"Lin Feng, what are you doing here?" Ouyang Qian exclaimed in surprise upon seeing Lin Feng.
"I saw you rushing and came to check. Let's not talk; we should take Aunt Qian to the hospital first," Lin Feng said briefly about the situation before addressing Ouyang Qian.
"Right, Xiaoqian, this young man is much stronger than us women. Hurry up and take your mom to the hospital," Wan Da Ma chimed in, realizing that Lin Feng's timely arrival was like a timely help in a snowstorm.
"Okay, then I’ll trouble you," Ouyang Qian said, feeling a bit embarrassed. Just moments ago, she had criticized Lin Feng, and now she needed his help.
Lin Feng noticed Ouyang Qian's slight embarrassment but chose not to comment further. He bent down to prepare to carry Aunt Qian.
Seeing Lin Feng getting ready to carry her mom, Ouyang Qian quickly helped him lift Aunt Qian onto his back.
Lin Feng cooperated with Ouyang Qian, securing Aunt Qian firmly on his back.
While carrying her, Lin Feng also held Aunt Qian's hand, allowing Tesla to diagnose her condition.
"There's nothing to worry about... it's just fatigue combined with excessive worry; she's simply weak," Tesla said impressively, diagnosing her even before Lin Feng reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Can I perform acupuncture on the patient in the car? Maybe we won't even need to go to the hospital," Lin Feng suggested after hearing Tesla's diagnosis. If they could avoid going to the hospital, he thought it would be better not to bother with it since visiting a hospital can be quite troublesome regardless of the issue.
In the past, Lin Feng might have thought that going to the hospital was necessary when someone fell ill, especially in cases of sudden fainting. However, now that he had Tesla as his spirit companion, he believed it was best to avoid the hospital if possible. After all, even if they went to the hospital, the doctor's skills would not compare to Tesla's. So why spend money and endure that hassle?
Perhaps this was a sign of broadening one's horizons and changing perspectives.
"Acupuncture is indeed miraculous, but it's not magic. Its principle involves stimulating acupoints with silver needles to unleash a person's potential. However, in this case, the activation of potential is temporary and instantaneous. This means that acupuncture under such circumstances does have some cost to the body," Tesla explained without directly answering Lin Feng's question. He realized that although he had taught Lin Feng acupuncture techniques, he hadn't explained its principles thoroughly.
"Cost? What kind of cost?" Lin Feng asked.
"This really depends on the person; most people expend energy. Right now, what the patient lacks the most is energy," Tesla continued to explain.
Lin Feng finally understood that acupuncture also aligns with the law of conservation of energy. Normally, acupuncture requires energy, but if someone constantly thinks about getting needles inserted when there's nothing wrong, that's foolish behavior because acupuncture does consume energy.
"Should we take her to the hospital?" Lin Feng asked.
"Yes, just give her some IV fluids, provide her with some nutrients, and then let her have a good sleep. That is the best treatment. Remember, a healer has the heart of a parent; you need to understand what is the best treatment for the patient," Tesla instructed, and then he educated Lin Feng further.
Lin Feng knew that Tesla was very principled on such matters, and besides, Tesla's words made a lot of sense, so he could only humbly accept the advice.
"Lin Feng, wait here with my mom while I go call a car. Is that okay?" After finishing his conversation with Tesla, Lin Feng had already carried Aunt Qian downstairs. Ouyang Qian was quite grateful for Lin Feng's timely appearance and asked him.
"No need to call a car; I have one. That car over there is mine," Lin Feng said. At this moment, he had no mood to wait for a taxi. Besides, the Liu Family had just given him a car; it made no sense to call for a taxi when he had one available.
"You have a car? That Audi?" Ouyang Qian was surprised that Lin Feng owned a car. Following his direction, she saw a brand new Audi parked there and asked in astonishment.
Lin Feng knew that saying more was unnecessary. He walked over, took out his car keys from his pocket, and pressed the remote control.
Seeing Lin Feng's actions, Ouyang Qian realized that this car indeed belonged to him. Although she still had doubts in her mind, she could only obediently walk over and open the back door for Lin Feng so that her mom could get in.
Once everything was settled, Lin Feng returned to the driver's seat while Ouyang Qian sat in the back to take care of her mom.
Starting the Audi, Lin Feng drove towards the hospital.
"Lin Feng, don't drive too fast; my mom..." Ouyang Qian cautioned him, worried that this young man might drive too quickly.
"Hehe... I know; don't worry," Lin Feng reassured Ouyang Qian. He understood her concerns and knew that Aunt Qian's condition wasn't an emergency.
On the way, Lin Feng drove steadily, and Ouyang Qian didn't even hold onto the car door by the end of the ride, feeling no bumps at all.
The reason for this was twofold: first, Lin Feng was skilled at driving, and second, the road was indeed smooth. Otherwise, no matter how good Lin Feng's skills were, he couldn't guarantee such a fast and stable ride.
They soon arrived at the hospital. Lin Feng quickly got out of the car to help Ouyang Qian carry Aunt Qian inside while Ouyang Qian locked the car door.
Familiar with the process, Lin Feng registered Aunt Qian and took her into the emergency room.
Next came the waiting.
From carrying his mother down the stairs to bringing her into the emergency room, Ouyang Qian observed everything. By the end, she felt that Lin Feng seemed like a more mature boyfriend who was a few years older than her, handling everything without needing her to worry.
Don't get it wrong; this was just how Ouyang Qian felt at that moment. It didn't mean she saw Lin Feng as her boyfriend; she was simply surprised and touched by his unintentional display of maturity and thoughtfulness.
After all, in her eyes, Lin Feng was just an excellent English student who often skipped classes for unknown reasons. She never expected him to handle such an unexpected situation with such composure.
With this feeling, Ouyang Qian sensed that her relationship with Lin Feng had grown closer.
"Hehe... Ouyang Teacher, you don't need to worry. When I was carrying Auntie just now, I checked her pulse. She’s fine; she's just a bit fatigued and stressed. The doctor will give her some IV fluids and let her sleep for a bit," Lin Feng said as he sat next to Ouyang Qian on a bench in the emergency room corridor. Seeing her worried gaze fixed on the emergency room door, he reassured her. Of course, what Lin Feng said was also true.
"You... um, thank you." Now that they had finally brought her mother to the hospital, Ouyang Qian felt more at ease and noticed that Lin Feng always referred to her mother as "Auntie," which seemed like a term only a boyfriend would use. Blushing at this thought, she considered correcting him but decided against it since he might have done it unintentionally. Besides, Lin Feng had indeed helped her a lot tonight.
"Hehe... I'm not just comforting you; honestly, I know a bit about medicine. If I say Auntie is fine, then she is," Lin Feng continued, unaware of Ouyang Qian's internal struggle about his choice of words regarding her mother. He was also speaking the truth.
"You know medicine?" Ouyang Qian naturally found it hard to believe that Lin Feng knew anything about medicine and could check pulses while carrying her mother. She instinctively asked.
"Hehe... just a little," Lin Feng replied.
"Well, I think so too." Although Ouyang Qian still didn't believe that Lin Feng understood any medical skills at this moment, she knew that even if Lin Feng was lying to comfort her, it was still kind of him. She just didn't know whether his "thinking so" referred to Lin Feng's medical skills being good or to what he said about her mom not having any serious illness.
Before long, the emergency room door opened, which was expected by Lin Feng. Although regular doctors were not as impressive as Tesla, they could still arrive at the same diagnosis after careful examination, which was quite normal.
"Who is the patient's family member?" a female doctor in a white coat asked while removing her mask, calling out to Lin Feng and Ouyang Qian.
"I am. The patient is my mom," Ouyang Qian quickly responded, looking nervously at the female doctor, waiting for her next words.
"Don't worry. The patient just overworked herself and is a bit malnourished; she fainted. A little nutritional IV and some rest will do her good," the doctor said calmly after noticing Ouyang Qian's genuine concern. After saying a few words, she prepared to leave. Patients like Aunt Qian were common for her; she dealt with one or two every day, and these minor issues were nothing to raise her concern. She had other matters to attend to.
"Oh, thank you, Doctor. I'll go get the hospitalization paperwork," Ouyang Qian said, relieved that her mom was okay. The worry on her face finally eased significantly.
"Ouyang Teacher, you stay with your aunt. I'll handle the hospitalization procedures and come find you afterward," Lin Feng said, knowing that Ouyang Qian only wanted to be with her mom at that moment.
"How can I let you do that? You've already been a great help tonight. I can take care of it from here; you should go rest," Ouyang Qian said, feeling embarrassed to let Lin Feng continue dealing with these trivial matters. Although she subconsciously felt an urge for Lin Feng to stay with her, she knew that wasn't appropriate.
"It's no trouble at all. Nurse, could you please show me the way? I'm going to take care of the patient's hospitalization procedures," Lin Feng smiled at Ouyang Qian and waved his hand to indicate it was no bother before following the nurse to handle the hospitalization paperwork.
Seeing Lin Feng insist on this, Ouyang Qian no longer opposed it and pushed her mom's bed into the ward with a nurse.
