“Lu Lu!” Lin Xuemin's face instantly turned pale. He disregarded everything else and immediately ran toward the cave entrance, anxiously calling out Lin Lu's name.
“Lin Lu!” The surrounding guests also heard Lin Lu's cry and rushed out of the safe house, running toward the cave entrance. Lin Xuemin's figure disappeared into the dark opening, and those around anxiously awaited news.
“Lin Xuemin, don’t be impulsive!” a photographer quickly reminded him, worried that Lin Xuemin might be in danger.
“My sister is still inside! I have to save her!” Lin Xuemin ignored the photographer’s warning, took a deep breath, and jumped into the cave.
“He’s crazy! The entrance is so deep; who knows what’s down there? Quick, go notify the production team!” a staff member said in panic, turning to run back to the safe house.
The cave was deep. As Lin Xuemin slid down, he felt a strong sense of weightlessness. He closed his eyes, and Lin Lu's cry echoed in his mind.
“Lu Lu, are you okay?” Lin Xuemin groped in the darkness, reaching out to find Lin Lu but only touching cold rocks. He anxiously called out her name but received no response.
“Lu Lu!” Lin Xuemin's heart sank as he began to panic, unsure of how Lin Lu was doing or what he should do next.
“Brother?!” Lin Lu's voice came from afar, faint yet clear.
Hearing Lin Lu's voice brought a rush of relief to Lin Xuemin. He followed the sound and soon found her not far away.
“Lu Lu, are you alright?” Lin Xuemin hugged her tightly and carefully checked her body to ensure she wasn’t injured.
“I’m fine; I just twisted my ankle a bit,” Lin Lu groaned slightly as she leaned on Lin Xuemin’s shoulder to stand up.
“How is it? Can you walk?” Lin Xuemin asked with concern.
“I should be okay,” Lin Lu replied, shaking her head. Her ankle was slightly swollen, but she could still manage to stand.
“Let’s get out of here first.” Lin Xuemin supported Lin Lu as they made their way toward the cave entrance.
“Wait!” A voice called from a distance. They turned to see Yan Liming approaching.
“Liming, what are you doing here?” Lin Lu asked in surprise, not expecting Yan Liming to come here.
Yan Liming smiled slightly, his eyes filled with a hint of apology. “I heard Lu Lu’s shout and rushed over. When I saw you both fall into this cave, I came down.”
"Lin Xuemin," he said gratefully to Yan Liming, not expecting Yan Liming to care so much about them, feeling a slight fondness for him in his heart.
"No need to thank me, we're friends," Yan Liming replied with a smile, but his gaze remained fixed on Lin Lu's face, seemingly observing her reaction.
"Liming, come help me!" Lin Lu pointed at the narrow opening beneath her feet and said to Yan Liming, "It's too tight; I can't climb up by myself."
"Okay," Yan Liming nodded. He walked over to Lin Lu, reached out to support her arm, and gently pulled her up.
"Be careful!" Lin Xuemin reminded Yan Liming as he noticed Yan Liming's hand lightly brushing against Lin Lu's arm, feeling a twinge of unease again.
With Yan Liming's help, Lin Lu slowly climbed out of the opening. She turned back to look at Yan Liming and found him gazing at her, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
"Lulu, are you okay?" Chen Xue also arrived at the opening, anxiously asking Lin Lu, though jealousy was evident on her face.
Lin Lu shook her head and smiled, "I'm fine; I just twisted my ankle a bit."
"You scared me! I thought you..." Chen Xue started but was interrupted by Lin Xuemin.
"Alright, Lulu is fine. Let's head back to the safe house," Lin Xuemin said as he supported Lin Lu away from the opening.
Li Xue stood at a distance, silently observing everything. Her eyes were filled with cunning; she already had a plan in mind to take this opportunity to completely defeat Lin Lu!
Yan Liming followed behind Lin Xuemin, quietly watching Lin Lu with concern in his eyes. The production crew immediately focused their cameras on them, eager to capture more exciting moments.
Once back at the safe house, Lin Xuemin carefully applied ice to Lin Lu's ankle while Yan Liming silently handed over towels and hot water. "Brother, I'm really fine; you don't need to worry," Lin Lu softly reassured him, feeling his concern.
"You say you're fine when your ankle is this swollen!" Lin Xuemin looked at Lin Lu's red and swollen ankle with pain in his eyes and a hint of reproach in his tone. "It's all my fault for not taking care of you."
"It has nothing to do with you; I was just careless," Lin Lu shook her head, not wanting her brother to feel guilty.
Yan Liming watched the siblings and handed the hot water to Lin Xuemin. He quietly said, "You help Lin Lu with the ice pack first; I'll go find the production team for some Yunnan Baiyao."
Lin Xuemin took the hot water and glanced gratefully at Yan Liming. "Thank you for that."
Yan Liming nodded and turned to leave the safe house.
Watching Yan Liming depart, Chen Xue remarked sarcastically, "Oh, isn't that our big star Yan Liming? Why the sudden concern for Lin Lu?"
Hearing Chen Xue's words, Lin Lu's expression immediately darkened. She was about to retort but was stopped by Lin Xuemin.
"Chen Xue, don't go too far!" Lin Xuemin glared at Chen Xue, her tone carrying a hint of warning.
"Go too far? I'm just speaking the truth," Chen Xue fearlessly met Lin Xuemin's gaze, a cold smile playing on her lips. "Who doesn't know that it was Lin Lu who dumped Yan Liming back then? Now she comes back pretending to be pitiful and seeking sympathy—it's truly laughable!"
Li Xue chimed in, fanning the flames, "Exactly, Lin Lu. You broke up with Yan Liming, yet you still let him take care of you. Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
"You guys..." Lin Lu trembled with anger but found herself unable to respond.
"Enough!" Lin Xuemin suddenly stood up, shielding Lin Lu behind her and glaring at Chen Xue and Li Xue. "Watch your mouth! If you keep talking nonsense, don't blame me for being rude!"
Chen Xue and Li Xue were taken aback by Lin Xuemin's fierce demeanor and dared not say anything further, reluctantly closing their mouths.
"Xue Min, calm down. Don't stoop to their level," Lin Lu gently tugged at Lin Xuemin's sleeve, softly advising her with a hint of pleading in her eyes.
"Lulu, I..." Lin Xuemin saw the worry in her sister's eyes and suppressed her anger. Taking a deep breath, she said quietly, "I know; I just can't stand their faces."
"Lin Lu, you don't have to worry too much. I'll stand by your side," Yan Liming entered holding Yunnan Baiyao. Seeing the tension between Lin Xuemin and Chen Xue, he quickly tried to mediate. "This matter is just the production team trying to create hype; there's no need to argue with them."
