Two security guards from the market suddenly appeared.
"What’s going on?"
"This young man stole my suit!" The old lady quickly accused Jiang Chen as soon as she saw her backup arrive.
Jiang Chen simply remained silent, watching their performance.
Sure enough, the two security guards pretended to ask the old lady a few more questions before they began to "earnestly" lecture Jiang Chen: "Young man, how can you do such a thing? If you can't afford it, then don't buy it. How can you steal?"
"I bought this suit!" Jiang Chen replied calmly.
"Hey, young man, how could you possibly buy a suit for 10 yuan? Forget it, we are reasonable people. Just return the clothes to her, and we won't send you to jail. We'll just fine you 100 yuan!"
What? A fine too? Jiang Chen couldn't help but sneer inwardly!
"I have already bought this suit; there’s no reason for me to return it! As for the fine, don’t even think about it!"
"What? What kind of attitude is that? If you don’t pay the fine, you can’t leave!" The two security guards thought Jiang Chen would be intimidated by their imposing presence, but they didn’t expect him to remain completely calm.
The old lady felt emboldened after the guards arrived. However, seeing Jiang Chen so composed made her anxious.
"You can't stop me if I want to leave!" Jiang Chen said as he stepped toward the exit.
The two security guards were furious and quickly blocked his way.
With a cold laugh, Jiang Chen lightly pushed them aside, causing both guards to crash heavily to the ground.
"Ouch!" they cried out in pain; it seemed their ribs were broken, and they couldn't get up.
Jiang Chen casually walked out of the clothing market and headed to a restaurant for lunch.
After finishing his meal, Jiang Chen made a phone call.
"Hello! Is this Jiang Tongcheng? Li Huailong recommended that I call you; my name is Jiang Chen!"
"Oh, Director Jiang, I’m Jiang Tongcheng. Li Huailong called me and said you would be coming to Shihu City. Where are you now? I’ll come pick you up."
"I'm at the entrance of the clothing market!"
"Great, that’s not far from me! Wait for me; my car is a Land Rover with a license plate number consisting of five threes."
Twenty minutes later, a Land Rover pulled up at the entrance of the clothing market. A burly young man got out and looked around.
When Jiang Chen saw the license plate with five threes, he knew this person must be Jiang Tongcheng. Since he didn’t recognize him, he was scanning the area. Although Jiang Chen was within his line of sight, he probably didn’t catch his attention.
Jiang Chen walked up to him. "General Jiang, hello! I am Jiang Chen!" Jiang Tongcheng, a wealthy second-generation heir holding a vice president position in his father's company, referred to him this way.
"You are Jiang Chen?" Jiang Tongcheng was surprised! This is the "expert" that even Li Huailong admires? Is there a mistake?
"Hello!" Jiang Tongcheng extended his hand. Since the person introduced himself, he should be decent; however, his skills probably aren't as exaggerated as Li Huailong said!
The two shook hands.
Suddenly, Jiang Tongcheng applied pressure to test Jiang Chen's reaction. However, Jiang Chen's hand felt soft and weak, making Jiang Tongcheng feel as if he had punched a cotton ball.
Strange? He didn't exert force on me, yet I couldn't do anything to him. Could this be what a true expert is like?
"Alright, General Jiang, no need to hold hands for too long!" Jiang Chen smiled and released his grip first. Your strength is simply not enough; I couldn't be bothered to exert myself!
Jiang Tongcheng reluctantly let go of his hand! Why does it feel like I lost?
"Let's get in the car!" Although Jiang Tongcheng felt unwilling, he couldn't be rude; he believed there would be plenty of opportunities to draw out Jiang Chen's abilities.
Just as Jiang Chen was about to get in the car, a sharp voice interrupted.
"Wait, ugly kid, you think you can run after hurting our people!"
Two burly men came over to block Jiang Chen. Naturally, Jiang Chen didn't recognize them, but Jiang Tongcheng did; these two were bodyguards of the clothing market owner, Chen Tianbiao.
"Brother Cheng, sorry, we are here on Brother Biao's orders to have a word with this brother. What do you think...?" The two bodyguards also recognized Jiang Tongcheng.
Jiang Tongcheng knew that if he wanted to stop this "conversation," it would only take a word! The name "Brother Cheng" still held weight around here and could make an impact.
However, Jiang Tongcheng didn't want to do that. Li Huailong only asked him to "entertain" Jiang Chen and didn't instruct him to "take care of" him. Most importantly, he wanted to see what Jiang Chen was capable of. After all, if Jiang Chen was indeed as Li Huailong described, then having this "conversation" wouldn't matter. Moreover, he had no ties with Chen Tianbiao; if they took away Jiang Chen without reason, it would mean owing Chen Tianbiao a favor.
"What’s going on?" Jiang Tongcheng decided to clarify the situation first. He seemed to be asking both the bodyguards and Jiang Chen.
"Who are you?" Jiang Chen guessed it had something to do with the two security guards but needed confirmation.
"We are from the management company of this clothing market. Did you just injure our two security guards?" one of the burly men asked. It seemed they were being polite because of Jiang Tongcheng's presence.
"They blocked my way; I merely pushed them aside! I didn't expect those two guards to be so weak that they fell over with just a shove. I don't know if they were injured!" Jiang Chen downplayed it.
"Our two security guards have several broken ribs. Please come with us to the office to discuss compensation!"
"That was their own fault for falling; I can't possibly compensate them, so I won't go to your office for discussions! General Jiang, let's go!" After saying that, Jiang Chen prepared to get in the car.
The two became anxious and shouted at Jiang Tongcheng: "Brother Cheng, your friend is being uncooperative; we have no choice but to invite him forcibly; otherwise, we won't be able to explain it to Brother Biao!"
"Well then, if you have the ability to invite my friend along, please do! I won't stop you; that should be fine!"
Jiang Tongcheng wanted to test Jiang Chen's abilities, so he naturally did not make things difficult for the two bodyguards.
The two bodyguards were overjoyed to hear this and immediately approached Jiang Chen, each intending to grab one of his arms and take him to Brother Biao's office.
However, with a "thud," both bodyguards were sent flying several meters away, crashing to the ground. Jiang Chen appeared relaxed as he got into the car.
Jiang Tongcheng was stunned! He stood nearby and had not seen how Jiang Chen made his move. At this moment, he began to believe Li Huailong's words; this person was indeed extraordinary!
Since Jiang Chen had already gotten into the car, Jiang Tongcheng had no choice but to prepare to take the driver's seat and drive away.
"Wait, director Jiang!"
Upon seeing this, Jiang Tongcheng noticed that Chen Tianbiao had arrived. He had been watching everything from a distance.
" director Jiang, I would like to invite your friend to my office for a discussion. I hope you can give me this favor!" As he approached, Chen Tianbiao cupped his hands in greeting towards Jiang Tongcheng.
"Brother Biao, how could I refuse your request? However, since this friend is someone I am meeting for the first time, whether he is willing to go with you is up to him!"
