Revisit him.
He had already lowered his head and continued to look at the documents in his hands, as if everything that had just happened had never occurred.
Xiao Minxing got off work a little after four in the afternoon.
I was still sitting there in a daze when I saw him simply tidy up the desk, take his coat off the hanger, and say, "Let's go."
I jumped up from the chair, looking at him in confusion and asked, "Where to?"
He shot me a glance but didn't answer. He stepped out first, took the elevator down to the basement level, and then opened the car door to get in.
After I followed him inside, he drove home without saying a word along the way.
However, as soon as we entered the house, he headed upstairs and disdainfully told me, "We're going to the old house tonight. Get ready and wear something nicer; don't make it look like I've been mistreating you all day."
The old house? When we had just gotten married, I had gone back there with Xiao Minxing a few times. Overall, the atmosphere was quite subtle. At that time, I was always on edge myself, so I didn't dare observe how others were. Later on, due to various reasons and my deteriorating situation, I stopped going altogether.
But he hadn't mentioned anything about it beforehand today. Now he wanted me to dress nicely for it; did that mean there was something important going on?
"Is there something happening?" I asked closely behind him.
He stopped at his entrance, turned around to look at me for about five seconds before awkwardly saying, "Forget it. You take a shower and wait for me; I'll pick out your clothes."
I stood stunned at his entrance, watching him go into the bathroom without even closing the door. I couldn't understand how he transitioned from that strange statement to what he was doing.
However, Xiao Minxing poked his head out from the bathroom and asked, "Do you want to wash with me?"
I wasn't eager to share a bath with him; the memories from the past hadn't faded from my mind, and now his words brought them back, causing both heartache and an unexpected quickening of my heartbeat.
I hurried back to my room, not daring to waste any time. After all, in my view, the gathering at the old house was quite formal, and since Xiao Minxing valued it, I couldn't afford to mess it up.
I grabbed some clothes and rushed into the bathroom. When I came out, Xiao Minxing was already in my room.
He hadn't changed into proper clothes either; he only had a towel wrapped around his waist.
The towel was too narrow, barely covering his upper thighs, and his long legs stood straight in front of me, still glistening with droplets of water.
My face burned as if it were on fire, and I desperately wanted to distance myself from him, but my feet wouldn't move. I could only stare at him; he had just taken a shower but was already sweating again.
He reached out and brushed my damp hair behind my ear, his fingertips grazing my cheek, which felt like fire.
I didn't even know what was happening. I had been so afraid of him before, but now facing him like this brought a strange sense of anticipation in my heart.
His voice was low and husky as he leaned closer to my ear: "Your face is very red and hot. What's wrong, Mrs. Xiao?"
My heart was racing like a wild deer, pounding crazily. My breathing became irregular due to his proximity; I could hear myself breathing heavily.
The hand that had been blocking the space between us now seemed to take on a strange posture, almost as if it were intentionally caressing his chest, resting loosely on top.
The hand that had brushed through my hair moved to my chin, his long fingers quickly lifting it up.
Then, I looked into Xiao Minxing's eyes.
It was a kind of black that seemed bottomless, like a pool of water.
In fact, aside from children, adults rarely have pure black eyes. Whether due to physical reasons or the unpredictability of life, the color often appears slightly yellow or brown. Some people's eyes even change; sometimes they are very dark, and other times not.
I used to look into Xiao Minxing's eyes, but his gaze was too piercing. Just one glance would make my heart tremble. So even though I knew the color of his irises was intense, I had never truly looked at them like this before.
Like an infant, his eyes were dark and heavy, staring at me without any concealment.
The warmth of his breath mixed with the scent from his bath enveloped me completely.
My mind had already dulled, and I could barely stand. One hand rested on his chest while the other gripped his arm.
“Did you miss me?” Xiao Minxing asked again, his voice hoarse as if it came from deep in his throat.
I couldn't respond; I felt suspended in him, my mind a muddled mess. How did it go from planning to return to the old house to this?
With just a gentle pull of his hand, he had already brought me to the bed. My body fell back slightly, and as my back hit the mattress, he leaned over me.
Our skin pressed together, yet there was no rush to do anything. His lips brushed against my ear as he asked, “Speak up; did you miss me?”
“Mm…” I was too weak to answer his question; all my senses followed his movements.
His voice remained soft, calm and unhurried: “Whether you missed me or not, you need to say it out loud. No more 'mm.'”
As he spoke these words, his large hand slipped inside my clothes and brushed against my thighs. I felt myself go limp.
Struggling to hold onto him, I desperately tried to regain some awareness and asked in a flurry, “Didn’t you say you wanted to go back to the old house?”
Xiao Minxing suddenly turned his face, his eyes locking onto mine. The initial tenderness and teasing had vanished; he transformed as if switching between an angel and a demon, his expression changing in an instant, and his movements became rough.
The loose clothing that had been draped over me was torn away in moments, and I didn't even notice when his towel disappeared.
There were no more words, no prior tenderness—he plunged directly in.
Pain and indescribable pleasure seized my heart and lungs simultaneously. I couldn't move beneath him for what felt like an eternity; even breathing seemed to be cut off. In that moment, it was as if I were floating on clouds—both ethereal and frenzied.
Xiao Minxing paused briefly, but soon he took a deep breath and began to move with all his strength.
I felt as if I were being crushed by him, my arms weakly clutching at him. I could see red marks left on his chest, neck, and shoulders, while fragmented sounds escaped from my lips, becoming even more broken.
Each note seemed to act as a catalyst for Xiao Minxing; his gaze was deep, like a ravenous beast that had found the best food, exerting force into my body without restraint.
My gasps were swallowed by him, my lips and tongue claimed and possessed.
Like a leaf in the sea, I was tossed about by his thrusts, ultimately gasping for breath, nestled beside him, unable to move.
Xiao Minxing himself had not moved for a long time; the parts that fit together had not withdrawn but remained filled. He slowly brushed my hair aside and began kissing the corners of my eyes with warm lips.
I didn't know what was happening; I only felt utterly drained, with nothing left but my eyes still watching him.
