After chatting with Lin Feng for a bit, Yuling realized that he was not someone who couldn't take a joke. Being naturally cheerful herself, she began to joke around with him.
"Ha ha... That depends on your work performance. I'm often not in the store; Uncle Chen has more say in that regard." Seeing Yuling joke with him made Lin Feng smile as well; he had a good impression of her.
"Ha ha... I'll do my best." When Yuling heard this from Lin Feng, she thought he didn't want to answer such questions. After pondering for a moment, she seriously stated her determination.
Noticing Yuling's expression, Lin Feng understood that she had misunderstood him. However, at that moment, he felt it wasn't appropriate to clarify; saying too much could lead to more misunderstandings.
Just as Lin Feng was unsure of what to say next, Uncle Chen came out and relieved his awkwardness.
"Ha ha... Lin Feng, you haven't eaten yet, right? Since you didn't let me pick you up at the airport, I should at least treat you to a meal! Hearing Chen Sheng's words, Lin Feng stood up and replied. His principle was always to trust those he employed without suspicion; thus there was no need for him to listen to any "report" from Chen Sheng.
"Alright then, shall we go? Xiaoyu, why don't you join us for a meal? There aren't many customers in the store right now anyway." Chen Sheng said while looking at Xiaoyu casually.
"You two go ahead; I'll stay here and watch the store. Who knows if someone might come in? You guys enjoy yourselves." Yuling declined Chen Sheng's invitation. She knew she was just an employee and that Uncle Chen's invitation was more of a casual suggestion; she certainly wouldn't follow them.
"That's fine, Lin Feng, let's go," Chen Sheng said. His invitation had been casual, and although having Yuling tag along didn't seem like a big deal, it still felt a bit unusual; after all, two men drinking together was generally more enjoyable. Hearing Yuling's polite refusal, he decided not to press the matter further and led Lin Feng out the door.
Lin Feng had just experienced some awkwardness with Yuling, so when she expressed her desire not to join them, he readily accepted it and followed Chen Sheng.
Chen Sheng had been in City A for a while now, so he was naturally more familiar with the area than Lin Feng. At that moment, he was driving Lin Feng to a place suitable for drinking and reminiscing.
"How do you feel about the situation at the store?" Chen Sheng asked while driving.
"Well, I trust Uncle Chen," Lin Feng replied. He didn't say much else, but his words carried weight, making Chen Sheng feel like he had found a wise ally.
"With your endorsement, you can rest assured. Uncle Chen may not have many skills, but managing this store is definitely one of them," Chen Sheng confidently assured Lin Feng.
Lin Feng found Chen Sheng's words reasonable. After all, Chen Sheng had been in the jade industry for over twenty years. Previously he hadn't had the opportunity, but now with Lin Feng's support and his own experience, managing the Jade Store should be well within his capabilities.
"Alright, enough about that. I'm really hungry, Uncle Chen. Let's find a place to eat and drink," Lin Feng suggested, wanting to shift the topic away from business.
"Sure thing! I'll take you there right away; just wait and see, you'll be satisfied," Chen Sheng replied as he focused on driving.
Chen Sheng chose a moderately sized restaurant and requested a private room. He mentioned that everything here was delicious, so Lin Feng followed him without hesitation.
Once they started eating, Lin Feng couldn't help but praise the food and raised his glass to toast with Chen Sheng.
"Uncle Chen, this place isn't small at all. Why don't you hire a few more staff? There's only Yuling here," Lin Feng voiced his curiosity during the meal.
"Haha... are you talking about Xiaoyu? She's quite capable. I did consider hiring more staff, but since this store just opened and our Jade Store is different from regular shops—most customers know what they're doing—there's no need for too many employees. Besides, don't underestimate Xiaoyu; while she may be working as a shopkeeper now, she graduated with a degree in archaeology from a prestigious university and specializes in jade. In terms of experience, she might not match mine, but her understanding of jade could very well surpass mine," Chen Sheng explained to Lin Feng in response to his question while also sharing some details about Yuling's background.
"Oh, then why is she still working as a clerk?" Lin Feng asked. It seemed a bit of a waste for Yuling to be a clerk, considering her talents.
"She requested it herself. You don't know, she not only majored in archaeology at university but also minored in marketing. She's quite sharp," Chen Sheng said, praising her further. It was clear that Yuling was someone Chen Sheng was quite pleased with.
"Oh, then she's really talented. Her personality is good too; it's nice that she can help Uncle Chen," Lin Feng thought he now had a comprehensive understanding of Yuling. After chatting with her for so long, he hadn't heard her mention any of this that Chen Sheng had just said.
"Exactly! My intention is to nurture a talent, but she also needs to put in the effort," Chen Sheng raised his glass and took another drink.
"Hehe... I'm also young. If she's willing to work hard, nurturing her wouldn't be a problem," Lin Feng agreed with Chen Sheng's words.
"By the way, has Xiner been bothering you these days? Last time I troubled you to send her back to City B. She's never been easy on me since she was little," Chen Sheng suddenly remembered his daughter, Chen Xinni. As a father, he knew about Chen Xinni's feelings for Lin Feng, but he also understood that this kind of thing wasn't something he could meddle in as a big master; for now, he could only pretend to ask casually.
"Oh, I haven't seen her for several days either. Has Uncle Chen not talked to her on the phone? There are always things to do here. Once I handle everything, I'll go back to City B for a visit. If my business keeps you two from meeting, I'd feel guilty," Lin Feng replied honestly. The reason he hadn't seen Chen Xinni was that he instinctively avoided contact with her. In the end, Lin Feng even made a joke.
"Hehe... Just kidding! The distance between A City and City B isn't that far. She knows how to come to A City herself, and it's easy for me to return to City B as well. Why make it sound so serious?" Chen Sheng knew Lin Feng was joking.

Uncle Chen knows I've been around the Jade Industry for some time; could you tell me what kind of person Liu Lao really is?" Lin Feng recalled that his trip to A City was specifically for the jade exhibition hosted by Liu Lao and asked Chen Sheng.
"To discuss this question, we have to start with the Liu Family. The Liu Family has built their fortune on jade trading; I'm not sure about their exact wealth, but it must be considerable. Their influence is significant as well; not only in A City but also in the south, they can be considered a big family. In A City, the Liu Family is essentially the leader of the Jade Industry," Chen Sheng began explaining from the beginning when Lin Feng brought up this topic.

Next, Chen Sheng and Lin Feng chatted back and forth, mostly discussing interesting stories and experiences from the Jade Industry. When Lin Feng managed to get Chen Sheng into the passenger seat, he realized that he didn't actually know where Chen Sheng lived in City A.

After thinking for a while, Lin Feng could only pick up Chen Sheng's phone, look for Yuling's number, and dial it.
The only person Lin Feng knew in City A was Chen Sheng. If there was anyone else, it would be Yuling. Since Yuling worked at the store, she should know Chen Sheng's address.
"Hello... is this Yuling?" Lin Feng asked when the call connected.
"Yes, is this Lin Feng?" Yuling recognized Lin Feng's voice immediately.
"Uh... it's me. Uncle Chen is drunk, and I want to take him home, but I don't know where he lives in City A," Lin Feng explained.
"Where are you? I was just about to close the shop; I'll come over," Yuling replied after understanding the situation.
"Oh, we're at Guayuan Restaurant. I'll wait for you in the parking lot; just call this number when you arrive," Lin Feng said. He wasn't very familiar with City A and was relieved that Yuling was coming. At that moment, he realized that the restaurant where he and Chen Sheng had eaten was called "Guayuan Hotel."
