I know my brother all too well. He would never care about me without a reason; he definitely has another motive. So, I asked him directly, "Brother, just say what you want to say." 0

He chuckled awkwardly and said, "Ning Ning, it's like this. I think it's better for girls to get married early. You should find a good man to marry, have a child, and take care of the family instead of working outside, right?" 0

I frowned and replied, "Brother, what era are we in? How can you still have such outdated thoughts?" 0

He insisted, "This isn't outdated thinking; it's the truth. I'm doing this for your own good. Working outside is tough for girls, and they don't earn much money. It's better to marry a good man and live without worries for the rest of your life." 0

I countered, "Whose food will I eat? Brother, your thinking is really too backward." 0

He became a bit impatient and said, "Ning Ning, why don't you listen to my advice? Look at your sister-in-law; she couldn't find a good job because she lacks education, so she married me. She's so happy!" 0

I chuckled and replied, "Brother, if your sister-in-law hears this, she might cause a scene." 0

He paused in confusion and asked, "Why would she cause a scene?" 0

I explained, "Think about it: your sister-in-law has no education or skills and could only marry you; of course she's happy. But I'm different. I have education and qualifications with a bright future ahead of me. Why would I give up my job to return to the family?" 0

My brother was momentarily speechless: "Well..." 0

I continued, "Besides, if all girls stayed home to take care of the family, what would the country need us for?" 0

He fell silent. I knew he couldn't argue with me anymore and didn't want to waste his breath. So he straightforwardly said, "Ning Ning, actually I want you to get married for your own good. Once you're married and have kids, you won't be running around everywhere worrying Mom and Dad." 0

I frowned again and asked, "What do you mean by that?" 0

He replied, "It doesn't mean anything; I just hope you can come home and stop staying out." 0

I laughed and said, "So after all this talk, you just want me to come home, right?" 0

He admitted, "Yes, hurry back home; don't stay out any longer." 0

I smirked sarcastically and asked, "Why should I go back?" 0

He said, "Ning Ning, stop messing around. Just listen to me this once; come home obediently. I've found a good match for you." 0

I questioned him back, "What good match?" 0

My brother replied, "The other party is willing to offer a dowry of three hundred thousand, as long as you agree to marry him. After that, you'll be living a life of comfort." 0
I chuckled, "Brother, are you selling me off?" 0
He said, "How can you call it selling? I'm doing this for your own good. The other family is well-off; once you marry into them, you won't have to work as hard as you do now." 0
I laughed, "Brother, is the other party really that great? Then why haven't they gotten married yet? Why are you pushing me to marry him?" 0
My brother was at a loss for words: "Well..." 0
I continued, "Because you know he's a bad person. Your daughter is only two years younger than me; you wouldn't want your precious daughter to marry him, so you're trying to push me into it, right?" 0
My brother became angry and embarrassed: "Ning Ning, how can you say that? I'm doing this all for your benefit!" 0
I sneered, "For my benefit? Brother, do you really think I'm that naive? The other party has been in prison and has a history of violence. Even if he doesn't hit anyone now, how can I trust my life to such a man?" 0
My brother was taken aback: "How... how do you know?" 0
I mocked him, "If you can find out, why can't I?" 0
After a moment of silence, my brother said, "Ning Ning, please don't let outside factors influence you. Yes, he has been in prison, but he has turned over a new leaf. He is now sensible and obedient. Once you marry him, you'll definitely have a good life." 0
