Ruan Yu curled his lips and raised his palm, "Cai Deputy Officer, listen to my command. Once my wife and I are safely home, you can disperse the encirclement here." 0

"Yes!" Cai Deputy Officer stood at attention and saluted. 0

Ruan Yu turned back to look at Cheng Mosu. Seeing her clear eyes made his unhappy emotions dissipate into thin air. He extended his hand towards her, the complex lines on his palm mirroring his complicated feelings. She paused for a moment, her fair complexion bathed in a layer of soft sunlight. He cleared his throat, interrupting her thoughts, and she finally raised her beautifully arched brows, giving him a light smile as she took his hand, which he gently pulled to help her onto the horse. 0

"Father-in-law, I will take my wife home now. It's quite normal for couples to argue, but it's not good behavior to return to one's parental home after a quarrel." He squinted his narrow eyes at Cheng Yi, "You need not worry, Father-in-law. I will treat Mosu well. Soon, I will have Cai Deputy Officer escort you back." 0

Before Cheng Yi could respond, he raised the whip, and the chestnut horse galloped down the street. The vehicles and pedestrians on the road frowned but dared not voice any objections to this tyrant from the Northwest; they could only give way and let him pass. He held Cheng Mosu tightly, his warm lips brushing against her silky hair, the heat transferring through the air to her heart, causing her to feel flustered. 0

Before long, they had returned to the estate. He set her down and looked at her slightly flushed cheeks, which resembled the peach blossoms in the courtyard. He couldn't help but exclaim with a smile, "Truly, the beauty of a person is reflected in the blooming peach blossoms." 0

Cheng Mosu rarely heard Ruan Yu recite poetry; a barely noticeable smile appeared at the corners of her lips. Ruan Yu understood and said, "What? Is it so surprising that I recite an ancient poem?" 0

She gently bit her rose-colored lips, trying not to laugh out loud. However, when she met the light in his narrow eyes, she couldn't help but chuckle softly, which lightened Ruan Yu's mood as well. 0

"I know many poems; if you don't believe me, you can test me." Ruan Yu had initially worried that she might be sulking, but seeing her smile eased his heart. What did it matter if he was teased a little? So he continued with her line of conversation. 0

Cheng Mosu lifted her watery eyes to gaze quietly at him before lowering her lashes again; yet the faint smile at the corners of her lips remained. "Let's not test anything else; just test this poem of yours. Do you know what this poem is called and who wrote it?" 0

"It's called Peach Blossom Poem; I wrote it!" He raised an eyebrow with a carefree smile that deepened her laughter as she retorted playfully, "You really don't know how to feel embarrassed." 0

"Oh? Then please enlighten me, my lady." His narrow eyes sparkled with warmth that made Cheng Mosu unable to look directly at him; she gently turned away her gaze to focus on the sea of pink blossoms around them, feeling an indescribable sensation rise within her heart. 0

Her voice was as calm as water, gently drifting through the air. "This is a poem by Cui Hu, titled 'On the Southern Village of the Capital.'" 0

"And then?" he gestured for her to continue. She lowered her brows, her eyes slightly reddened, and softly recited, "Last year on this day at this gate, the human face and peach blossoms reflected each other in red. The human face is nowhere to be found, yet the peach blossoms still smile in the spring breeze." 0

His expression changed instantly, a sharp pain coursing through his heart like needles. Although he was not well-versed in poetry, he could understand these lines. A flicker of rage flashed through him; the smile in his narrow eyes slowly faded. He reached out and grasped her delicate wrist, turning to the Cai Deputy Officer who had just rushed over to report, saying, "Tell them to cut down all these Peach Trees! Not a single one is to be left!" 0

The Cai Deputy Officer glanced at the blooming pink flowers and suddenly felt reluctant to comply. However, since it was the Young Commander's order, he had no choice but to obey and stood at attention to salute. Ruan Yu shot him a glance and said, "Is there anything else?" 0

"Yes. I have already evacuated the soldiers surrounding the Southern Gang and sent Mr. Cheng to his hotel to rest." 0

"You did well. Buy a Train ticket for tomorrow; take my Father-in-law back to Shanghai yourself, understood?" Ruan Yu no longer looked at him and took Cheng Mosu toward Inside the House. Cheng Mosu lightly bit her rose-colored lips, feeling his cool gaze on her made her lose all poetic sentiment. 0

Jiexiang saw them return and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief as she hurried over. "Young Mistress, you’re back!" Noticing that both of their expressions were not good, she tactfully added, "The Young Master just said some angry words in a fit of temper; what couple doesn’t argue? You shouldn’t just leave like that; the Young Master really worries about you." 0

Cheng Mosu nodded. Even if she wanted to leave, Ruan Yu would never let her go again. Thinking of this made her sigh softly. Ruan Yu's heart stirred; that slight sigh etched a mark in his heart. He looked at Cheng Mosu's delicate profile as she fell silent and softened his voice. "Mosu, you've been through so much; you must be hungry now. What do you want to eat? I’ll have the Kitchen prepare it." 0

She tilted her head slightly; if she stayed with Ruan Yu like this, she wouldn’t know what to say. It was better to keep some distance and calm her emotions. "No need; you can tell me what you want to eat, and I’ll go to the Kitchen to make it for you." 0

He was taken aback for a moment; a smile seeped into his narrow eyes, clearly not understanding that Cheng Mosu simply didn’t want to be with him while suggesting going to the Kitchen to cook instead. He took it as her changing her attitude and said, "Anything is fine; as long as it's made by you, I’m willing to eat anything." 0

She smiled lightly, silently withdrawing her hand from his grip and said to Jiexiang, "Let’s go; we’ll check what we can make in the Kitchen." Jiexiang nodded and then heard Cheng Mosu say to Ruan Yu, "But I must say first that I only know a little bit; if it doesn’t taste good, don’t blame me." 0

"I won’t blame you; naturally not." Ruan Yu rarely smiled sincerely like this. That pure smile made her momentarily stunned as she lowered her brows again and followed Jiexiang into the Kitchen. 0

She looked at the dazzling array of fruits and vegetables, lost in thought. It had been years since she last cooked, and she couldn't guarantee that she could make anything tasty. If she attempted something too complicated, it would likely take too long, especially since it was already one o'clock in the afternoon and everyone was hungry. If she made something simple, Ruan Yu might not find it to his liking. 0

"Young Mistress, what should we make?" Jiexiang asked with an expectant look. She thought for a moment; after all, Ruan Yu had said that he would eat whatever she made. Since that was the case... 0

She smiled and said, "Let's just make some noodles." 0

"Noodles?" Jiexiang exclaimed in surprise, "Isn't that a bit too simple and casual?" 0

Cheng Mosu smiled lightly, her water-colored eyes shimmering. "There's no choice; I don't know how to make anything complicated. Besides, Ruan Yu said he doesn't mind, so making some noodles will be fine." 0

He stood not far away. Although he couldn't hear what she was saying, he was captivated by the soft light radiating from her delicate features. He couldn't help but feel his heart flutter and silently vowed that no matter what method he used, he would preserve this serene beauty. Even if it meant making her hate him for a lifetime, he would not hesitate! 0
