When Jingxuan woke up in the quiet of the early morning, she felt a unique sense of calm in the dormitory. Groggily, she stretched and felt the beginning of a new day. Picking up her phone, she checked the time and realized it was already half past ten in the morning. There was a lazy atmosphere in the air, as if the whole world had not fully woken up yet.
She slowly got out of bed, and the quiet surroundings told her that Cai Ying and Xiao Ri had already begun the busyness of the new semester. Turning to the other bed, she found Ruoxi still deep in sleep. Ruoxi's sleeping posture was carefree, just like her usual personality, which made Jingxuan smile.
Jingxuan gently got out of bed, picked up her toothbrush and toiletries, and quietly walked toward the communal bathroom. The sound of water in the morning was crisp and pleasant, washing away the fatigue of the night. She mentally planned her schedule for the day: a Literature Introduction class at one o'clock and a Community Observation class at three. Both classes filled her with anticipation.
Especially the Community Observation class, which the teacher mentioned in an email sent before the semester began would include a field trip to Cuigu Town on the first day. This learning method was both novel and exciting for Jingxuan, and she was filled with curiosity and enthusiasm for the upcoming field investigation.
After finishing her morning routine, Jingxuan returned to the dormitory and began organizing her belongings. She carefully flipped through her books, confirming the notebooks and stationery she needed to bring. She was careful not to disturb Ruoxi, who was still sound asleep, and started preparing her breakfast.
In the kitchen, Jingxuan made a simple breakfast - a cup of warm milk and two slices of toast. She enjoyed her breakfast in peace, her thoughts drifting to the upcoming new semester. She felt both excited and eager for the knowledge she would receive and the new challenges she would face.
Jingxuan finished breakfast and checked the time, realizing it was already half past eleven. She turned to look at Ruoxi still sound asleep, and decided to wake her up to ensure she didn't miss the first day of the new semester. Jingxuan walked gently to Ruoxi's bedside, nudged her lightly, and softly said, " Ruoxi, it's time to get up. Don't waste the first day of the new semester."
Ruoxi responded drowsily from her dreams, "I want to sleep a little longer..." Her voice was lazy, as if still immersed in the world of dreams.
Jingxuan insisted, "It's almost midnight, are you still sleeping?" Her voice carried concern and determination.
Upon hearing this, Ruoxi finally opened her eyes and asked in surprise, "Is it almost midnight?" A hint of alertness showed in her eyes.
Jingxuan nodded and gently suggested, "Why don't you get up soon? Do you want me to make some toast for you to eat?" Her voice was full of concern.
Upon hearing Jingxuan's suggestion, Ruoxi's face showed a sincere smile, and she gratefully said, "Really? I love you so much, Jingxuan baby!" After that, she suddenly got up from the bed and excitedly hugged Jingxuan.
Jingxuan was taken aback by the sudden embrace from Ruoxi, but she also showed a warm smile on her face. She gently patted Ruoxi's back, feeling the warmth and friendship in her heart.
As Ruoxi lay comfortably on Jingxuan, Jingxuan felt Ruoxi's warmth and closeness. Ruoxi said contentedly, "Ah! Your body is so warm, let me lie here a little longer!" Ruoxi's voice was full of coquetry and dependence, her eyes half-closed, and a satisfied smile on her lips. She seemed to greatly enjoy this lazy moment, revealing her cherished intimacy with her roommate.
Jingxuan responded to Ruoxi's coquetry with a smile. She gently patted Ruoxi's back, giving her warmth and comfort. Then, she gently pushed Ruoxi away and urged her with a caring tone, "Alright, go brush your teeth and wash your face quickly. When you come back, it will be time to eat the toast." Jingxuan's words revealed her concern for Ruoxi, as well as a hint of relaxation and humor.
After hearing Jingxuan's words, Ruoxi pretended to be hurt and dramatically said, " Jingxuan actually pushed me away, I'm crying!" Her voice was full of jokes and exaggeration, adding joy and vitality to the dormitory on this early morning.
Then, Ruoxi picked up her cup and toothbrush with a hint of helplessness and a cute expression, and made a pitiful look as she left the dormitory for the public bathroom. Watching Ruoxi leave, Jingxuan couldn't help but smile, feeling full of love and gratitude for her roommate. Ruoxi's innocence and sense of humor always easily tug at Jingxuan's heartstrings.
Jingxuan turned back to continue preparing breakfast, putting bread slices into the toaster. Before long, the aroma of toasted bread began to fill the dorm, bringing a warm and cozy feeling. On such a morning, Jingxuan felt the beauty of dorm life - a sense of leisure, ease, and deep friendship with roommates.
Jingxuan carefully took out the perfectly toasted bread from the simple oven, filling the air with its fragrance. She also prepared a glass of milk for Ruoxi and placed them on the table, waiting for Ruoxi to return. This simple and warm breakfast filled the dorm with a sense of home, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout.
When Ruoxi returned from the bathroom, she saw the prepared breakfast on the table and couldn't help but show a surprised expression on her face. She quickly walked over and warmly embraced Jingxuan, gratefully saying, "Thank you, Jingxuan! Dinner is on me!" Her voice was filled with joy and gratitude.
Jingxuan smiled gently and responded, "You're welcome, hurry and eat. Get ready, we'll be going to class soon." Her tone was warm and caring. Then she reminded Ruoxi, "Don't forget we have a liberal arts class in town this afternoon."
Upon hearing this reminder, Ruoxi couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh, really? I still need to put on makeup!" Her tone carried a sense of urgency and excitement. It seems that Ruoxi is also looking forward to the upcoming field trip.
Two people were having breakfast while chatting happily, planning their day. Jingxuan and Ruoxi's morning was filled with a warm atmosphere and anticipation for the new semester and new challenges. As breakfast ended, they began to prepare their bags, ready to embrace the upcoming day, and stepped out of the dormitory door full of anticipation.
