He looked at me with fiery eyes, gripping my shoulders and asking, “Qiu Yuhan, do you really need these things that much?”
I shook my head, still unclear about what had made him so angry.
The necklace he had thrown out of the box was now lying in front of the car. Under the rising sun, the small diamonds set in it immediately sparkled brightly, almost blinding me.
His voice was cold as ice, his face pale, and his eyes fixed on me as he said slowly, “First, I won’t buy you jewelry from this brand. Second, you can’t afford this. If you’re smart enough, think quickly about where it came from; otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.”
I was genuinely panicking now. If I had seen this item before, it might have made sense, but I was sure I had never opened that box; this was the first time I had seen the necklace. How could it cause so much trouble?
In the end, I had no choice but to quietly tell him, “Let me ask Mina; maybe she put it in my bag. I really don’t remember.”
Xiao Minxing looked at me suspiciously but finally released his grip.
I hurriedly grabbed my phone and called Mina.
She probably hadn’t woken up yet; sleeping in on weekends was her habit, so when she answered my call, her voice was lazy.
I urgently asked, “Mina, did you put a necklace in my bag? It’s white with pink diamonds on it, about the size of a grain of rice.”
She initially said “no,” but then casually asked, “Does it have any letters or brand markings on it?”
I was taken aback because I had never been knowledgeable about these things. Hearing her question made me quickly grab the necklace to look for any letters but didn’t find anything she mentioned.
Instead, Xiao Minxing coldly remarked, “Dior.”
I glanced at him, and his expression was slightly better than before, probably because he believed that I really didn't know where this thing came from.
But I was already completely entangled in this matter. Upon hearing those two words, I hurriedly reported it to Mina.
Her voice changed instantly: “Dior? Or is it a pink diamond? My lady, how could you not know who this precious item belongs to? Do you have any idea how much this necklace is worth?”
“Don't worry about the price for now; just tell me if it's yours?” I was almost in a panic.
God knows how much I wished Mina would say that it had accidentally fallen into my bag, even if it was a lie; I would gladly give it to her.
Unfortunately, God was blind once again. Mina quickly replied, “It's not mine.”
I didn't even have time to ask her to think again when Xiao Xiao Minxing had already taken my phone and hung up. His previously clear expression turned dark again.
I stared at him blankly, unable to utter a single word.
He remained silent as well, his sharp gaze fixed on me, lips pressed tightly together, and the muscles in his jaw seemed tense as if they were about to burst.
I only glanced at him before lowering my head. After making a significant decision, I whispered, “Please don't be angry. I really can't remember, but can I think about it when I get back? If I remember anything, I'll definitely let you know.”
Xiao Xiao Minxing didn't waste any more words and told me to drive.
On the way to his company, I felt like I wanted to rip my brain out and lay it on the table to carefully sort through every wrinkle inside, wondering how I could have overlooked such a valuable item.
However, there was no result. In the end, Mina called me again, but this call sent me straight to hell.
She simply asked, "Did Su Qian give this to you? He loves giving things from this brand; he even gave me a pair of earrings before."
At that moment, Xiao Minxing was right next to me, and Mina's voice was loud enough that he probably heard every word, so he quickly turned his head and stared at me with a fierce gaze.
I felt a chill run down my spine and wanted to get away from him, but he moved first.
As in the past, he gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with rage, and in an instant, he tore my clothes off me, his words turning vicious and ugly.
"You're really a fraud; not only did you deceive me, but you also want to deceive others. Are you so desperate for money that you need these worthless things?"
I couldn't say a word; I didn't even know where my phone had been thrown. I desperately tried to cover myself, but I couldn't resist him at all.
Fortunately, it was the weekend, and there were only the two of us in the Office. I could hardly imagine what would happen if there were people working outside right now.
Xiao Minxing directly dragged me to the lounge on the side of his Office, almost using all his strength to throw me onto the bed.
He seemed genuinely furious, his face turning a deep shade of blue, even his fingers were trembling. But instead of forcing himself on me like before, he glared at me with a fierce look while I was terrified.
After several minutes, he suddenly got up and left without saying a word, slamming the door behind him.
Outside, there was a series of loud crashing sounds, as if something heavy had hit the glass, followed by the sound of shattering glass.
When I returned to his Office, I saw chaos everywhere. One of the windows was indeed shattered, glass shards scattered all over the floor, with some bloodstains on top.
I put my clothes back on and slowly started picking up his things.
My heart feels like ashes. It seems that there is really no need for me to continue with him. Even if I endure humiliation and bear the burden, even if I try my best not to make him angry, he still gets furious, and this not only makes me sad but also worsens his condition, which is not beneficial for either of us.
After this conflict, I slowly began to recall that necklace.
It was probably a gift from Su Qian, but at that time he seemed to say it was very cheap, and I didn’t care much about it. I just put it in my bag and didn’t look at it again, yet I didn’t expect it would bring me such trouble today.
Perhaps Mina was right; I should find him. Today’s incident could serve as a reason.
After tidying up Xiao Minxing's belongings, I even swept the broken glass into the trash can.
After leaving Zhi Xing's building, I really couldn’t stop worrying about him, so I called Lu Yiheng and told him that Xiao Minxing was in a bad situation and asked him to find a way to contact him.
Then I returned to the car and carefully put away that necklace, putting it back in its place.
As a catalyst, it certainly played an important role.
When Su Qian received my call, he was as gentle as usual. He didn’t seem surprised or take it for granted; he casually responded, “It’s the weekend today, and the weather is nice. How about going out for a walk together?”
I agreed. After hanging up the phone with him, I stood downstairs at Zhi Xing waiting for him to pick me up.
I didn’t know where he was at that moment, nor did I have an urgent desire to see him; I just wanted to find someone to escape from here.
So when Su Qian finally appeared, I had just taken a step forward when everything went dark in front of me and I felt myself falling.
