Immediately after saying this, Lin Mei left.
Lin Feng, feeling helpless, had no choice but to follow her.
Since they were going out, Lin Mei naturally headed to the garage first, with Lin Feng trailing behind at a leisurely pace.
"I say, Young Master Song, shouldn't you open the car door for me?" Lin Mei couldn't hold back any longer. Although she was aware of Lin Feng's identity, they hadn't formally acknowledged it yet. Was he really acting so high and mighty already?
In fact, Lin Mei had been contemplating all day the series of impacts brought about by Lin Feng becoming the Young Master of the Lin Family. Seeing Lin Feng's nonchalant demeanor led her to form a preconceived notion. At this moment, she forgot that Lin Feng had never opened the car door for her, the Lin President, in the past.
However, since Lin Mei had said that, while Lin Feng wouldn't rush over to open the door for her, he did quicken his pace and directly sat in the driver's seat.
Lin Feng had the car keys, and so did Lin Mei. Just moments ago, as she walked ahead and teased Lin Feng, she had already used her own key to unlock the car door.
In the end, it was still Lin Mei who opened the car door for Lin Feng. Watching him smoothly slide into the driver's seat made her feel more like an assistant than anything else.
However, thinking about how Lin Feng was soon to become her husband—though she was extremely reluctant to think of that term—she still had to face reality.
"Lin Dong, where are we going?" After starting the car, Lin Feng glanced at Lin Mei through the rearview mirror and asked.
Although Mr. Lin had already told him not to call Lin Mei "Lin Dong" during breakfast that morning, Lin Feng knew her personality well enough not to deliberately change his original way of addressing her.
"Let's head to the suburbs first; I'll guide you to a place," Lin Mei thought for a moment and replied.
"Alright." Lin Feng was quite excited to learn that they were not going to meet any clients, and he cheerfully called out before starting the engine.
The Golden Dragon Group was located in the city center, so by the time Lin Feng drove to the outskirts, it was already evening. Although he had been driving for a while, Lin Feng didn't feel uncomfortable at all; his body was in great shape, so how could he possibly feel bad?
Moreover, Lin Feng knew that even if he did feel uncomfortable, there was nothing he could do about it. Should he ask Lin Mei, his employer, to drive? Well, Lin Feng admitted that he had a bit of a thick skin, but he couldn't bring himself to do something like that.
Since Lin Feng was driving himself, he naturally understood that long periods of driving could be quite tiring. Even though driving is done while sitting, it requires intense concentration. Therefore, Lin Feng always believed that someone like Lin Mei—a woman—was not suited for long drives.
"If you get tired, just pull over and take a break; we’re not in a hurry." Although Lin Feng appeared relaxed, Lin Mei knew how mentally exhausting it could be to sit and drive for extended periods. She spoke from the back seat.
"Hehe... no need for that; just guide me," Lin Feng replied with a faint smile upon hearing her words.
"Alright then, I won’t insist. Just so you know, we’re almost there. Keep going straight on this road for about twenty minutes, and I'll let you know when we arrive," Lin Mei said. Seeing that Lin Feng wasn't stubbornly pushing through, she decided not to say anything more since they didn't have much longer to drive.
"Okay." Upon hearing this, Lin Feng felt a bit relieved. Although his Mental Power was quite strong, he found it rather boring to do this for an extended period. There was simply nothing novel about driving this kind of car for him.
Finally, they arrived at the place Lin Mei mentioned. Lin Feng dropped her off and then went to find a parking spot.
After parking the car, Lin Feng approached Lin Mei and was surprised that she had brought him to such a resort.
"I’ve come here a few times with friends; it’s quite nice," Lin Mei explained as she noticed the curiosity in Lin Feng's eyes.
"Oh, it does look pretty good. The environment is beautiful and seems relatively safe," Lin Feng said after looking around at the surroundings following Lin Mei's explanation.
Of course, Lin Feng is right; the security environment here is quite good.
"Hehe... you seem quite professional," Lin Mei chuckled. Although today was mainly about bringing Lin Feng here to have a chat and gauge his thoughts, she still had a good impression of someone who takes their work seriously.
Lin Feng's current job is to ensure Lin Mei's safety.
This is something Lin Feng has not forgotten, and Lin Mei naturally knows it as well.
"Let's go inside and sit down." It was already evening, and dinner time had arrived. Lin Feng hadn't eaten lunch, so he must be hungry now.
"Who else will be there?" Lin Feng asked, feeling his hunger but still inquiring about the situation with Lin Mei.
"What's wrong? Are you afraid of meeting new people?" Lin Mei teased when she saw Lin Feng rubbing his stomach and cautiously asking her this question.
"Hehe... I'm mainly worried that my handsome eating style will leave everyone in awe beneath my jeans," Lin Feng hesitated for a moment before saying.
"This guy is such a jokester." Lin Mei realized that Lin Feng was just teasing her. She rolled her eyes at him and then walked in first.
Normally, Lin Mei would never roll her eyes at Lin Feng, but ever since she learned about his identity, she has been trying to interact with him in a different way. After all, their relationship in the future will be... husband and wife...
Lin Feng didn't think much of this small change in Lin Mei. He smiled and followed her inside.
Right now, he was too busy dealing with his hunger to pay attention to the slight shift in Lin Mei's attitude towards him.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Lin Feng immediately said, "I'll have one of each of your signature dishes."
The waiter clearly recognized Lin Mei and was taken aback by his order. Normally, those invited here by Lin Mei wouldn't be such extravagant customers, so he looked to Lin Mei for guidance.
"Well, let's go with his suggestion. I'll pick one from the selection later," Lin Mei said, glancing at the waitress who was looking at her.
"Sure, please wait a moment." Lin Feng's commanding order saved the waiter from taking notes and he simply left.
With one of each dish ordered, how could she possibly forget such a unique menu?
"Aren't you worried you won't be able to finish?" Once the waiter left, Lin Mei asked Lin Feng.
"Heh... it's a small matter. Don't you know there's a way to take leftovers?" Lin Feng replied nonchalantly.
Lin Mei thought Lin Feng was just hungry, but it turned out he was retaliating for not letting him eat Chinese cuisine.
The dishes started coming out one by one. Fortunately, since Lin Feng only ordered the specialty dishes, even though six extravagant dishes were served, it wasn't too overwhelming.
"Here, Lin Dong, try this. It looks good," as soon as the dishes arrived, Lin Feng quickly picked up a piece and stuffed it into his mouth. After seeming to enjoy the flavor, he turned his chopsticks and served the same dish to Lin Mei, urging her to try it.
Um, has he taken it upon himself to act like the host and serve others?
Most importantly, he just used those chopsticks—doesn't he know about using serving chopsticks?
Lin Mei also realized this point. Although she felt a bit resistant inside, when she thought of Lin Feng's true identity, she said nothing.
She considered it a form of adaptation, after all, this guy would inevitably take advantage in the future. Lin Mei thought to herself as she ate the food that Lin Feng had picked up for her.
Indeed, if Lin Mei were to become Lin Feng's wife in the future, not only would he use his own chopsticks to serve her food, but even sharing a kiss would lead to some "saliva battle," wouldn't it?
Next, Lin Feng, with a mindset of tasting the food, took a bite himself and then picked up a piece for Lin Mei. He was quite enthusiastic about it, even though he might not have money in his pocket to treat her.
Especially since every time he picked up food, he would add, "I've tried this dish; it's good."
I don't know if it's good? I've been here several times already. Lin Mei gradually adapted; although there was still a little knot in her heart, it didn't stop her from eating the food that Lin Feng picked for her.
In fact, later on, Lin Mei was also influenced by Lin Feng and picked up a few pieces of food for him with her own chopsticks.
By the end of the meal, it could be said that both host and guest were enjoying themselves. Then Lin Feng suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, I just forgot to use serving chopsticks, Lin Dong."
"Uh, it's okay." Lin Mei was almost in tears; she thought Lin Feng was doing it intentionally. She didn't expect that he was just too hungry and habitually overlooked it. However, she felt it was best not to say anything.
After dinner, it was time to watch the sunset. There was a small hill in the resort that was perfect for viewing the sunset, so Lin Mei suggested, "Lin Feng, shall we go watch the sunset?"
"Well, it's just one sun; we see it every day. What's so special about it?" Lin Feng bluntly stated without considering the occasion.
Upon hearing this, Lin Mei ignored him and walked directly toward the small hill. Although Lin Feng felt helpless, he still followed her.
Finally, Lin Mei figured it out. When dealing with Lin Feng, there was no need to be overly polite; he was a master at breaking the atmosphere. It was better to act first and explain later, and he would still have to follow along.
Well, since they were here, Lin Feng also sat down on the smooth large bluestone where Lin Mei was.
"Lin Feng, look at how beautiful the sunset is," Lin Mei said with a sigh as she noticed Lin Feng sitting down in a considerate manner.
"Yeah, it's quite beautiful, but it's getting close to dusk," Lin Feng replied, once again ruining the mood.
"Are you really that annoyed with me, Lin Feng? Do you want to upset me?" Lin Mei said helplessly. This guy, if he didn't speak, no one would think he was mute.
She completely forgot that when she expressed her feelings earlier, she had specifically addressed Lin Feng, which clearly indicated she was talking to him.
"No," Lin Feng answered honestly at that moment. Although Lin Mei wasn't particularly warm most of the time, he understood that she treated him well. Just for allowing him to enjoy an independent private room for Chinese cuisine like she did, he thought she was pretty good.
"By the way, what do you think about the term 'father'?" Lin Mei started discussing what she wanted to talk about today.
"Haha, what about you?" Lin Feng was clearly taken aback by Lin Mei's question but quickly adjusted his emotions and asked in return.
"Haha... I'm an orphan; I don't know what my parents looked like," Lin Mei said with a faint smile of despair after hearing his response.
