Lin Yin arrived quickly. The security guard couldn't help but associate the arrival of such a beautiful woman with his boss. Aunt Wu also chuckled, letting her imagination run wild.
Jiang Chen directly called Lin Yin to the third floor. This was a place where no one else was allowed to disturb them, making it convenient for discussions.
"Sister Lin, you must have something to discuss with me, right?"
"Can't I come to see you if there's nothing going on?"
Jiang Chen smiled, "Of course you can! You, Sister Lin, can come to me anytime!"
"That's more like it!" Lin Yin was pleased to hear Jiang Chen say that. "Did you go to the Qin family last night?"
"Yeah! How did you know? Were you following me?"
"Do I dare to follow you? With your skills, if I were following you, you wouldn't even notice! Last night, the officer from Nangang went to the Qin Family Villa; how could I, as a reporter, not know about it?"
That was true! After all, Lin Yin was a business reporter, and reporters were quite sensitive to the whereabouts of officials.
"Just because the officer went doesn't mean I did!" Jiang Chen tried to mislead her.
"Tell me what you went there for last night?" Lin Yin ignored his attempt at misdirection and was sure he had gone.
"Of course we went drinking; what else would we do?"
"I know you went drinking, but why did you go drinking? By the way, did that old man's granddaughter get into college?"
"Sister Lin, you already know and still ask me?"
"I'm just checking if you're being honest! By the way, which school is that little beauty attending?"
Jiang Chen shook his head, indicating he didn't know. He thought to himself that even if he knew, he couldn't tell her; revealing that information would be equivalent to helping them harm her.
"We will find out!" Lin Yin said.
"What do you need to know about her school schedule?" Jiang Chen asked knowingly.
"Nothing much!" Lin Yin quickly shook her head, but there was a clear hint of panic in her eyes.
Seeing her expression, Jiang Chen understood. He hadn't intended to get involved in their matters, but since he was close to Lin Yin and also had ties with the Qin family, he couldn't bear to let someone as beautiful as Qin Huansha come to harm. So completely staying out of it wasn't really an option unless he disregarded Qin Huansha's well-being entirely.
Thinking this through, Jiang Chen decided it would be best to clarify things. Continuously trying not to get involved wasn't a solution.
"Sister Lin, tell me honestly, does your Azure Feather Sect plan to take action on Qin Huansha during her school commute?"
Seeing that Jiang Chen had hit the nail on the head, Lin Yin initially didn't want to admit it but eventually nodded.
"What kind of hatred do you have against the Qin family that you want to kill Qin Huansha? She's such a beautiful girl, how could you do that?"
Lin Yin felt a surge of jealousy at his words. "Are you reluctant to let her go?"
Jiang Chen detected her sourness and smiled, "Sister Lin, if you were harmed, I would be even more reluctant! Qin Huansha is innocent; she definitely hasn't offended you Azure Feather Sect, right?"
Lin Yin brightened up. "At least you have a conscience! Qin Huansha has no ties with us Azure Feather Sect; she is just a weak link in the Qin family, so the sect leader wants us to target her."
"What kind of enmity do you have with the Qin family? Tell me about it; maybe I can help resolve your grievances."
Lin Yin shook her head. "The chances of you resolving it are slim. I don't know the specific reasons either. But I can share what I know!"
Then Lin Yin told Jiang Chen about her background and how she joined Azure Feather Sect.
Lin Yin grew up in Nangang Orphanage and knew nothing about her parents. When she was ten, the orphanage director asked if she wanted to join Azure Feather Sect. Only those willing to join would be taught martial arts; otherwise, they would only learn cultural knowledge and life skills like other children.
Being lively and active, Lin Yin naturally wanted to join Azure Feather Sect. She later went to university after leaving the orphanage and graduated last year to start working. Although she was no longer in the orphanage, she still considered herself part of Azure Feather Sect.
"So your sect leader is the orphanage director? What are the requirements for joining Azure Feather Sect? What is the purpose of this organization?" Jiang Chen wanted to learn more.
"Yes, that's right, she's the director. The requirements for joining Azure Feather Sect are simple: any pretty girl can join. The purpose is also straightforward: to eliminate evil and protect women!"
"Eliminate evil and protect women?" Jiang Chen found it amusing. "Then why do you want to kill Qin Huansha?" The disciples of Azure Feather Sect were all beautiful women, which seemed genuine since the first person who tried to run over Qin Huansha was also a beauty.
"That's an exception! Our sect leader says that Qin Huansha is a descendant of traitors, and regardless of gender, they should be eliminated! Usually, we only deal with men who abuse their partners or bully girls."
"So you're saying that Azure Feather Sect is quite a righteous organization? The sect leader claims that Qin Huansha is a descendant of traitors, meaning her parents were traitors. Why does your sect leader say that?"
Lin Yin shook her head. "I don't know. The sect leader is our master and our second parent; we just listen to whatever she says without questioning."
Jiang Chen understood that there must be some enmity between the sect leader and Qin Huansha's parents. Perhaps Qin Huansha's parents had already passed away or were missing, leaving the sect leader unable to take revenge and instead transferring that hatred onto Qin Huansha and even Old Qin.
"Take me to the orphanage sometime! I want to meet your sect leader!"
"Sure," Lin Yin readily agreed. "By the way, your villa is so big; can I move in with you?"
"What? You want to move in with me?" Jiang Chen doubted he heard correctly. Why was this girl being so forward?
"Yes! There are so many empty rooms in your villa; it's too lonely here. I won't stay for free; I can help you as a housekeeper or assistant!"
"Alright!" Jiang Chen surprisingly agreed because he suddenly realized he needed an assistant; otherwise, he would have to handle everything himself, which was inconvenient. Plus, there was only one housekeeper and two security guards in the villa—it was indeed too lonely!
Another important matter was that he planned on secluding himself for cultivation later on, which often took ten days to half a month at a time. During that period, someone needed to handle his affairs; he couldn't leave it all to the housekeeper!
Lin Yin would be a suitable choice for this role. That way, he could keep his cultivation activities private from everyone else while letting her manage other matters.
Without an assistant, it can be quite troublesome to retreat alone. If you suddenly disappear for half a month, how would the housekeeper think? The security guard would also find it strange, not to mention the people at the company...
Lin Yin was very happy to see Jiang Chen agree. Time is of the essence, and that very afternoon, he moved his things in. Aunt Wu and the security guard were surprised that the two had moved in together so quickly.
Of course, they did not actually live together. Jiang Chen had Lin Yin stay on the second floor while he occupied the third floor. The security guard stayed in the security room. Naturally, the housekeeper did not live in the villa but resided in the bungalow next to it.
