As night fell, the sky sparkled with countless stars. She gazed at the vast Milky Way, feeling as if she might be drawn into it. Her delicate fingers absentmindedly fiddled with the silver knife and fork, and the peach blossom pattern imprinted on the plate paired with the pure white cream pastry brought a unique joy. 0

Jiexiang softly called from the doorway, bringing her back to reality. "Madam, are you asleep?" 0

"No," she replied, furrowing her delicate brows. "Is there something you need?" 0

"Nothing much, Young Master just instructed me to check if you were asleep." 0

Cheng Mosu lowered her gaze and opened the door, lightly raising her Rose-Colored Lips. "Is there something you need, Ruan Yu? If not, I have something I would like to discuss with you." 0

"Please go ahead, Madam." 0

She paused for a moment, her fingers resting on the door frame. The wind chime on the curtain made a soft rustling sound, and the deep blue color was as clear and bright as the sea, highlighting her Water Eyes even more. "Ruan Yu and I have no relationship; you don't need to call me 'Madam' anymore. It feels quite awkward to me. My surname is Su; you can call me Miss Cheng Mo Su." 0

Jiexiang looked at her in disbelief, tears welling up in her eyes, looking pitiful and charming. "How can this be? Young Master has instructed that you are Madam; you are indeed Madam. Please don’t put me in a difficult position; if Young Master finds out, I could lose my life." 0

It was already the Republic of China Period; how could there still be such a maid who feared her master? She had an idea and took Jiexiang's hand, inviting her into the room. The flames in the Baroque fireplace were blazing brightly, and the vibrant colors made her skin look like smooth as cream, with brows like distant mountains. 0

Jiexiang stared at Cheng Mosu, lost in thought. Although Madam was not a celestial being descended from heaven, she was like a fairy in the world—elegant and noble—far surpassing any of Young Master's previous beauties. No wonder such a fickle person as Young Master had changed his ways and dismissed all the women in the residence. 0

"Jiexiang, have you had dinner? If not, let’s eat together," she said as her gentle voice flowed through the air like a stream. 0

Jiexiang hurriedly declined. "I'm sorry, Madam; I can't do that. Young Master has instructed us that we are merely servants and cannot dine at the same table as you. Please don’t make it difficult for me; if Young Master finds out, I would be in big trouble." 0
Cheng Mosu saw the fear in her eyes and no longer insisted, simply saying, "Alright, I understand. You can leave now." 0

Jiexiang let out a huge sigh of relief and withdrew. Curiosity filled her heart even more; why were these people so afraid of Ruan Yu? 0

She focused slightly, as if she heard a sobbing sound, and hurried out of the room, only to see Jiexiang kneeling on the ground, with Ruan Yu's narrow Eyes radiating malice in front of her. 0

"Who allowed you to barge into the lady's room?" 0

"No... no one allowed it. I... I know I was wrong and won't dare to do it again." Jiexiang bit her lip tightly, trying not to let her tears of grievance fall. Ruan Yu snorted, clearly not intending to let her off the hook. "Come to my room at midnight tonight; you know what to do." 0

"Yes." Jiexiang replied submissively. Ruan Yu narrowed his eyes and noticed Cheng Mosu standing not far away, a smirk appearing at the corner of his mouth. "Why the frown? Who upset you? I'll help you teach them a lesson." 0

Cheng Mosu frowned, her Water-colored Eyes darting between the two. Although she didn't understand what kind of punishment Jiexiang would face, this matter ultimately stemmed from her. She slowly walked towards Ruan Yu, her gaze bright and clear. "It's not Jiexiang's fault; I was the one who let her into my room..." 0

"Our family has rules; the maids are not allowed in the lady's room at night. I won't blame you for not knowing, but Jiexiang knows very well and still went against my wishes. A punishment is inevitable." Ruan Yu said nonchalantly, but seeing Cheng Mosu's expression grow colder, he softened his tone. "Lady, do you have any objections?" 0

"In that case, I'll take the punishment together with Jiexiang." She bit her Rose-Colored Lips, looking at him defiantly. Unexpectedly, he laughed heartily, unable to suppress the teasing smile at the corners of his lips. "Alright then, come to my room with her tonight." 0

She felt something was off and looked at Jiexiang questioningly, but Jiexiang seemed oblivious, staring blankly at the patterns on the floor. She had no choice but to focus on Ruan Yu, asking, "What punishment?" 0

"What can happen when a man and woman share a room at night?" He raised an eyebrow, watching as Cheng Mosu's fair complexion slowly turned red like blooming flowers. 0

"You..." She uttered this one word, unable to think of anything to describe Ruan Yu's absurd behavior. But Ruan Yu only grew more pleased with himself, his smile becoming increasingly bothersome. "So I was still very good to you recently; think about it, isn't that right?" 0

She lowered her brows, and the unspeakable anger in her heart expanded in circles. Water-colored Eyes rippled fiercely, "Ruan Yu, you are being too much. Although they are just maids, they also have parents. You should feel satisfied that they come to serve you, yet you still..." 0

"A maid is just a maid, a soldier is just a soldier, Young Master is Young Master, and a general is a general." He said indifferently, "If everyone were as merciful as you, then where would the order in this world come from? I was born and died on the Battlefield; while I may not be able to benefit everyone, I have at least protected one side's stability. Therefore, indulging myself like this is a right I deserve." 0

She looked at him calmly. Although she detested his jungle law immensely, she couldn't think of a rebuttal to his words. She only heard him pause before continuing, "Only the strong have the right to speak. The weak can only be controlled. If my relatives or friends violate military law, I will execute them without hesitation. If my enemies defeat me, I am willing to offer my life and acknowledge that they have risen above me." 0

"This is your way of survival?" She glanced at him, feeling that his good temper from days ago was merely a facade. 0

He raised an eyebrow and nodded, "Exactly." 0

Cheng Mosu lowered her long Eyelashes, suddenly recalling something she had vaguely heard before: Ruan Yu had an older brother, which was why he could not inherit the position of Ruan the Great Marshal. However, later he instigated a rebellion, killed his father and brother, and seized their military power. The women who witnessed all of this back then did not escape his clutches either. 0

She looked into his narrow Eyes and felt as if she had entered a den of demons, sending chills down her spine. 0
