The entrance to the Beast Wasteland is located in Beast Reject City, which is where Xu Feng rose to prominence and faced misfortune, over five thousand miles away from the New Moon Sect. 0

Upon arriving at the foot of the mountain, the members of the New Moon Sect regrouped and were divided into five teams based on their strengths, with ten people in each group. Xu Feng's group consisted entirely of unfamiliar faces: four from Cold Moon Hall at Refining Qi Level Ten, one from Flying Star Hall at Refining Qi Level Six, and three Foundation Period Disciples from Rage War Hall. The specific levels could not be discerned by Xu Feng's current strength. There was also one Foundation Establishment Stage disciple from Qianlong Hall, and finally, Xu Feng himself, a Qi Refining Third Layer disciple, who felt out of place like someone merely following powerful figures to pick up treasures without engaging in battles. 0

The ten individuals introduced themselves and nodded in greeting, marking their acquaintance. 0

The Seventh Elder and two disciples from Mistaken Sword Hall were not assigned to any team and formed an independent group. 0

After reorganizing the teams, the Seventh Elder let out a long howl into the air. The sound was rich and resonant, not loud but carrying far. Soon, six black shadows descended from the mountain; upon closer inspection, they turned out to be six Golden-Backed Rocs. 0

One Dapeng landed on the ground, standing over ten meters tall with a wingspan of thirty meters. Its ancient Dou-colored eyes were larger than water buckets, and its massive curved beak resembled a super-sized sickle. As it landed, its steel-like claws sank a third of the way into the earth. 0

When Wan Jian Sect pursued Xu Feng and the others, they also used flying mounts; however, Wan Jian Sect utilized eagles that were far smaller than these six Dapengs—like a child following an adult. While Wan Jian Sect had one eagle carrying three people, this Dapeng could easily carry over ten. 0

"This is a fourth-level spirit beast raised by our sect. Older disciples may have seen them before. We will ride one Dapeng together; there are specially designed hand ropes on its back for everyone to hold onto," the Seventh Elder gestured as the six Dapengs obediently lowered their bodies, revealing nearly four meters of back with several thumb-thick ropes stretched across for support. 0

Older disciples who had occasionally seen these Dapengs were still amazed to see them up close now. 0

Spirit beasts are classified into ten levels; a fourth-level spirit beast is equivalent to a Refining Qi Level Ten cultivator. Spirit beasts and demon beasts are essentially the same; cultivators simply refer to tamed demon beasts as spirit beasts. 0

Spirit beasts have various uses; powerful spirit beasts can deal significant damage in battle. There are even sects dedicated solely to breeding spirit beasts, although such sects are rarely found in Liuxiang Kingdom. Raising a high-level spirit beast requires immense resources that most sects cannot afford; groups like Qinghua Gang can only afford to raise second-level White Eagles. 0

The five groups of disciples excitedly climbed onto the backs of the Dapengs. With a shout from the Seventh Elder, the six Dapengs soared into the sky and quickly flew ten miles away. 0

The Seventh Elder shared a Dapeng with two beautiful disciples from Mistaken Sword Hall while other disciples looked on from afar with drooling mouths and wide eyes but dared not let the Seventh Elder notice. 0

With the wind rushing past their ears, the Dapeng flew at an altitude of about one thousand meters, with various landscapes rapidly receding beneath them. The broad and flat back of the Dapeng comfortably accommodated ten people without feeling crowded. The flight was smooth like being on a passenger plane; when the wind blew, it felt like riding in a fighter jet—truly a fighter jet among passenger planes... 0

As they flew swiftly through midday skies, a vast forest appeared ahead. The familiar geography of Beast Reject City came into Xu Feng's view. After flying for several more minutes, they had entered fifty miles into Beast Wasteland on the back of the Dapeng. 0

Finally, the Seventh Elder guided his Dapeng down to a clearing where the other five Dapengs followed suit. 0

"This area is still on the outskirts of Beast Wasteland but is relatively deeper," said the Seventh Elder as he pointed at the surrounding terrain. "You will search for Cat Ear Flowers within twenty miles according to your current groupings; do not exceed thirty miles." 0

Silence enveloped them; in another world, this would have been considered beautiful and peaceful scenery. However, in this world, such tranquility carried a heavy aura of death. 0

"No matter whether the mission is completed or not, Seven After will gather here. Those who haven't arrived by seven should find their own way back," Seventh Elder said expressionlessly. In this perilous wilderness, if seven had not returned, it was likely they would never come back. 0

Seventh Elder took out a well-preserved Cat Ear Flower for the disciples to see, and then distributed a rescue talisman to each of them. This talisman was a variant of the Fire Talisman, similar to a signal arrow used by mortals. Seven's food primarily consisted of medicinal pills; if one wasn't afraid of attracting beasts, they could also roast food in the forest. 0

The five groups entered the dense forest in different directions. Seventh Elder looked at the two beautiful disciples beside him and said, "Let's go as well." 0

Cai Shujun hesitated for a moment and said, "Seven Shishu, if we leave, who will rescue our junior brothers?" She was a disciple of the Grand Elder and could directly refer to Lu Dishi as Shishu due to her seniority. 0

"We have our own mission," Seventh Elder replied seriously while looking at Cai Shujun. "Remember, no one can rely on others' rescue to survive; the only one you can depend on is yourself." 0

"I understand," Cai Shujun nodded lightly. 0

Miao Lifang smiled slightly and said, "No matter what, I will always be by my junior sister's side." Miao Lifang was two years older than Cai Shujun. In this training session, their mission from Mistaken Sword Hall was different from that of other disciples, and Miao Lifang's task was largely to protect Cai Shujun. 0

Dapeng soared into the air, and the three figures disappeared into the depths of the Beast Wasteland... 0

"Crack, crack." The sound of dry branches breaking echoed as Xu Feng and his group of ten stealthily moved through the forest. They dared not spread out too much; no one could guarantee that a beast above level five wouldn’t suddenly appear. 0

Among the ten in Xu Feng's group, there were four at the Refining Qi level and four Foundation Disciples. With this strength, dealing with a level three Azure Eye Cat would be effortless; any one of them at level ten could easily take on an Azure Eye Cat. 0

After walking for about a mile or two, they began to encounter sporadic Second-Level Monsters. The deeper they went, the more numerous and stronger these beasts became. The beasts had begun to develop some intelligence and were sensitive to danger; upon seeing the strength of Xu Feng's team, they did not dare to attack recklessly. 0

After walking five miles, they finally found their first Cat Ear Flower. The guarding Azure Eye Cat, upon seeing their formation, let out a strange cry and fled in fear. Obtaining the first Cat Ear Flower was incredibly easy. 0

"Let's split up," suggested Chou Shixiong, one of the three from Rage War Hall, who had maintained close ties with his companions throughout. "We three will take Xu Feng and Wan Hu with us." The mentioned Wan Hu was a disciple from Flying Star Hall, at level six of Refining Qi. 0

"That works too; spreading out makes it easier to find more Cat Ear Flowers," agreed Jiang Quan from Qianlong Hall. The four foundation disciples decided on their grouping format without giving others a chance to interject. 0

The ten were divided into two groups: three from Rage War Hall, along with Wan Hu and Xu Feng, while Jiang Quan from Qianlong Hall led a disciple from Cold Moon Hall, who was at level ten of refining qi. As they separated into two groups, Jiang Quan glanced at Xu Feng intentionally or unintentionally. 0

This subtle glance sent a chill down Xu Feng's spine; he couldn't understand what it meant but could clearly sense that it carried deeper significance. 0

The five from Jiang Quan headed left while Xu Feng's team went right. 0

After walking several miles, the speed of the five began to slow down as they encountered increasingly powerful beasts. A few level three monsters had started attempting attacks but were quickly dispatched by the three from the Foundation Establishment Stage in Rage War Hall. 0

This was Xu Feng's first time witnessing a Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator in action. With every movement, immense power surged forth; each strike required no buildup, executed effortlessly yet with tremendous force. Even from ten meters away, Xu Feng could feel the overwhelming aura approaching him, and his instincts warned him that if a master from the Foundation Establishment Stage aimed to deal with him, it would be a matter of seconds before he was eliminated. 0

Soon, this instinct began to manifest into reality. The expressions of the three senior brothers from Rage War Hall grew increasingly ominous, and even Wan Hu from Flying Star Hall sensed the unsettling atmosphere, casting a thoughtful glance at Xu Feng. 0

A strange cry echoed from fifty meters ahead. The dense trees obscured the view, making it impossible to see what kind of beast lay ahead. 0

"Xu Shidi, go take a look; there might be some Cat Ear Flowers we need over there," Chou Shidi pointed towards the source of the cry. 0

The other two disciples from Rage War Hall, Jiang Ben and Hu Ji, chimed in, "Yeah, don’t be afraid. We’ll protect you from behind. Just check out the situation and come back; we’ll go kill it." 0

Xu Feng finally understood why few low-level disciples returned alive from their training expeditions; it wasn’t about training at all—it was purely about being cannon fodder. 0

The three of them stared at Xu Feng as if ready to strike him down on the spot for disrespecting his seniors if he refused to go. 0

Wan Hu had already sensed that things were not right but felt powerless. At that moment, he was thinking about what would happen when Xu Feng was gone and when it would be his turn. 0
