Sometimes people can be a bit extreme. When their efforts do not yield corresponding rewards, they won't always remain patient and compliant; they may even develop a sense of revenge.
I was left here, and my initial fear quickly turned into dissatisfaction with Xiao Minxing. Eventually, under the influence of this mindset, I called Su Qian.
When he heard that I wanted to hang out with him, he immediately told me to wait where I was, and he would come to pick me up.
We met outside the airport. He didn't ask anything and took me to the places he had described.
They were indeed breathtaking. At least these mountains and waters were not visible in Haicheng. Even the color of the sky was different from other places. Occasionally, we would see travelers whose faces were filled with smiles, completely unaware of life's disappointments.
We wandered around for a week. Besides visiting those famous spots, Su Qian also took me to experience the local customs and traditions. Sometimes when we walked too far and couldn't find a place to eat, we would directly find a local family and share authentic local dishes with them.
I have to say that being with Su Qian was very relaxing. I hardly had to worry about anything; he arranged everything regarding food, accommodation, and transportation very well. He never made me feel awkward or deliberately distant.
In many details, sometimes I wouldn't even think about something, but he would silently take care of it.
When I returned from Yunnan, I felt a bit reluctant to leave such a trip behind because I knew that returning to Haicheng meant facing a chaotic life again and that constantly low-pressure Xiao Minxing.
During that week, he didn't call me at all. I would call him almost every day, but he never answered.
To be honest, in the quiet of the night, I still missed him. But I didn't know when it started; that longing for beauty had already mixed with too many unpleasant emotions.
Some memories were too profound for me to forget, while others were particularly contradictory, making it hard for me to see his true feelings.
I didn't know how long we could maintain this relationship. Perhaps when he wants to give Lu Yishan a beautiful marriage in the future, he will let me go; maybe he never will. But as time passed day by day, the initial feelings of excitement and pain were diminishing.
There was still some distance from the airport to my home. Su Qian didn't offer to drive me home, and I didn't want to trouble him any further.
After parting ways at the airport, I got into a taxi while he got into his own car. We both headed toward the seaside villa one after another.
However, as we passed by my house, his car showed no signs of slowing down and gently glided past.
Xiao Minxing wasn't home; everything was quiet. I carried my things upstairs and automatically went to check the bedroom where I used to live, but the door was still locked. Helplessly, I could only leave my suitcase at the entrance and wait for him to return.
He returned late at night, smelling of alcohol, but he still looked relatively sober.
Seeing my strange expression, he stared at me sharply, his tone extremely frivolous: "Oh, you know how to come back. I thought once you were tied to a rich second generation, you'd never step foot in this house again."
I initially wanted to have a serious conversation with him, but hearing that and recalling how he had abandoned me made me very angry. I whispered, "Is he richer than you?"
Xiao Minxing actually thought about it seriously and said, "It's hard to say; his family is well-off, which I can't compare to."
"So does that mean you can divorce me and let me be with the rich second generation directly?"
As soon as I finished speaking, Xiao Minxing stepped right in front of me, his fingers gripping my chin like a vice, his gaze as sharp as ice: "Don't even think about it; you'll never have freedom in this regard."
My feet were pulled to the ground, and because of the prolonged tugging on my neck, I was struggling to breathe and couldn't speak, only able to confront him with my eyes.
Fortunately, his phone rang. He gritted his teeth and threw me to the ground. Turning away, his voice became soft enough to break one's heart.
"Yishan, what's wrong?"
I couldn't hear what was said on the other end; it took more than a minute.
Xiao Minxing quickly replied, "Okay, I understand. I'll go over now; don't move by yourself."
This man had been home for less than half an hour; aside from teaching me a lesson, he did nothing else before heading out again to Lu Yishan's house.
I got up from the ground, feeling disheartened, but Tears couldn't help but flow.
Entering Xiao Minxing's room, it was filled with his familiar scent. But ultimately, that person wouldn't belong to me; his tenderness and beauty were with someone else. As for me, I only received cold words and countless awkward moments of interaction.
I couldn't escape it; I felt like a prey trapped tightly—waiting for the master to return and tease me seemed to be all there was left in life.
Thinking he probably wouldn't return tonight either, I lay down on the bed to sleep after a tiring day.
The blanket was warm; usually, we would both cover it together while leaving a deliberate gap in the middle. Now that he wasn't here, I wrapped myself completely in the blanket like a dumpling and closed my eyes to sleep.
In the night, I felt someone get into bed too lightly but didn't pay much attention until I woke up in the morning and saw Xiao Minxing lying beside me. He was wearing nothing at all; perhaps it was too cold at night, causing his body to curl slightly.
The exposed skin clearly showed that the wounds had not completely healed, with some marks visible, and there were even traces of injuries on his face, as if the bandages had just been removed.
I moved slightly, and he opened his eyes, looking at me hazily for a moment, as if suddenly waking up. He then yanked the blanket off me and tossed me out like a tangled ball of yarn before covering himself with it and turning over to go back to sleep.
I stared at the person in front of me, increasingly confused by his behavior. I even thought he might really have some mental issues; otherwise, how could he be so unpredictable?
Anyway, I had already slept enough, so I got up to wash up. However, when I came out, I unexpectedly saw Xiao Minxing lying on the bed, staring blankly with his eyes wide open.
He looked strange, his gaze fixed on a certain point in the corner of the room, his face devoid of any expression. He seemed completely out of place here, immersed in another world that others couldn't enter.
But upon seeing me come out, he coldly said, "Go cook; a housekeeper should have professional ethics."
I nodded and didn't say a word as I went out and headed downstairs.
The fridge was stocked with everything, and all the dates were fresh. It felt like he had been home all week, but what did that have to do with me? Perhaps there were other women with him; that big bed I had slept in was occasionally a warm nest for other women too.
After he had breakfast, he drove away. Since I was bored at home and hadn't seen Mina for a long time, I decided to drive out directly to her company.
To my surprise, just as I got out of the car, I saw Su Qian getting out of another vehicle.
He seemed just as surprised to see me here and smiled with delight, saying, "What a coincidence! Who would have thought we would run into each other here?"
