eyes, like water, rippled into his heart.
Seeing Shangguan Shaoyi's tightly furrowed brows made him feel somewhat pleased. He raised his voice and said, “Major General Shangguan, if you are unkind, I cannot be righteous. This agreement is no longer valid; I want to tear it up!”
Shangguan Yiting and Jiang Yating were suddenly alarmed and hurried over to dissuade him. However, Ruan Yu was not someone who would listen to such words; the smile at the corners of his lips grew colder. Shangguan Shaoyi, on the other hand, appeared indifferent; the coldness in his eyes seemed lethal as they faced off against each other, freezing the air into ice.
Seeing that the situation had become irretrievable, Jiang Yating could only look at Cheng Mo, anxiously saying, “Madam Ruan, please persuade Major General Ruan; this contract is highly beneficial for him. We also do not want to make a big deal out of this matter. Working together against external enemies is the best choice.”
Cheng Mo nodded and raised her gaze towards Ruan Yu's narrow Eyes. Her soft voice echoed in the air: “Major General Yu, please don’t act impulsively. Major General Shangguan hasn’t done anything to me; please rest assured.”
“Is that so?” He tightened his grip on her wrist even more, wrapping his arms around her waist securely. His dry lips brushed against her delicate skin as he gently licked around her Rose-Colored Lips, almost intoxicated by her fragrant scent. Pulling slightly away from her side allowed him to steady himself before provocatively looking at Shangguan Shaoyi.
Shangguan Shaoyi glared at him fiercely; if looks could kill, his punishment would be a thousand cuts.
Cheng Mo felt a blush rise to her face, an uncontrollable shyness flooding her heart. This was Ruan Yu's first kiss with her, and it happened right in front of Shaoyi. She bit down hard on her rose-colored lips, feeling her blood rush to her head, her heart racing. Her fingertips slowly lost their color, and everything went dark as she fainted.
Ruan Yu hurriedly caught her, feeling extremely anxious and knowing how frivolous his actions had been moments ago. He quickly picked up Cheng Mo and said, "Please ask Young Master Shangguan to call a doctor; I will take Su'er back to her room."
Cheng Mo slightly closed her eyes, feeling as if she had sunk into a soft embrace. She struggled to maintain her consciousness and slowly opened her eyes, surrounded by the ink wash paintings she had created. In her ears was Ruan Yu's surprised voice, "Su'er, you're awake?"
"Mm." She knew she had only fainted for a moment. She reached out to turn on the pink plum blossom lamp, and the soft light accentuated her snow-like skin and beautiful eyes.
His heart fluttered as he reached out to stroke her waterfall-like hair, the dark strands contrasting beautifully against the pure white sheets. She gradually sat up straight, her silky hair cascading down to her slender waist. With a faint smile, she said, "Young Master Yu, you mustn't act impulsively; the treaty cannot be torn up."
The first thing she said upon waking was about such matters of concern. He felt a deep resentment in his heart; the fiery flame in his narrow eyes burned out completely. He fiercely pressed against her rose-colored lips, and her flushed cheeks appeared even more enchanting in his eyes. Unable to bear the heat coursing through him, he pushed her down onto the soft bed.
A knock at the door interrupted his advance just in time. He regained his usual indifferent expression, smoothing out her disheveled clothes and hair as he said, "Come in."
"The doctor is here." Shangguan Shaoyi entered with a German doctor from the Shangguan family. This doctor had treated her multiple times before; now that she had become Madam Ruan, he turned a blind eye and approached to examine her. He smiled and said, "Young Master Shangguan, Young Master Ruan, Madam Ruan's condition is not serious; it's just that her physical constitution is too weak to handle intense emotions and actions. She fainted for a moment but will be fine with some rest."
"Thank you." Shangguan Shaoyi gestured to him, and the doctor wisely stepped back.
Ruan Yu smirked slightly and raised an eyebrow. "Young Master Shangguan, what I said earlier about tearing up the agreement was just in anger; please don't take it to heart."
"Of course." Shangguan Shaoyi glanced back at Cheng Mo's pale face; her water-colored eyes were particularly bright. He withdrew his gaze and said, "Today we've already missed the train; please stay at my house for now."
"Yes, there's no way around it." Ruan Yu shrugged and smiled silently. "Mosu's health isn't great either. I think we should head back to the Northwest in a few days. I'll need to trouble Shangguan Shaoying with the ticket purchase; please help me buy tickets for three days from now."
Cheng Mosu smiled lightly at Shangguan Shaoyi. "I appreciate your help, Shangguan Shaoying."
